How do I listen to iTunes music when not connected to the Internet?

I have an iPad that we use for traveling in rural areas where Internet is not available. I have purchased lots of music on ITunes but can't access the songs when traveling. How do I download those songs to my iPad so I can listen to them when I can't access the cloud?

Do you have iTunes Match? If not, then any music you sync to your device is available to play at any time. No connection of any sort is needed - just battery power.
Can you provide a little more information as to whether or not your have Match, and what you are seeing in your Music app?

If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.

I have had this problem for quite some time now and its starting to irritate me.
I am trying to update my my iTunes version from 10.2.2 to 10.3.1 but it tells me that I am not connected to the internet when I clearly am. Everything worked perfectly (uTorrent, Firefox, Safari, MSN) even the iTunes store and the app store.
Issue:
* Open iTunes
* Click iTunes
* Click 'Check for updates'
* Version 10.3.1 is available for download
- Click 'Download now'
* MBP says its 'Checking for new software'
* MBP says 'Software update cannot check for updates because of a network problem'
* Click 'Network diagnostic'
- MBP says that my internet is running perfectly
* iTunes software update closes by itself
> I have no firewalls on and no anti-virus programs installed at all, everything on the Macbook Pro 15" is standard.
> I have tried un-installing and re-installing.

I Tried that already, but if i turned it off, I cannot send an imessage to people I want to text through imessage. There are people in my contacts that when I text, it is automatically as text message, while there are some that when I text, it is through iMessage automatically, and I just want through text message also. You can cache the cloud documents that you most often read by opening them once when the network is available. Edits made to these documents would be automatically synced back to the cloud if the network is available. If for any reason the network is not available, these would be synced the next time network becomes available.

ITunes 7.7 not connecting to the internet (Windows XP)

I downloaded iTunes 7.7 a few days ago and since then I cannot go to the iTunes store to buy songs, update podcasts, or even find track names or album art. The connection with iTunes does not work. It tells me my network connection has failed and to try again after hooking it up. It is in fact hooked up, and I have run diagnostics only to find unhelpful answers. I have tried them all and they don't work, and even the Apple support website tells me the same unhelpful hints. But who knows if that was even the problem?

This happens a lot on iTunes upgrades. Security software programs like Norton, McAfee, NOD, etc. block the new iTunes version.
Apparently it is not enough to check the security software settings to see if iTunes is allowed - you have to actually remove itunes from the programs list, and then add it back in.
Go into Norton/McAfee/NOD/etc. and tell it to allow these programs:
itunes.exe
ituneshelper.exe
mDNSResponder.exe

I Often take my macbook along with me to work. I cannot connect to the internet there. MacBook is set to use MobileMe. When I sync my iPhone 3G with my MB it wont sync updates I made on the laptop. I sync two iPhones and an iPad with one iTunes library on the same computer and each device has different content. Each device has its own sync preferences with iTunes. You can transfer the same music and apps to each device or different music and apps.

I completely understand what is happening. I know that you are connected to the Internet. I made the suggestion because I have seen it work in similar circumstances. The Apple iTunes servers can be a bit fussy about things and sometimes rebooting the router clears up this miscommunication between iTunes and your network.
Have you tried signing into your account and then try to sync again. Go to Store>View Account. You will have to enter your password. Then try to sync again. Or try signing out completely in Store>Sign out. Quit iTunes, sign in again and then try to sync again.
Sometimes refreshing settings will help clear up weird problems.

Hey Evawantsin, turning off Wi-Fi as suggested by Illaass will do the trick, but how are you connecting to your stereo? If it uses Wi-Fi, then you need to turn the Wi-Fi on for music sessions. If through Bluetooth your fine, or do you use a physical connection like a dock, USB to lighting cable or do you just plug in through the headphone port with a patch cable? Also, you can down load the iPod Touch Users Guide for iOS 8 for free from iTunes. It will answer most questions, or at least point you in a direction. Hope this helps. Good luck, Cheers.

Anytime you open an app that has a persistant sound stream - a movie, a podcast, some games - it will overide the music app's stream. nothiong you can do to change it.

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
