Go to https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do and enter your serial number.
To find your serial number go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up your serial number is under Hardware Overview.

  • How do I know if i I have a superdrive on my MACBOOK pro?

Silly question I know, but Im just wondering how can i tell if i have a superdrive? It's a MacBook pro 2.16ghz intel duo 2 core...

"Superdrive" is a bit of a misnomer -- really all it means these days is "CD/DVD recorder that's in a Mac", and are produced by a variety of manufacturers and include a wide range of models. To find out the specific capabilities of the drive in your machine, go to the System menu (the Apple logo on the menu bar), click About This Mac, click the More Info... button in the About This Mac window to open System Profiler, then click on ATA in the Hardware section. Make a note of the drive it reports, and Google to see what it actually is.

You can copy the iWeb application from the desktop machine to your new MBA.  But if it's iWeb 2 it won't work with Mavericks or Mt. Lion. Also  copy the Domain.sites file from the desktop to your MBA as that's the file with your webstite files in it.
    Happy New Year

Photos and videos in the camera roll are included in your iCloud backup.  Restoring the backup to your new phone will recover them.

  • How do I know what OS I have on mu iMac? I've used it as a PC for years and need to switch over but I may be out of date with current software.  I think I read Lion somewehere....?

How do I know what OS I have on my iMac? I've used it as a PC for years and need to switch over but I may be out of date with current software.  I think I read Lion somewehere....?  OS 10.5.8

Click on the Apple icon at the top left of your menu bar, then About this Mac.
OS 10.5.8 is Leopard. Lion is 10.7
    As for upgrading:
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether further updates are required.
You should now see the App Store icon, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

Any 2.5" form factor SATA drive will work.

To transfer your current hard drive I like the free application SuperDuper. It makes a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html  You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

    need help

First boot into recovery and select Disk Utility>First Aid and repair the disk.
If there is no improvement, perform a Safe Boot:

If there is an improvement, then third party applications are probably the cause of the problem.
