How do I log out and sign in with a different name...

My wife and I share an ipad. I downloaded Skype last night and signed in with no problems. My wife now wants to use it but we can't find any way of logging me out and logging her in. I've tried discarding the Skype window but as soon as I bring it back I'm logged in automatically. There doesn't appear to be any "Log out" tab or menu option.
Thanks in advance.

  • How do I log out and log in again to my MacBook Pro?

I need to do this to restore Finale software.  I am referring to the log-in created with my name when I purchased the computer.  I am terrified of losing access to all my files!  I remember being told that there was no way to recoup this info if I lost or forgot it.  I purchased the computer in October 2011, and now have no access to the 3 year Apple support.
In addition, I upgraded to Mavericks in late October 2014.  I have lived to regret that.  I don't know what is going on with Finale, but have been told by their support that I need to follow the directions that I have copied here below.
This is the e-mail from them in its entirety.  I have not done this.  The directions that frighten me the most are #s 13 through 19 below.
I suspect I'm asking a dumb question.  But I do need help.  !!
    From Finale Support (quoted):
After looking through all the information and what you are describing I believe there could be a problem related with permissions. As a troubleshooting step I would like to try the following:
    1. Open your Mac's Applications folder.
    2. In the Applications folder, find your Finale 2012 icon and drag it to the trash. Locate any Finale 2012 icons on your Desktop or Dock and move them to the Trash as well,
    3. In Finder, navigate to Go menu > Go to Folder. Type or copy & paste the following location:
    ~/library/preferences
    4. In your user Preferences folder, find a file named Finale 2012 Preferences. Drag it into the trash.
    5. Also in this folder, you may find a file named Finale 2012 Keymaps (this may or may not exist depending on your system). Drag it to the trash.
    6. In Finder, navigate to Go menu > Go to Folder. Type or copy & paste the following location:
    ~/library/application support/makemusic
Drag the Finale 2012 folder to the trash
    7. In Finder, navigate to Go menu > Go to Folder. Type or copy & paste the following location:
    /library/application support/makemusic
Drag the Finale 2012 folder to the trash
    8. In Finder, navigate to Go menu > Go to Folder. Type or copy & paste the following location:
    /library/preferences
    9. In your system Preferences folder, find and delete these two files:
      Finale 2012 UpdateCheck.txt
      Finale 2012 InstallerVersion.txt
    10. In Finder, navigate to Go menu > Go to Folder. Type or copy & paste the following location:
    /library/receipts
    11. In your Receipts folder, find and delete the following files:
      Any files named "Fin2k........pkg"
      Any files named "MakeMusic....Font.pkg"
    12. Empty your trash.
Create a new account with administrator priviledges:
    13. Quit all applications.
    14. Click the Apple >>System Preferences >> Users & Groups
    15. Click the padlock to make changes and enter your current Mac password.
    16. Click the plus sign and create a new Administrator account. Name the account TEST and give it an easy password to remember.
    17. Click the Apple menu and choose Log Out.
    18. Login to the new test account using the username TEST and the password you set up in step 4.
    19. Restart your computer.
    20. Re-install Finale - Finale 2012 for Macintosh - https://store.makemusic.com/Downloads/Default.aspx?id=510
    21. Re-launch Finale and see if the same problem persists.
Thank you if you can help.

Thank you so much.  I read through the entire article as well as some of its adjuncts; it was very helpful.  I believe I didn't know that was what I was looking for before you answered me.
However, when I FIRST set up this computer (while still at the Apple store, with their guidance) they had me set up what I now believe was the administrator account.  I wish I knew for sure!
They told me that (whatever it was) was unchangeable, and that if I forgot the password, I was doomed.
Is there something at a yet-more-basic (underlying) level than the administrator account?
This "memory" is what haunts me and makes me fearful of logging clear out; I never have done so.  No one else uses this computer.  But I have to log out to use the Test account (that I just created).  I DO know the password for the administrator account and the test account, as I changed them and tested them by unclicking the lock (and then reclosing it when I was.
If I still sound confused, I am  ~  woefully.  Such a basic should not be unknown to me......
Thank you so much for replying.  I hope you see this, and will do so one more time.
    Respectfully,

  • How can I log out and change user in Adobe Creative Cloud?

    seems to me it's impossible

    Hi there,
Once you launch Creative Cloud Desktop Application, select the Gear icon which is located on the top right side of the CC Window and choose 'Preferences'. Under 'Preferences' click on 'Account' tab where you will see 'Sign out' button. Once you click on this button, it Signs out from all the Creative Cloud applications.
The other simple solution is: Once you launch any Adobe Creative Cloud application like Photoshop or Indesign, choose "Help" > Signout. Even this step will deactivates all the other CC applications.
Later, when you launch any application, it would say that it is running in trial version and will prompt you to enter your credentials.

  • How do you set up an email folder with a different name on IPad mini with IOS7

On my computer I have serveral different folders to separate mail as it comes in. How do I do this on my IPad mini IOS 7? There seems to only a very limited number of folders I can use and cannot change their names. Is there a way to separate my incoming mail on my mini IPad as I do on my IMAC?

