How do I link to a specific place on a "different" page?

I understand how a Named Anchor works on a given page. How do I click a link on one page, and go to a specific place on another page? Can that be done?
Thanks!

Same page anchor:
<a href ="#anchoronthispage">
Different page anchor:
<a href="anotherpage.html#anotheranchor">

    How do I link to a specific Hero Image from another page?

    Hi Laura,
    I am afraid that this is not possible in Muse at this stage, I will recommend that you post this on our ideas section over here, https://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas, and let our devs team know of this requirement.
    As a work around I will suggest that you create a dedicated page with this panel opened when you publish and link that page with the text that you want. Let me know if you need more clarification on this.

  • How do you link to a specific location in another page?

    I'm working in Dreamweaver CS4.  I'm trying to create a link to go to a specific location on another page in my website.  Any advice?

    All the information I have seen about Named Anchors deals with information that is contained on the same page.  I am looking to go to a specific location on a different page.  Is this possible using Named Anchors?  If so, how?
    Sure it is.
    Place a named anchor on your destination page near the bottom of your page for this test.  And name your anchor  1.
    On the parent page, your link will look like this:
    <a href="some_page.html#1">this is a link to named  anchor 1</a>
    Save both pages and test in browser.

  • I want to link to a specific place within a document from Captivate4

    Hi all,
    I want to link to a specific place within a document from Captivate4.
    I have no trouble linking to the beginning of a document; however I want to be able to link to a specific chapter/area of a document I am creating. My plan is that as people progress through the e-learning they can link back to the electronic manual I am creating from where they left off.
    I have a workaround of creating separate documents and linking to them, but this is time consuming and messy.
    Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do; I have looked around the forums and, unless I am blind, can't find anything like I am looking for.
    Cheers

  • Linking to a specific location in a web page is not working

    Hello,
    I am using anchor tags for linking to a specific location in a web page . This Page contains some images(.bmp).
    Eg:
    <h2><a name="exactline">Linking Directly to a Specific Location</a></h2>
    <a href="http://www.example.com/some-page-or-other.aspx#exactline">Click here</a>
    Whenever I click on the link it moves to  specific location but when the page get loaded completely , top of the page is being displayed.
    My question is how can I make this link redirects directly to the particular section and stays there even after the page loads fully.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
    When you click your link "Click here", the SharePoint web page with anchor will not work until refresh the page, if it's the case, you can add the javascript code to refresh the page automatically as workaround per the following similar post.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/f7eab808-da8a-44fd-9933-f9b992f5affc/sharepoint-anchor-tags?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious

    <script type="text/javascript">
    setTimeout(Reload,2000);
    function Reload()
    window.location.hash=self.document.location.hash.substring(1);
    </script>

  • When importing images in Pages, how do I set the default object placement to "stay on page" and "no text wrap"?

    when importing images in Pages, how do I set the default object placement to "stay on page" and "no text wrap"?

    Then use a Layout template.
    I am a designer and I use Word Processing templates with layout breaks and all the other tools available because Layout templates are just WP templates with a lot of options removed.
    Pages is not Indesign, but then Indesign is not Pages, …and Pages 5 is not Pages '09.
    Unless your flyers are for the Web, why are you using Pages at all?
    I am curious, what does your post have to do with the O.P.'s question? …and why are you posting it here?

  • How to display the content of a region on a different page

    Hello,
    Does anyone knows how to display the content of a region on an other page. I try to make page that displays content that resides somewhere else in my portal, so I can give a summarization of some hot topics. I really want to display the whole content of some regions (not a display with custom search).
    Thanks a lot,
    Hans

    Set that page as portlet, include it in a region in another page and in the edit defaults decide which regions you want to display.

  • Linking to a SPECIFIC place in a document

    Hello,
    I am wanting to link from specific text in one document to a specific location in another document.  I have created Named Anchors in the document that I want to specific text to link to.  The code is listed below:
         <span class="style2">CHS 314</a><a name="CHS314" id="CHS314"></a> - Introduction to Native American Studies - Spring 2006:</a></span>
    I have used the Point to File method with both documents open (tiled vertically) to point from the text (in the document mission statement.html)  to the Named Anchor (in the document Research Papers.html).  Here is the code:
         <a href="Research Papers.html#CHS314">critical discussion of works of literature </a>
    The problem is that when I test this code in FireFox and IE, it opens to the PAGE (Research Papers.html)  but NOT to the SPECIFIC LOCATION (the  named anchor) #CHS314 on the page.
    I am wanting to and need to use the text on one page to point to specific courses on another page.  It doesn't really do me any good to open the page, without going to a specific location on the page.
    Am I missing something in the instructions on how to accomplish this task????
    You sage wisdom and expertise greatly appreciated.

    I don't think you're getting the picture. They are talking about having enough content on a page that will cause a browser with a viewport shorter than the content to scroll. When your content is too short to scroll, it is not difficult to find the place in the page you linked to - particularly with your naming scheme. We are talking about browser scrolling functions, not CSS.
    A couple of screen shots to illustrate (click to enlarge, if you want to):
    In the above grab, the browser's viewport is taller than the content (excluding your top banners and menus). It did its best to scroll to CHS314, but hit the bottom of the page.
    The above grab shows that a shorter browser viewport was able to scroll your link to the top, because there was enough content to scroll there without hitting the bottom of the page.
    Does that help?

  • How do I link to a specific part of a page (ie. halfway down)??

    How would I create a link that opens in _blank but at a specified point on that new page in the new window? Say for example to go to a certain pic halfway down the link page?

  • How can I link to a specific point and zoom in a public GIS Flash map?

    I have been given the url for a county map that is presented in an interactive Flash document.
    http://68.156.95.45/newberrygis//#1
    Client would like me to focus in on their specific development, which requires panning the map and zooming in.
    How can I find a query string that will help me to do that?

    The functionality of the GIS map was important. I was given the email for the person in charge of the map, who helped me out. It appeared that he was able to outline the road in the neighborhood that I needed to focus on. That provided a parcel ID, which in turn made it possible to focus in on the proper area. This is supposition on my part; perhaps he has other info that gave him the parcel ID.
    I agree with Ken...I'm not a huge fan of Flash on other than desktops and laptops, but it is what it is, client needs to use it, I need to help the client out!

  • Prepard statement how to set default value to specific place holder

    hi all
    i have a prepared statement in that, to second place holder (or dollar ) i want to
    assign a default value. can i do that
    if yes, how ?

    Ummm... the placeholders in prepared statements are question marks, not dollars.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/sql/PreparedStatement.html
    And no, there's no "default" features in the API.
    For every placeholder, you have to set a value, and that value will remain in place until another set, even if the preparedstatement has been executed since the last set.
    You need to do your own defaulting explicitly, with if or other conditional coding.
    A totally different approach to default values is possible with at least most databases; when the table is created, or thereafter, you can specify a default value for a column. However, this will only be applied on INSERT of new rows, and only when the INSERT statement doesn't have a value (including a NULL value) for that column. That might not work for you.

  • How to retrieve links to a specific file?

    Yes. I didn't find any answer  to this question on forums, google etc.
    For instance: I have a .jpg file in my site, I know it is linked to four or five files (documents), how can I know which are these?
    Thank you for your help.
    Jean-Jacques

    You could set up the Find and Replace option (under Edit) to search all the files in the site for the name of the image file.  It will generate a list of the files found that contain that file name.  And just to be safe, in both the Find and the Replace entries, put the same thing so that a wrong click doesn't change them to something you don't want.
