How does he know ? (pacman and package names)

i take a package from pacman cache on box 1
i rename it from say xorg-1.4.0.pkg.tar.gz to xorg14-1.4.0.pkg.tar.gz
i pacman -U it on box 2
pacman on box 2 : upgrading xorg ###############33
how does he know its xorg and not xorg14 ? (there seem to be only the actual files of the application inside)
how do i rename the package so that pacman really understands its xorg14 and not xorg ?

several reasons
i hate ignorepkgs (and the trouble they can make if some dependency escapes out of what you ignorepkg'd)
i have multiple (varying between 5 - 9) boxes that run arch + 3 family / friends boxes with arch that i am the support guy for. when a bad or unexpected update was out (dhcpcd kde4 xorg lib/include/asm etc) it was bad for most or all of the boxes - so i want a solution for all at once
i install from scratch a lot (i naturally have skill of breaking my system to irrecoverable state and with the recent updates of arch its even more cause i swap hard drives). i prefer to have a custom mirror on my usb flash drive
i want to be able to give this mirror easily to others too - like that guy that made the kde 3 mirror

How to find my model number?

I don't know about you guys but the label on the back of my notebook is confusing. I am trying to register my notebook but when it ask for model number i don't know what to write. I understand that is cheaper to made stuff in china but come on!
I will post a photo with the label so you can point that out for me and others like me.

Hmmm...but i give you that number and you said is not it "your model number supposed to be like xxx-xxxxxx ( 59-033551 )".
And on the registration site "Please use the seven character alphanumeric number located on your computer ID label and do not include the dash"

So, I have made two IMAP accounts on my computer with the junkmail and notjunkmail accounts. I am constantly dragging the spam I get to the junkmail mailbox and the mistaken spam to notjunkmail.

I think u have to decide no of lines by trial error menthod only ...
u can use SY-TABIX to decide , which line its printing ...

New poster here. I have become the proud owner of an old (estimate 6 years) Nokia prepaid phone. How do I find its model number? Looking at the pictures of phones on the Nokia website, nothing jumps out at me. Was owned by a family member who recently passed away. No paperwork, not even how many minutes/time left on the prepaid card.

It's probably because your Model No. comes with various customizable options so it's probably best to search using the Product No. instead as this should more accurately identify your machine.

All process on Oracle runs serial. There is no threading inside a process. So a DBMS_JOB process is a serial process. It is started by the system. It executes. It terminates.
Parallel processing means running a number of these serial processes in parallel. Typically you will break up the unit of work to do into smaller units. And then run a serialised process to do a unit of work - by starting a number of these at the same time, you have parallel processing.
So if you start 9 jobs (processes) at the same time, and there is sufficient job processing capacity, all 9 processes will run at the same time.
If you want to have the 9th process wait for the others to finish first, you need some kind of logic to either start the 9th process after the other 8 have completed - or you need logic in the 9th process so that it could spin and wait for the 8 others to complete, before it starts its processing.
The first method is fairly easy. Your code start each of the 8 job processes. The DBMS_JOB.Submit() call gives you the job number of that process. You will thus have 8 job numbers. You can now loop in your code, wait a minute or more, and then check the dictionary view user_jobs to determine if these 8 job numbers still exist. If so, the job is still scheduled and/or executing.
If none of the 8 job numbers exist in the view, the 9th job process can be started.
Other methods are more complex. For example, the 8 job processes can send a notification that they are completed to the 9th process. This requires additional logic and code in all 9 processes. And you also need to deal with issues like one of the 8 processes completing before the 9th process started - so how will it then know that one of the 8 processes as completed? Etc.

ok. The thing is. I don't have an imac. but was given 2 keyboards. Both look identical but the USB connection is squared on one and rounded on the other at the side where the wire enters the use. Just to share my experience
I decided to upgrade to SL without increasing the inter HDD. I deleted all unwanted applications and data files and to my surprise i saved around 15 GB. Total capacity was always shown as 148 GB as against MBP spec of 160 GB (I earlier upgraded from Tiger to Leopard).
I successfully upgraded from L to SL and to my surprise again I saw this time the total capacity as 160 GB and I has also save around 10 GB exclusively after upgrade to SL. SL seems to have corrected the earlier errors in disk usage.
I tried to partition 15GB for installing XP but the it failed indicating that some files could not be transferred and it requires backing up and reformatting.
anyway i satisfied with the proceeding and busy exploring iLife 09.
