How do I know which add-ons have been validated as safe? When clicking "Add to Firefox" I get the scary warning window about only using add-ons from trusted

The scary warning that appears when I click "Add to Firefox" for a certain add-on discourages me from actually installing it.
"Install add-ons only from authors whom you trust. Malicious software can damage your computer or violate your privacy . . . (author not verified)"
In particular, I'm interested in the Password Exporter add-on. I want to be especially cautious as this will access all my passwords stored in Firefox. How do I actually know if an add-on is safe or not?

If you are talking about "Password Exporter 1.2.1", it's safe as I have been using that add-on for years and love it.

    I had same problem where Firefox 3.6.8 would not start or open. Spent many hours trying different things to fix it. Uninstall of previous version and reinstall did not make any difference. Finally, after uninstalling Firefox, I searched for Firefox folders and files on my computer, deleted and removed all Firefox folders and files - deleted anything and everything related to Firefox so that it will be as if I was going to download Firefox for the first time ever. Then, using another browser, I downloaded Firefox 3.6.8 and installed it. It could be that some Add-Ons or something else from the older version of Firefox or profile was interfering with the new one. It was easier to delete remove everything and install all over again clean than to figure out which part was causing the problem.
    Keep in mind, when you delete all Firefox folders and files from your computer, you are deleting all your bookmarks and all your Add-ons. If you want to keep those bookmarks, you might want to save the URLs someplace safe to bookmark them again before deleting them. You need to re-install the Add-ons also. Upon installation, it asks if you want to import bookmarks and settings from another browser or settings you might have. I imported them from my other browser. Now, Firefox works. I also installed up-to-date Add-ons.
    I hope this helps. Always keep more than one browser functioning on your computer, just in case one fails.

    You log into the App store using the same Apple ID you used to set the computer up, verify that none of your apps are hidden and that they have all be accepted and then download and install the update

    The iCloud.com website doesn't have the PhotoStream feature, PhotoStream is currently only for sharing photos between your photo apps on your various devices and computers.
    You can see your PhotoStream photos on a mobile device in the photos app when it is logged into iCloud using your Apple ID. You can see them on a computer in iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac or your designated PhotoStream folder on a PC when the computer is logged into iCloud using your Apple ID

    If you were not syncing and backing up your phone to either iTunes or iCloud, then they are gone. There is no "undo".

    I'm helping a music group fix their CD information, which was incorrect in the Gracenote database. Gracenote made the corrections, but the iTunes store is not reflecting the changes. I verified the changes were made by inserting the CD on a PC, and, through the iTunes client, asking it to pull the track info from Gracenote. The info is correct.
    However, if you use the iTunes client to go to the store, the info in the store does not match what was pulled when sticking the CD in the drive and querying Gracenote. Also, if you go to the CD URL via a web browser to preview or purchase a digital download, the iTunes store web site is still showing the wrong information.
    How do I get the iTunes store (that is, Apple's server, not the iTunes client) to pull and use updated (correct) CD information from Gracenote?

    The official Content Provider relationship with the Store depends how it was set up, and may be the group or their agent or a 3rd party such as TuneCore.  They can go back through the same official channel that put the tracks in the Store in the first place.
    Or, if it is simply an error, as opposed to an official change by the Artist, you can try the Feedback page:

    I have filled out crash reports, I have scanned all the questions, I have answered emails from Mozilla, I have deleted almost every Add On--many of which I liked...but only yesterday did I see a notice advising if I was still having problems to revert to an earlier verison of Firefox. The listing only gave me one option--compatible with Windows XP Service Pack II (I am running Windows 7, Home Premium 32 bit). I chose that option and other than having to "Allow Firefox to make changes to this computer" box appearing each time I launch, nothing seems different. I checked under Troubleshooting and the screen form reads I am running 3.6.12 !! (my nemesis).
    So what version am I running? Is it still 3.6.12 but set for compatibility with Service Pack II for XP? That doesn't make sense. But Sync won't work still, the same sites show only text, et. etc.I dislike the the format of IE8, but it doesn't crash and it shows all my sites correctly. Is it better to just use that? I was about to download Firefox to my Android, but I think I'll stay with Google

    To check your installed version, open FF, go to "Help" and click on "About Mozilla Firefox." The panel that is displayed will show your version.

    Trying to look at prices for adding RAM to my powermac G4 and I have no clue as to what I've got. My work got it for me, and it came with no paperwork or booklets. What I can tell is that it's an 800Mhz processor. Mirrored circular front. Some other modifications that my work made before I got it (added zip drive) so the picture of what I've got is not at all like any pics anywhere on macs. Can someone please direct me to a site that will let me know what Mac I've got so I can add more memory?

    That said there were only two models made with 800Mhz G4s: Power Macintosh G4/800 Dual CPU Quick Silver, and the Single CPU 800Mhz Quick Silver. It could be an upgraded older model though.

    It depends on when Apple refurbished the iMac. It's
    possible that it has been sealed up in the box for a
    while. Unless there's a shipping label attached to
    the box, you don't know whether "Computer Geeks"
    purchased it directly from Apple or from another
    source (wholesale, liquidation, auction, etc.).
    The label on the brown box the iMac was sent in was labeled 08/01/06.
    The serial number that it was reassigned was YM13003WLGQ. Is this the kind of serial number Apple gives a refurbished computer? There was no Apple part number on the label but a new Computer Geeks SKU of IM500-BLU-B.
    If
    they acquired it through one of the latter sources,
    that could explain the iMac's "dated" firmware.
    My gut says this is either something given a lick and a promise by Computer Geeks (they ran the Apple hardware tests and it checked out as Kosher) and then sold as "refurbished" or something that was bought from a school and then represented as "refurbished" but actually better referred to as "used."
    Although it may seem intimidating with the warnings
    about interrupting the procedure, as long as you
    follow the instructions, you'll be fine. After
    you've done two or more hardware flash updates,
    you'll realize that holding your breath isn't a
    required step in the process.
    Yeah, but the problem is if it does get "bricked" I can't replace it. There were only 3 left of this model when it was bought and now none left. It looks like I will visit the friendly folks at the Genius Bar for this one. Not gonna take the chance.

    Instead have a DELETE_FLAG or END_DATE or something indicating the row is now effectively deleted. Nice one, but that implies you don't work on table but on a view and INSTEAD OF trigger, to avoid any delete directly inside your table.
    But in that case, you must avoid any SQL*Plus (or any other tools) access, do not update directly the table, or add a trigger on delete for your table and raise an error.
    Well, that depend of application code.
