How do I log out of someone elses itunes account and log into mine?
I am trying to log out of my fiances itunes account so I can set up my new iphone and ipod nano with my itunes account. I cant figure out how to log out of his account! If I plug my phone in while his account is open, wont it delete all of my stuff (apps, contacts) and put all of his stuff on my phone??
It is actually their phone. I logged into my game center account because they already had their account open on their new phone and wanted to play a game against another individual. I am however, no longer in contact with this person and they continue to utilize the account. I did change the password but wanted to confirm that had solved the issue. Thanks for your help!

If by "left side bar", you mean of iTunes on the computer, that's to be expected. All music is copied to the computer when purchased, so logging out of his iTunes Store account and into yours won't affect anything that's already in the iTunes library. If you want your music, playlists, etc to be completely separate from your brother's, set up your own user account in Windows. Then when you log in, you'll have your own iTunes library, totally separate from your brother's, and can buy and import your own content and sync your iPhone without worries.

i was given an ipod touch that is currently logged into someone elses itunes account and i need to log out of there account and into mine, i was thinkingi could do a master reset, but it will not allow me to do so. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Settings>general>resets>erase all content and settings.
That will put it back to its out of the box state. Set it up with your own apple Id. -

CD's you can give to them to rip to their own iTunes. If you do that, legally you are supposed to delete any copies you may have in your posession as you no longer own the content.
For iTunes purchases, they are permanently tied to the account they were purchased with.
You can always gift the content via iTunes to your friend, purchase and give them CD's, or let them buy their own copies. -

iTunes account is not the same as iTunes library.
iTunes account is what you use to purchase from iTunes.
iTunes library is what is on your computer.

We purchased an iPod touch for my son. He is using my iTunes account and all of my and contacts are on his phone. How can I set it up so his iPod is HIS and he doesn't share my stuff without giving him an iTunes account?
For contacts and calendar , all yo have to do is turn of syncing the calendar and contacts in the Info pan for the iPod in iTunes and in Settings>iCloud (if applicable) and then deleting the the contacts and calendar entries from the iPod. He can them maintain his own contacts and calendar.

I have an ipod that's signed onto my moms account but I recently got an iPhone so I made my own account. Can I log off my moms account on my ipod and into mine without things interfering I don't want her apps contacts or music and she doesn't want mine. I don't want that to happen but I don't want to reset my Ipod and will I lose my pictures by signing out?
If you log out in Settings>iTunes and App Store nothing will be deleted from the iPod.
If y go to Settings>iCoud and deleted the iCloud account from the iPod (there is log out) the contacts. calendar, Notes and Reminder gets deleted from the iPod only.
The ID is also used in Setting>Game Center, Settings>FaceTime, and Settings>Messages>Send and Receive. -

What are you talking about?
An account is just a username and password with which you purchase content.
You can sign into your account from any computer/device with itunes.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put your content on your new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries.

What do I need to do to get my music from my itunes library onto my phone? I originally added music from a diffnerent itues account, and now that I am trying to add from my own it will not transfer...however, in the bar on the bottom of itunes it shows that it is on my phone...but it does not display anywhere else and I cannot find it in my phone. Do I need to connect to the original itunes account and delete that music in order for my library to show?
As you connect your ipod to iTunes, an option in the upper right of the screen will appear. When you click this, it will show the different menu for your ipod.

I'm trying to connect an iPad mini to my iMac and get a message indicating that the IPad mini cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. However, the iPad mini is only 2 months old so I would have thought it would have the latest version installed.
