I want to be able to located where my Step Mum's iPad is but I do not want to include her in my fa,ily sharing group. Is this possible?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

I ask this question because recently at my job it appears that the work iPad was lost and or stolen. It never had a fixed apple ID so we couldn't use iCloud to locate it. Managers just recycled through their personal apple ID's. it seems no one got a serial number for it, or the data number it used. My manager says they are tracking it through the data plan, and that she has something called high tech crimes involved in tracking it; but I thought if it was reset the iPad is pretty much lost since they failed to get all the info.
Is there a way to still track the iPad?
Ironically, I told Managment what to do to set the iPad up yet no one listened to me. They have the same issue with their current iPhone 4S. Guess some people will never learn lol

Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

"What Size" results question. How can I locate used GB not appearing on HD?

My Version Tracker "What Size" results are as follows:

Used 145 GB
Available 320 GB
71.1 GB Users
8.61 GB Applications
6.34 GB Library
2.67 GB username
1.43 GB System
I have about 30 GB of songs, 5 GB of Pictures, and 30 GB of movies. So I am confident that the "Users" total (71.1 GB) is in keeping with what I have used. (And Users, Applications, Library, username, and System all equal what is "on disk, 91.4 GB.")
What I am wondering is, how can I locate the unaccounted for 53.6 GB? (Which is 91.4 subtracted from the "Used 145 GB.")
I have been unsuccessful in finding any searches related to this subject that I can use. I found a couple about using Terminal, however, I would need step by step procedures for that.
Any ideas, articles, or threads anyone can point me to?

First of all, always keep in mind the double standard problem that prevents from being able to make straight, simple, easy counts. See:

Then, WhatSize should be run separately from each user account, as you cannot use it to spy on the others, it doesn't take into account the others' files.
Also: some system files like VM have a fluctuating size. Quit as many apps as you can and test if several measurements give different results.
WhatSize is able to show (one user's) every folder and every file. Use its different ways to show results, and detect the "strange" sizes firstly from what should be expected.
It is very possible that a file has grown huge for some reason.

How do you set up to view the Notes on your iPhone or iPad through iCloud on your Mac laptop? I'm unable to figure it out. I am running the latest versions of OS and IOS. I would like my Notes to always sync through iCloud. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. - Terry

On your iPhone and iPad, go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your iCloud account and turn Notes to On (you will also need to set up an iCloud email account in order to sync notes with iCloud, even if you don't use it). Confirm that in Settings>Notes that the Default Account is set to iCloud.
On you MBP, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign into your iCloud account and check Notes. Open the Notes app and confirm that Notes>Default Account is set to iCloud.
After that new notes should sync between your devices using iCloud as long as you haven't selected a different account to create the note in. If you have existing notes on your iOS devices that were created prior to setting up iCloud notes syncing, you'll have to copy and paste the text into new notes created in the iCloud account in order to sync them with iCloud. Any notes on your Mac that are not in the iCloud account can simply be dragged and dropped to iCloud within the Notes app in order to add them to iCloud.

How can I have my iPad not be linked to my daughter's iPod touch?

My daughter has had her iPod for over a year,I just bought an ipad2 and now I realize that they want to act as one as far as content because they are both linked to my apple id. I set her iPod up on my desktop user account thus my iTunes library,except for once I synched it on her user account and now there are a few shows stuck there. My point is that I want her iPod to function on its own,right now it's like I have 2 devices. Hi all and thanks for taking the time to read this.
All I want to do is get my PDF files downloaded from the web from iBooks on my ipad to iBooks on my iPhone.
Because they are not Purchased from ITunes ,this seems to be a real problem.
I tend to download instruction manuals for my TV, washing machine, Surround Sound system, car stereo....you get the idea... To my ipad in iBooks.
All I want to do is put them on my iPhone in ibooks too.
Everything I have found on the web covers PDFs downloaded from iTunes, using Transfer Purchases etc. surely they cant be stuck in one place because they were free downloads.

I'm still looking for the solution to this but in the mean time I have a workaround which others may find useful.
When you first view the , say instruction manual for whatever in PDF form, when asked to 'open in', go for Dropbox, then from there open it in iBooks,
At least this way it starts its life in a common saved place so you can then access it on your other apple devices.

You have to be using the same iCloud account if you expect your notes to sync to her iPad. Are you sharing an Apple ID and the same iCloud account? If not, your notes are not going to sync.

If you can't find it via Find My iPhone / http://icloud.com then you won't be able, that is the only way to try and locate it - it won't show if you didn't have Find My iPad enabled on it and/or it's not connected to a network.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model then you should contact your carrier.
