How do I know if a plug-in needs updating?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not so if it isn't, please let me know.
I am using both Safari and Firefox browsers with Firefox as my default because I've had some issues with Safari (which I'm getting help with). Checking the Firefox website it said that Shockwave Flash and the Java Embedding Plugins needed updating. I guess those are plugins that came with the mac? I hate installing anything if I'm not sure so thought I would doublecheck. Software Update doesn't show anything needing updates. Is this something I need to check myself? and is it something I should be doing regularly.

Firefox will just download the updaters from the same Adobe sites, so it really doesn't matter which browser you use to get them.
is this something I have to make a point of staying on top of besides relying on the Apple Software Update?
Absolutely. Apple Software Update only addresses updates to Mac OS X and Apple's own applications. You have to address third-party applications individually unless they were purchased from the Mac App Store in which case updates will appear through the App Store application.

When the field in the matrix is filled with some value and the user moves to another field, the et_LOST_FOCUS event occurs. So, i think you can try to handle ItemEvents and use such code (for example):
if (pVal.EventType == SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_LOST_FOCUS && pVal.ItemUID == "38" && pVal.BeforeAction == false && pVal.FormType == 139)
string ChangedColumnID = pVal.ColUID;
int ChangedRowNumber = pVal.Row;
and write the values to your log.
"38" - is the matrix ID in the Orders form
"139" - is the Orders form
Also you can access to the value, that user had put into the field.

[SOLVED] Dependencies: How can I know if a package is needed by other

Hi guys, how are you doing?
I'm fine, but I have a doubt that is killing me, it's the following:
I want to remove "fam" (because I added the word fam on the line "DAEMONS=(...)" on rc.conf because a X person posted it on an X blog, and now I think that person was wrong), but I don't know if there is any package that depends on fam.
So, I was wondering if there is any tool or script to know if X package is needed by Y, Z or more packages, I've seen that pacman has a lot of features, like seeking orphans, remove packages recursively, but I didn't found a feature to solve my problem.
But maybe there is a script that performs a search in pacman's database on the field "dependencies" of all entries, and if there is any matches, the package would made appear in the output the results. Sadly, I can't program that script, because I know only a little bit of bash (I'm learning).

Get Plugin Finding Service Error for weeks & weeks now - can't update plug-ins, need download .pdf doc, but says adobe unstable, plug-in needs update. now what

Want to download .pdf doc, but pop-up says it's unstable, need update plug-in. Tried to update, got error message, with "try later". Same for weeks now. Tried check for updates, Firefox is up to date, clicked update plug-ins... it tries, then again... same error message: "Plugin Finding Service Error. Please try again later".
Been so long now -- when becomes a mighty big question. Looked in forum, no joy.
Please, can someone tell me -- what's the go. I'm absolutely no good with computers, but this needs to get fixed. Should I stop using Firefox or what?

Have tried to download via that link but not sure if successful. Very slow dial-up connection is the pits. Waited hours 'n hours, fell asleep in chair even, finally had to give in and go to bed, left it going. Server does time out every 8-12 hours, so not sure how long it went. The download appeared complete -- ie, did not show any note of failure. Not sure if it would -- some things in the past haven't.
Anyway, had success downloading one much older .pdf file, but the link for one I wanted had expired, and I don't know anything else to try. Tried a couple of other links I have, not sure of age of file -- on clicking link, the browser opened, but nothing more happened.
Wondering -- is the download available in separate pieces instead of one big one? Perhaps worth trying again that way?
Please, if you would be forgiving, and persist with me a little further/longer -- would you make your recommendation/s for next step/s please?

According to Firefox 6 my Shockwave Flash plug in needs updating but it won't let me load the adobe site properly

Addon Manager tells me that the Shockwave Flash plug in needs to be updated but the Adobe web page does not load and just hangs.
It also tells me that the Quicktime plug in is out of date but altho' it will connect to the Quicktime web page it does not complete the loading process.
I have also had problems accessing my Youtube channel adn have had to use a fix I found somewhere in support.mozilla that suggested using https instead of http. This works but why on earth have I had to do this? What has gone wrong with FF6?

Here I am replying to my own question. For the 8 people who apparently also have these problems I have solved the Adobe Flashplayer one. Or at least I am assuming that there was a causal connection between what I did and the result but, then again, who knows?
If you have IE on your system, make sure that the Flash Active X extension is installed and up to date. Then go through the rigmarole with Firefox and updating the Shockwave Flash. It should work.
Still no idea about Quicktime.

How do I know if the Adobe Flash Player Update is legitimate?

With all the buzz about the Trojan Flashback nowadays how can I be certain the popup window requesting me to update Adobe Flash Player is legitimate?
I just finished updating software through the Software Update... route and Adobe was not part of any of the four programs installed.
I also verified my computer is not infected though I do not have an antivirus program installed. So what do I do now?

It is more likely a bad DC-in board. This is the part of the iBook that houses the port where you plug in the adapter.
Since the green light on the adapter is coming on, that is an indication that the charger is working as it should. If it were dead, you would see no light.
In my experience, an iBook with a bad DC-in board will run from a charged battery, but the iBook will not run when plugged into the adapter, nor will the adapter charge the battery.
The DC-in board in my husband's iBook failed, but we could swap batteries (since I had an iBook, too), and he could use his iBook normally on a charged battery. We swapped batteries repeatedly, allowing my iBook to charge both batteries, until he was able to get his DC-in board replaced.

I don't know the detail for the crash IDs but if you had an attacment feature here I could attach what I understand to be some data from the computer error reports vis the computer admin.

You may need to get back in touch with me concerning these images I have sent as these are the lastest info I colected and this is to do with Windows Live disconnections.

How do I know if my iphone has successfully been backed up to my iTunes? I plugged it in and it said it backed up and I did a sync, but when I am looking through the summary page and I am not sure that all of my data got backed up. Please help!!

I have never backed up my iphone to my itunes because I always used the cloud. However, a few months ago, my wifi disk in my phone burned out so the Apple Store told me to back up everything to my itunes. I am going today to get the iphone 6 so I connected my phone (iphone 4S) to my itunes and I backed up and synced. However, when I look throughout the summary page and click in different areas (Photos, Movies), I don't see any of my data -- it is still asking me to Sync from iPhoto or to sync from another location. By backing up & syncing my phone, did all of my data get saved? Or do I still need to do more steps?
Sorry for the long winded question, I am just so nervous to get a new phone and plug it in to be restored and not have any of my pictures, videos or contacts, etc. Any help would be so so appreciated!

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone.
