How do I locate email headers on my iMac cloud mail

how do find email headers of received emails on my imac.  I've tried using "view," with no success, also used "shift cmmand H," still no results.  Can anyone help?  I have Mac OS X Ver 10.6.8  Snow Leopard.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
In Mail 4.5, View, Messages, Long headers or Shift+Command+H works for each message you select, on an individual basis as you apply the command in your Inbox.
If you want to set the default Inbox headers to None, All ('long'), or Custom, use Mail, Preferences, Viewing, Show Header Detail...

  • How do you handle email headers?

    Hi,
I am following some examples in Definitive Guide to SOA by Jeff Davies. I have a proxy service that logs into and polls an email server for messages. It then processes the messages by MFL to xml. The MFL in the example is written as though it will process the email body. But what is sent to the proxy server has the email headers as well. This leads to the error cannot process all mfl as binary to xml. When I send just the email body to the server test harness everything works. Is an email message type proxy service supposed to be able strip or move the email message headers and work just with the body?

Weird. Typically transport headers (in this case email headers) have little influence on the body content. In your case I suspect the emails headers specify a wrong content type or a wrong encoding for the body.

  • E71 - How do I delete email headers?

I've managed to synch over 10,000 emails to my E71 and it's really struggling. The "Delete" menu only appears to have two options
    a) delete on phone and server and
    b) delete on phone only (header remains)
I don't want to delete the emails on the server, I want to delete them on the phone but I don't want 10,000 headers in my inbox either.
    Is there a way?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

People, stop farting around with the s60 email client and get a proper rich client experience with Profimail!
Be careful how you go about deleting emails from your phone!
If you use POP, then you MAYBE/CAN delete from the phone + server as POP email is not a centralised system, meaning whatever changes you make on your client, maynot be reflected back on the server - different email POP clients behave differently so it's a matter of testing.
If you use IMAP, then deleting from the phone + sever WILL DEFINITELY delete your email from the phone & sever because IMAP is a centralised system. Whatever changes you make on your client should get reflected back onto the IMAP server in realtime.
The NEW Nokia Email program (dec 08) is a far better improvement than the previous version, it now supports IMAP & IMAP folders, so give that a go if you don't like the native s60 email application, and too much of a scrooge to spend money on 3rd party applications.
However, keep in mind that eventually Nokia will look at making people 'subscribe' to the Nokia email service, which is an annual cost over & above what you already pay each month/year for your phone bill.
With profimail, it is a one-off cost and the product is so matured that it sh*ts all over BOTH Nokia email programs.
Don't get me wrong, I like Nokia, NO, I LOVE NOKIA. If Nokia were a woman I would steal her a ferrari and ask her to marry me, but it's not..... and Profimail is a far better application by far. The best email client i've used on a mobile device.

  • How do I change the email associated with my IMac cloud to match all my other devices

When I set cloud up on my IMAC I was prompted to use an address from apple and two other Ipads and two other I phones use my normal email address all wouk fine.
How do I change the email address for my I mac/web to the same email I use for all other apple producte I have that use ICloud?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

  • How do I import email and contacts from windows 8 mail to thunderbird

    Hi there,
I have Windows 8 and have been using the Windows 8 mail app. However, it is very basic so I am keen to switch to Thunderbird. However, I cannot find a way to import my mail, folders and contacts to Thunderbird from Windows 8 Mail.
There seems to be no export option on Windows 8 Mail. Thunderbird has an Import option but this is not able to locate the Windows 8 mail files.
There doesn't appear to be answer to this question in the forums. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Mark

The Win 8 Mail app is usually associated with a hotmail/live/outlook.com account, so to access it with TB, set it up as an IMAP account:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/998184#answer-566746
To import the contacts, open the account from the web page, export the contacts as a csv file, and follow the instructions here:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1012084#answer-607601
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Hotmail
Since hotmail/outlook accounts automatically copy sent messages to the Sent folder, uncheck "Place a copy in.." under Tools/Account Settings/<i>hotmailaccount</i>/Copies & Folders.

  • How to setup imap email account on my iMac

I have set up imap accounts on my iphone, macbook pro, and ipad 3 but cannot get it set up on my imac.  It appears as an account but  will not connect and receive messages.

    Hello, is this iCloud/MobileMe/.mac???
If not who is the provider, the part after the @ sign?
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    • Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    • SSL Required: Yes
    • Port: 993
    • Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    • Password: Your iCloud password

    • SSL Required: Yes
    • Port: 587
    • SMTP Authentication Required: Yes

  • How can I delete email on my Comcast server through Mail?

I stumbled across a window in Mail yesterday where I could delete mail right off Comcast.net server through my Mac Mail.
Could someone help me find  this again??
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hey Leroy,
I saw that  but I don't want to pull them off the server into my Mac.  I want to leave them on the server but still be able to go in through Mac Mail and delete them from my Comcast server.  This saves me having to go to Comcast.net and delete them.
I used it yesterday...Accidentally stumbling across that function.  This is my second day on a Mac so please be patient.