You can only create folders in the mail app on the iPad if you have an IMAP email account. If your email account was an IMAP account, those folders would have already synced to the iPad. If they are not already on the iPad, your account isn't IMAP and you can't create folders.
The folders that you created on the iMac are for local storage and organization only. The Mac Mail App allows you to do that. There is no such feature for the mail app on the iPad.
Just to be sure and as a double check ..... If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom.
If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

    Turn off iCloud completely
Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only some devices, do one or more of the following:
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
Note:   If you delete your iCloud account, iCloud will no longer back up your iOS data. You can still back up your device in iTunes (for more information, open iTunes and choose iTunes > Help).
On your Mac, open iCloud preferences, then click Sign Out.
If your Mac has OS X v10.7.5 and you turn off iCloud, your calendar information and reminders aren’t stored locally in iCal. If you want to retain your calendar and reminder information, you need to back it up before turning off iCloud. For more information, see the Apple Support article iCloud: Calendar & reminder data removed from Calendar and Reminders or iCal when disabling iCloud Calendar.
On your Windows computer, open the iCloud Control Panel, then click Sign Out.
Note:   If you turned on automatic download of music, app, or book purchases (in iTunes preferences or in Settings on your iOS device), your iTunes purchases are still downloaded to your devices.
Set up iCloud on your devices

    Hello iMessage issues 1234,
Thank you for the details of the issue your daughter is experiencing with sending messages on the iPad.  It sounds like you might have the Subject Field turned on. To disable this go to Settings > Messages > Show Subject Field.

  • Create and sign PDF with IAC?

Hello, does anybody know, how to create simple PDF and sign it with X509Certificate from .NET managed application? It seems to me, that it is not possible with Acrobat Interapplication Communication API. Do I really need LiveCycle for this operation?
    Thank you for help.

When you say "create", do you really mean "convert some other format to PDF" or did you want to start with a blank page and then do things like "draw string", "draw line", etc?
Will this be a desktop or server-based application?

  • How do I log out of itunes on my computer and sign into a different account?

How do I log out of iTunes and sign into a different account? My mom just gave me her computer, and I need to upload my own itunes account on the mac and delete her account.

To log her out try going to the iTunes Store, click on the account name in the upper right corner, and then click "Sign Out".  Next, you'll need to sign in by clicking on the same button in the upper right and then enter  your account information. Once you're logged in I think you should be able to sync your music files or download your past purchases from the store to update your computer.

How do i log out off the app store as it has the wrong email and I can't do my updates as i don't know the password

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store, tap on the Apple ID, and choose 'Sign Out'.
However, logging out of the iTunes & App Store won't change the Apple ID you need to use to update an app.  It only affects what Apple ID you're using to download a new app.
Apps always have to be updated using the Apple ID that was used to download it originally.  Go to iforgot.apple.com to reset that password.  If you cannot do so, then contact Apple Account Security, or delete the app and redownload it using an Apple ID and Password that you know.

  • How do I log out of one account on iChat and into another?

I want to log out of AIM on ichat and into Skype, how do I do it?

    Hi,
In iChat 3, 4 and 5  you can have multiple accounts set up in iChat > Preferences > Accounts.
In iChat 3 it will display one AIM type Name (@mac.com  MobileMe or AIM Name) and one Jabber type plus the Bonjour Account if enabled (total of three Buddy Lists) as a Max.
iChat 4 and 5 can sign in (Log in) to as many accounts as you want to, be they ones that log in to the AIM service or ones that use Jabber.
Logging out can be done several ways.
    1) iChat > Preferences > Accounts
Select  the Account and then Deselect the "Use this Account" option.
    2) In the iChat menu again > Accounts
Select any Ticked account and it will log out and remove the tick (Selecting it again toggle it "On" (logged in)
    3) Click to highlight, bring to the Front any Buddy list
Click and hold the Status Message
    Select Off Line
    4) If you have enabled the Menu Bar iCon in the iChat > Preferences  > General section then you can also use the Menu Bar icon menu once the Buddy list is  the front window.
IF you want to use Skype and IChat at the same time this is possible (you just can't do a Video chat on both at the same time)
You can Quit any app from it's named Menu (i.e the iChat Menu > Quit)
Or Click and hold the DOCK Icon for the App and select Quit.
You cannot use iChat to connect to Skype.

  • HT4865 right now i share an icloud with my sisters phone how do i log out of hers and make my own for my own phone without deleting either of our apps etc?

right now i share an icould with my sister's phone how do i log out of hers and make my own for my phone without deleting either of our apps etc on our phone?

You don't need to worry about apps.  You can continue to share the same ID for the iTunes and App stores but in order to create a new iCloud account you will need to use a different ID (it doesn't need to be the same as your iTunes ID).
To migrate your phone to your own account,  if you have any photos in photo stream that you want to save on your phone, open your my photo stream album and save them to the camera roll by tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  Your sister's phone will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up your new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Once your phone is on its own account, you can go to icloud.com on your computer, sign into your account and manually delete any of your sister's data from your account.  She can also delete any of your data from her account.

  • I changed my appleID and primary email and now I can not access anything. iphone shows my old appleID and I can't log in with my old password but I can not log out and log in with new ID. How do I get iphone to work with my updated ID?

My old nternet account was cancelled and with it my emails. I updated my apple id and password in all my devices (ipad, iphone, imac, except for my moms iphone. I am trying to log out from my old account and set her up with her own apple ID and iCloud etc but it does not let me log out. I have a notebook with all my passwords in it so I know for a fact the password for the old ID/ email is correct yet a window keeps popping up that it is incorrect. I have spent hours reading and trying to fix it myself and nothing is working, same window keeps popping up. Any ideas on what to do? I have an iphone 4S, all software up to date and I made sure my moms phone is also updated. Thank you, any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi ccharat,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5223
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    I hope this helps,
    -Joe
