How do I know what apps have my hardware ID?

I know how to reset everything, but I read somewhere that some apps/websites store your hardware ID. It causes the app to remember you although the phone is back to factory settings. I don't want my buyer to mess around with my Pandora stations because Pandora remembers the phone I used to have (for example).
Thank you!

They would have to sign in with your pandora login/password to change your settings or stations.
No need to be paranoid.

I was wondering how do i know what apps i can put on my 2G ipod touch

Look in the requirements section of the App in the App store entry. Since your iPod can be updated to iOS level 4.2.1 most Apps should run on it with that level operating system.

  • HT1420 how do I know what devices have home sharing/iTunes Match. I don't think I have 5 computers setup, but the system says I do.

I like to know what devices I have on home sharing and iTunes Match. Also, how do I increase may access to more than 5 devices if needed?
    Thanks

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, click on the version twice, append the last three digits of the computer's serial number to http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords= , load the page, and check the computer's maximum OS version. If that's the current version, click here and read the entire page. If not, you can't use the Mac App Store version.

  • How do i know what app store account was used to install an app on my macbook pro?

    Hi All,
For about a year i have been bugged by the app store that i a couple of apps that are not up to date. I have tried to find the account that the app was installed with. I have found three accounts on my name, i logged in with all of them but no luck. How can you figure out under what name an app was installed?
    Thanks for any suggestions,

PS: I the maps fiasco was enough to get some people fired, then this should even lead to more job changes :-)

Please try each of the following steps you haven't already taken, until the issue is resolved. After each step, relaunch the App Store and try again.
    1. Follow the instructions in the Apple Support article linked below:
Mac App Store: Cannot update App Store purchases or updates do not seem available
    2. If any App Store purchases were made under a different Apple ID, or if the bundled iLife applications were accepted under a different ID, sign in to the App Store with that ID to update.
    3. Alternatively, delete the probem applications and re-download them with the ID you're using now. If you haven't already purchased them with that ID, you'll have to do that first, because purchases can't be transferred from one account to another.
    4. Select the Purchased tab in the App Store window. If you see an item in the list marked "You have 3 apps to accept," click Accept.
    5. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/adoption.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select Services ▹ Reveal from the contextual menu. A Finder window may open with a file selected. If it does, delete the selected file. You may be prompted for your login password.
    Then repeat step 4.
    6. Select Store ▹ View My Account from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. If you're trying to update any hidden purchases, unhide them.
    7. Launch iTunes and select Store ▹ Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
    8. If you've moved any App Store apps out of the applications folder, or into a subfolder, put them back. Never move or copy those applications.

  • How can I know what apps are running in the background of Q10

My battery is not lasting more than 12 hours even though I'm moderately using it. How can I tell which applications are running in the background?

As of now, the BB10 does not allow any apps to run in the background unless they are baked in the OS or in the active frames. So if an app is not in a active frame, no app is running in the background. try maximizing your battery by switching to wif whenever you have a wifi network.

Are you REALLY a sure you want to do this? Macafee products are generally not well received in the Mac world. The same can be said for anti virus in general.

  • Several questions . one i will be taking lots of notes and would like to know what app is best as i will be wanting to save them to sent to others, secondly what app is it that i would use to change words to voice... i do have an iPad2 64meg and wifi and

i have an iPad 2 and will be taking lots of notes which will have to be saved.. what is the best app i am use to microsoft word .. also i would like to know what app or how to get written to voice.. many thanks..

I have had a great experience with UPAD.  You can take notes on PDF files as well as use your finger or a stylus to take notes on a variety of blank page backgrounds.  You can then email your notes as a PDF if you want.  I know there are other features, but those are the ones I typically use.
What I really like is the writing interface.  You can pick line color and thickness.  Whe writing area is magnified so you can write easier and the text appears normal size on the page, though I believe you can write without the magnified area to if you want to.  You can easily move the writing area where you want it, and it is easy to keep uniform indentation for lists and columns.
It's easy to start using in minutes.  I got my iPad last year right before a huge national conference where I wanted to take notes in a lot of educational sessions.  I also did not want to lug all the handouts with me across the country.  I found UPAD after some research and decided to give it a try.  I downloaded all the handouts right before I left.  I was able to figure out how to take notes on a PDF as well as create a new notebook for other content during the speaker introductions.  And when I got home, I sent some notes to a colleague.  All very easy.
I'm sure the description in the app store is much more helpful, but I wanted to share some examples.