  • How to sync new Macbook Pro with 2011 iMAC on Snow Leapord

    Hello,
This is my first post so hello!
My small business has an office iMAC and a Macbook Air both running 10.6.8. The two aren't synced in any way other than that the Air can access files from the iMAC's hard drive via the network. I have 2 email accounts on the iMAC's mail and just one of them set up on the Air.
I've just bought a new 15" Macbook Pro running Lion.
I'd like to be able to sync some folders (but definitely not all), bookmarks, iTunes and mail accounts between the iMAC and the new Macbook Pro. Ideally I'd like to be able to access the shared/synced folders when I don't have an internet connection
    What's the best method?
Snow Leapord doesn't have iCloud does it? If not, why the **** not?
Is it just easiest to set up the email accounts on the new MBP as normal and then use dropbox for the folders I want to share? Can I access the with no internet connection?
One other question, can i link a gmail account to my Apple mail?
    Thanks for any help.
    Best wishes
    Dave.

No.  It was a feature that was introduced with the release of 10.7.2.  I do not know why it was not introduced on earlier versions.  Probably the same reasons why some features will be introduced in later versions of OS X that will not be found on older versions.

  • How do i completely remove headers from email messages

Hi everyone. Can someone tell me how to completely remove the headers from showing up in messages i send, forward or receive? I know how to make the headers shorter, but that's not what i want to do. I want to completely remove them from all outgoing and incoming messages. Thanks!

    Hi lpagillo.
Not sure what you mean. You cannot remove the headers from the messages themselves. If what you want is them to not show up so that they don’t take up space on the screen, choose None in Preferences > Viewing > Show header detail.

  • How can I attach an image without the image is in the email body? (using the new mail the Lion)

How can I attach an image without the image is in the email body? (using the new mail the Lion)
I want in attachment, not in the body mail.

I think your only solution is to zip the image files first and then attach them.
Read this from a site I found:
Sending Graphical Attachments -- When you attach a graphical image to your message, the recipient of your message sees the image inline (that is, in the body of the message) if her email client supports inline display. ("Take Control of Email with Apple Mail" contains a table listing the capabilities of popular Mac and PC email clients.) If a client does not support inline display (or the recipient has turned off the inline display option), the file appears as an attachment that must be opened in a separate program.
On the one hand, an inline image is easier for the recipient to see - all she has to do is look at it. On the other hand, inline images can be frustrating to scroll through. If you do not wish to send a graphical image inline, you must compress the file before attaching it - Mail, sadly, lacks a built-in compression option, though fortunately for Panther users, the Finder offers Zip compression without requiring a separate application.
Note that when you compose a new message, Mail always shows attachments in the body of your message. You can manually drag them somewhere else, but many email clients display all attachments in a separate list, regardless of where you place them in the message body.
If you paste an image into a message or drag & drop an image from another window (say, a Web browser), Mail converts the raw image data to an attachment in TIFF format. On the other hand, if you drag & drop the icon of an image file (or use the Attach button to locate the file using the file browser), Mail leaves the attached image in its original format. This difference is significant, because although most email clients can display JPEG images just fine, support for TIFF - especially in non-Mac email clients - is less common. If possible, I suggest attaching image files as opposed to pasting or dragging in raw image data.

  • How to organize/configure email accounts on iMac

I'm a brand new Mac user, and I really would appreciate some opinions on how to efficiently organize/configure my email accounts.
-previously on Windows XP at home and work, I had an 'office email' address and and a family email address at home that I could access from both computers Iie: all mail went to both locations off the server). Now, I have the iMac at home with a subscription to MobileMe (which I also find a little confusing), the office laptop on Windows and I will have an iPhone in about a week.
My thinking is that I would like to be able to access both work and home emails on the iPhone, and now keep the home and work computers separate. Will this create too much redundancy on the iPhone? I'm just now sure how to best set this up, so I'm wondering what you other users out there do. Also not sure if MobileMe would be useful or best suited for this.
    Thank you,
    Rom

Since you already have Mobile Me, you can keep all your mail "there" (in the "cloud" as they say -out there on Apple's servers) and access it from any of your devices / computers, or any web browser on any computer at any time.
You don't need to "keep" your mail in any once place. Let Apple handle that, you can send & receive from your iMac, your iPhone, wherever. All your devices / computers will "sync up" with Apple's Mobile Me servers and keep everything up to date for you.
Also, if you have exiting accounts that you don't want to stop using, you can use Mail on your iMac and Mail on the iPhone to send & receive from any POP or IMAP mail account (I suggest IMAP -it's the kind that syncs mail where POP just downloads copies to whatever computer you happen to be on). You just need the appropriate server / login information.
For example, I have 4 email accounts for various reasons. 2 Gmail, 1 Mobile Me, and 1 on a domain name I bought (myname.com). ALL that mail is accessible on my iMac, my MacBook and my iPhone at any time.
