How do I make a composite snapshot in CS5?

How do I do a composite snapshot using Photoshop CS5. I know it can be done using CS6, but am not having any luck using Control + shift + alt + E?

Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E is the shortcut for Stamp Visible Layers. It does not always work it depends on things. For example if the top layer is the current target and its visibility is off. Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E will do nothing. It also sometimes it adds a new layer and stamps the composite of the visible layers into it. However if the current targeted layer is empty a new layer will not be added instead the composite will be put into the current empty layer targeted.
I use stamp visible all the time and use it in actions so I create them in a way that always works. Shortcut Shift+Ctrl+Alt+N+E well that is a cheat. For it is actually two shortcuts Shift+Ctrl+Alt+N followed by Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E. Add new empty layer without prompt followed by stamp visible layers. When you add a new empty layer it becomes the Photoshop target. Therefore Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E will always work and the composite will be in the new layer. In action I usually follow that with Shift+Ctrl+] to move that new layer to the top of the stack. For where the new layer get added depends on the current target when the layer is added.
Shift+Ctrl+Alt+N Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E was how you had to do this before I think CS3. For Before that release Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E would not add a layer. I believe it was in CS3 that Adobe changed the way Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E worked. IMO Adobe didn't do the best job they could have.

Hi,
The latests udev scare has shown me two things: you can rely on the community to fix this (thanks Tobias!) and a good backup/snapshot is worth its wheight in gold.
What manual do I read/study/understand to make a system snapshot before upgrading? I rely on the fallback now, but... the current system (the one that does not work that well) will become the ... fallback after update and that's not a good prospect...unless I'm mistaken!

@ tomk : no offense taken, but, I stil consider myself a newbe (but I am a newbe that IS willing to learn...), so the question is "what to learn and what to learn first?", okay, so there are some things you mentionned I need to learn, but Linux is NOT just a hobby for me. Edit : Okay, some options have come up...in the answers posted...including one post elswhere from one Enlightened Spirit - who also has my profound gratitude.
I have understood (from the stuff I read) that the fallback is "merely" (using this word cautiously) an all-in-one package while the standard kernel is a fine tuned set. Hence, since there is "just what is needed", there is nothing to "fall back" on...the difference in size (1.4Mb - 7.9Mb) tells tales.
I looked into rsync too, okay, that, in combo with a weekly cron job and one to be run before updates, should be all I need to be secure...

Hello there!
First you are going to want to start a new file. File > New. This brings up the new file dialog. Enter in the document sizes that you want. I also set the pixels at 300.
This is the new document that was made. You can begin from here dragging and dropping the photos that you want to make your collage with.

How do I make sure that Media Encoder CS5 encodes into stereo

I have created an extra channel in Soundbooth to create 'stereo'. The updated file in Premiere Pro shows the new file name, and the audio wave now shows in stereo.
Because this the video is to be used for an Adobe Captivate CS5 project, the video has since been broken into subclips, some to be retained as video; others to be used as audio narration behind PPT slides.
My problem is this:
Media Encoder encodes the Audio subclips (MP3) correctly as stereo.
Media Encoder encodes the Video subckps as Mono, even although the Stereo radio button has been selected.
The variation between one channel for video, and stereo behind the PPT slides is distracting.
In addition, there is a lot of noise on the both Audio, and Video files. It was not there in Soundbooth.
I would really appreciate help, as this problem is preventing me from completing the Captivate project. Because this is for Distance education (Higher) which involves a lot of listening, quality of sound is very important.

Sounds like Media Encoder is actually recording the audio as a stereo file but the audio is panned to one side.
Check that you haven't accidentally panned the audio in the mixer to one side.

We would like a form to display the following information:
Employee Names as the columns, 1 row for each calendar day, and each item in the block containing the total sales amount (and other information) for that employee for that day.
This would require the block to function as a (composite) crosstab report.
Here is an example:
We have employees: Jane, John, Jim, and Janice
We would like to see their total sales for the following days: 5/1 .. 5/5

We have a table with records of each day, for each employee, and their sales for that day.
There is a possibility our list of employees can change as well as the number of days.
Anyone tried doing anything like this with a form? We don't want to just embed a report because we would like to include other data as well besides what is mentioned above and we would like them to be able to change some of that data. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a VERY similar problem where I want to have this matrix on the form with six days worth of data (three columns for each day) for my data table. I have done as Momen has suggested and created a view (using SQLPLUS):
create table weekdays (weekday varchar2(3), date_x date);

that hopefully provides a row for each day of the week for my data table. The view is created OK but I'm not sure how to get it into the form properly. Also, I am using the form to CREATE rows in the data table not just SELECT and DISPLAY and there may or may not be a row of data for a corresponding day which is going to be a problem for me using this view method, I think. Let me know how this goes and if you get your form to work and how? Momen, your method appeals to me but it's not 100% clear how to get it to work in a form?

Afraid not.
You can make composite images with a Photo Editor and use that.
In order of price here are some suggestions:
Seashore (free)
The Gimp (free)
Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
Acorn ($50 approx)
Pixelmator ($50 approx)
Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

1. Deleting a domain will not hold any references. But make sure that under your user_projects/applications also remove the folder that matches with your domain. Basically under user_projects folder you will see 2 folders named applications and domains. When you create a domain say mySoaDomain, it will crate a folder with the same name under applications folder also with few files like em.ear. If you do this, then you can crate a new soa domain and use the same old name.
2. NOW comes the most important thing. If you create a new SOADomain, at one point, you had to give details for soainfra and mds schemas. If you give your current existing db details (that was used for your old deleted domain), then you may still have the issues. Because the soainfra db may still have the instances for your old process.
3. If you really want to have a full clean soa domain, here is what you do:
a) Run rcu and drop the existing schemas for soainfra and mds.
b) Run rcu again and create above schemas again.
c) Now create SOADomain using config wizard and refer above clean rcu db and you are all set.
3. Under your domain root folder, just searh for files named with your workflow and you should see the .jar location.

Make a matte in Photoshop.
From the Photoshop menu bar: File > New > Film & Video Presets. Choose one that suits your FCP project pixel dimensions. Make the background black. Place a white rectangle with rounded corners on top (the white will determine how much of your picture is visible). Flatten Image. Save as TIFF. Import into FCP.
Move your video clips up to V2. Place the imported TIFF on V1. Highlight all clips on V2.
Go to Modify > Composite Mode > Travel Matte Luma. Done.
If you want soft edges, no need for a matte. Double click your clip to place it in the Viewer. Open up the Motion tab > Crop > Edge Feather. Nice and quick. Copy and Paste attributes for the other clips.

I did all of that but still I couldnot edit the document.
I was prompted to subscribed to a program in order to do the editing in
the PDF doument. I have adobe. I paid $ 19+ and followed the
instructions to download the program of which I did, but I just could
not edit anything in the document.