  • How do I know what the current version of fcpx w/o going to app store?

How do I know what the current version of fcpx without going to the app store? I'm hoping this is obvious and easy but I can't see it yet.

Thanks Neil, and thanks for figuring out that I wanted the general answer, not just the version right now.
But here's the question I should have asked: How do I know when there is a new version of FCPX so I can update right away? Was there an email or alert I missed, or do I just keep checking ?

  • How do I know what OS I have on mu iMac? I've used it as a PC for years and need to switch over but I may be out of date with current software.  I think I read Lion somewehere....?

How do I know what OS I have on my iMac? I've used it as a PC for years and need to switch over but I may be out of date with current software.  I think I read Lion somewehere....?  OS 10.5.8

Click on the Apple icon at the top left of your menu bar, then About this Mac.
OS 10.5.8 is Leopard. Lion is 10.7
    As for upgrading:
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether further updates are required.
You should now see the App Store icon, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

Look at what is happenning with your Mac when you run Activity Monitor.
    Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor
Click on System Memory to get statistics on memory usage.  You should have some free memory.
When you have lots of page outs more memory will be helpful.  My entry for entry for Page ins/outs is:
    Page ins/outs: 29163/0
Notice I have 0 pageouts which says that I am not using my harddrive for extra memory space.  Thus, I have enough memory.
Activity Monitor has a neat feature where it can display a dynamic dock icon.  In Activity Monitor View > Dock icon > Show cpu history.

  • I have my boyfriend's apple ID and password, how do I check what apps he has on his phone? ( not all the apps that he had downloaded, but the ones that are actually on his phone). And How can I remotely download apps to his phone if I have his ID

I have my boyfriend's apple ID and password, how do I check what apps he has on his phone? ( not all the apps that he had downloaded, but the ones that are actually on his phone). And How can I remotely download apps to his phone if I have his ID and PW?
    Thank you so much

If you want seperate accounts for managing apps and purchasing content, basically yes, you need two account and would need to repurchase. However, if you just want seperate ID for iMessgae, icloud and such, you can do that and still continue sharing the same Id for apps and itunes.

  • Gigabit-how to know what you have?

How does one know what their cable is?
I remember that some of the cables I bought in the past were cat 5 or 6 but have no recollection of which was which and I threw out the packages.
If I set it for gigabye and only have cat 5 will it matter?
I am using a cable modem (in Japan) that is hooked to time capsule. Japanese web connections are super fast themselves--this is 30MB downstream and I used to have 100 with fiber optic. But as far as the cable I have no idea. Anyway to check?
    Thanks

    tokyoprogressive:
I don't think there is a way to tell by looking at the wires themselves. Sometimes the cable jacket, the gray plastic sheath around the wire bundle, is printed with a label that says CAT 5e. See the wikipedia link below to find out more and a list of other references. Or you can go directly to the Nihongo translation at

There is a difference between using Cat 5(10/100) , Cat 5e (10/100 and can do 1000 but not wide band and Cat 6 which does 10/100/100. User can check the lights on their router. For example I have a NetGear switch which shows one light if less than 1000.
Use can also go to System prefs/Network/Advanced/Ethernet and read the status. User can also launch Airport Utility to check speed status.
    Smokerz:
I am not sure what you mean by wide band. Isn't gigabit all 1000Mbps and isn't Gigabit slang for 1000BASE-T? The following comes from Wikipedia.
    WikiReference : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category5cable
Cat 5e cable is an enhanced version of Cat 5 that adds specifications for far end crosstalk. It was formally defined in 2001 in the TIA/EIA-568-B standard, which no longer recognizes the original Cat 5 specification. Although 1000BASE-T was designed for use with Cat 5 cable, the tighter specifications associated with Cat 5e cable and connectors make it an excellent choice for use with 1000BASE-T.
Also, I am a new Airport Utility user and i can't see how you find the LAN connection speeds. Can you tell me how?
    Thanx
