How do I link to my tv to access the internet?

What is the best way to link my Airport to my Sony Bravia TV?  Currently, I have installed a Cisco 610N Bridge but on screen it says I need to update software.  I don't know what they are talking about.

You have succesfully connected, well done!
Your TV has an operating system, just like a computer.  You've connected it to the internet for the first time, it has found an update, and it's asking for your permission.  Using your TV remote, select OK or Yes or whatever, and let it do it's thing.
When it's finished, you'll probably find more apps available, like YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, etc, that may not have been there before.

  • Playbook going to Europe- CAN WE LINK A USB WEBSTICK to access the internet?

Can we hook up a webstick to the Playbook, via a USB dongle, to access the web?  Vodafone has a webstick that you can plug into a pc which gives you access to the web.  I would like to do the same with the Playbook.  Will this work?
Any idea?  What hardware do I need to buy before I leave the States.
    Thanks for your help.

No this is not possible on the PlayBook at this time.
It used to be possible with early OS versions 1.0 and hacks (called rooting) which would invalidate your warranty. Rim put a stop to this in Feb 2012. The driver to achieve USBOTG (USB On the Go) connectivity is actually still in the operating system but it is not enabled right now and no one can figure out how to get it to work. No one knows if/when this can be accomplished. The hacking community is trying to solve this but it's not going to happen any time soon.
My suggestion to you is to go to Box.com and get acquainted with cloud services. It's free for personal use and it's great. https://www.box.com/personal/
You can use the PlayBook's web browser to offload files or to grab files that you've already put in your account. You will need some sort of Wi-Fi connection to do this of course. It will serve as a valuable file storage portal for you until you can return home. Check out YouTube for video tutorials.
Also, you could use FTP or Bluetooth to share files. Bluetooth doesn't require a Wi-Fi connection obviously, but it's slow to transfer large files. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a little more complex and requires a web server running on a host computer. You can get applications through App World that will allow you to transfer files from the PlayBook to the web server and visa versa.
The PlayBook does have built in Wi-Fi sharing capability and may be useful for you if you have access to a computer but don't have access to a USB cable.
Re-reading your question, I think a more simple solution is to purchase a mobile router to plug the USB dongle into and then your PlayBook (and cell phone) could access it as a Wi-Fi hotspot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_broadband_modem This is the modem my family bought to get Wi-Fi out at their rural farm location (works great) http://www.dlink.com.au/products/?pid=824

  • Linking via BT your iPhone to your notebook to access the internet

Does anyone know how to or if there is a way to use your iPhone as a modem, linking it via bluetooth to your notebook, then being able to access the internet on your notebook???
    Thanks!

NO. It's called tethering and the iPhone does not support it. It is also against the TOS with AT&T so I don't expect it to come anytime soon. I do miss that feature, as my last cellphone (Sony Ercisson w810i) was capable of it, and I did need to use it occasionally but it was the third party programmers that made it possible by writing the modem scripts, NOT Apple or Sony. Maybe the iPhone will support Bluetooth properly some day and a clever little coder will write us a modem script for it.
I've found that 99% of the time the iPhone will do what I needed to tether for anyway so it hasn't been too bad.

I don't have a DSL or cable modem to access the Internet ... just a mobile WiFi (there is no cable available at our house and the mobile WiFi is our only option). How do I connect my Time Capsule to the Internet via the mobile WiFi?

    LOL!!
I am in Australia and the ISP... I think both the main ones would fit your description to a T.. big T in particular.
Your router is really unsuitable.. if it is only wireless and no ethernet.. just buy an ethernet one.
Do a search on ebay.. 3g router.
But you can get the TC to join a wireless network.
It is a non-standard setup that Apple will not support.. the option is hidden.
If you are on Lion download the 5.6 utility. Go to the wireless set up page and hold down the option key whilst selecting wireless mode.. a new option, join will appear. You can then put in the ssid and passkey of the 3g router.
But please note the end result of this setup..
very slow speed. The TC is now a second wireless hop from your clients.. this will halve the speed.
In this mode the ethernet are deactived.. for reasons only Apple know, they decided you should not use ethernet when doing this.

I did a software update on my ipad to 8.1 and now cannot access the internet.  How do I fix this?  My mail updates, but to get internet access I had to move from wifi to cellular data, and now even cellular data does not allow me access.

Hi Go to settings Reset Network Settings After Reset you need to enter your Router wireless key Before you do this turn off your Router for 30 seconds Also an option is to go on Websites for your make of Router look for any Firmware updates but you can do this later. Cheers Brian

  • How do I copy and paste an image form the internet to Keynote. I have done this successfully in the past by selecting copy and then paste by using the right click function and now am unable to do so. I am thinking it is an outdate OS problem...not sure.

How do I copy and paste an image from the internet to Keynote. I have done so successfully in the paste by using the copy and paste right click functions but am unable to do so now. That was about a year ago that I attempted that I was able to do this. Thank you for your help.

    Some images are copy-protected.
If all else fails, you can make a screen shot of the image:
With the image visible in your browser, press CMD-Shift-4 and your cursor will change to crosshairs.
Position the cross hairs at one of the corners of what you want to copy and drag to the opposite corner, then release the mouse. An copy of the image will be saved to your desktop.
You can now edit and use this image.
    Be sure to respect copyrights.

This is possible to be connected to WiFi but not internet.
You connect to your modem/router via WiFi and whether it is connected to the internet or configured properly to route the internet to WiFi devices is a different story.
Now if you've already reset your WiFi (try disabling and enabling) and perhaps even restarting your MBP
Then make sure that your modem/router is connected to the internet.
You can try any other device, lights on the modem/router or use Eth cable to test.
    Report back your findings.

  • How do you view a friend's screen over the internet

how do you view a friend's screen over the internet, not on the same LAN?
    for 10.8.x and 10.9.x?
    thanks,
    g.

Look at LogMeIn, GoToMyPC or any other 'remote access service'.
    LogMeIn
    GoToMyPC
Apple has 'Back to my Mac' which could work well, however it is tied into iCloud & frankly makes it a real pain handling passwords to set it up.
I think the Messages application can allow you to request that someone can control the Mac via 'screen sharing' too, but I haven't tried across different OS X versions.

I guess you are trying to connect from the R3/ECC to the Portal Server.
Are these two systems in the same network? Do you have usernames (valid and fully authorized) in both systems? What is the OS on which these two systems are housed?
Please provide these details to proceed further.
    Regards

Works just fine for me (Safari 3.1 and 10.5.2).
If you're using Safari you may need to use the keyboard shortcut Command-R to "refresh" the download.

  • How can my network access the Internet?

    Hi all,
All in GNS3 lab scenario I created.
Hope anybody can shed light on this matter.  I have for example a multi area OSPF domain.  Like all of my remote sites are in area x, y, and z and all connects to area 0, in the area 0 I have this ASBR 7200 that has an EBGP peer to R1 (ISP) that connects to R2 and R2 connects to R3, which in turn R3 connects back to my ASBR 7200.
I would like to know how can I reach all of the BGP subnets being advertised by R1 (basically the internet) from my remote sites in area x, y and z?  As you can see in the topology I am using obviously RFC 1918 addresses on my network and I used all public IP addresses on the BGP routers.  I would like to know how I can reach all those for example all 500,000 routes in order for my remote sites to access the internet?  I can't redistribute BGP into my OSPF (since it will break).  I tried configuring the subnets on my remote sites on the ASBR 7200 using network command, and the BGP routers can see those subnets, but inside my network I cannot see the subnet that I have created in R3 (pretending it's an internet site).  What seems to be missing in my config in the ASBR?
    Please any inputs gladly appreciated.
Please remove configuration in 3RD_PARTY-7200-ASBR router, I would like to know how can my local sites see loopback 99.99.99.0 in R3 without redistribution into OSPF...
     redistribute bgp 65535 subnets

Yes you will need to NAT at some point to go from private to public address space. Here is a basic configuration if you are interested:
    interface F8
    ip nat inside
    interface G0
    ip nat outside
    ip access-list standard NAT
     permit 192.168.11.0 0.0.0.255
ip nat inside source list NAT interface G0 overload
