How do I make a dotted line in Illustrator?

I've figured out how to make a dashed line (under Stroke), but how do I make a dotted line? Little round circles, one after the other that I can resize, turn into a circle, stick to a path?

The string of pearls was done on CS2
The orange "pearls" had a stroke weight of 40 pt, Dash 0, Gap 42 and a new black stroke behind with a weight of 42 pt.
Then the stroke was copied, coloured just white and moved a bit to make the white "highlights". Weight 10 pt, Dash 0, Gap 42.
I suppose, if one could be bothered, it would be possible to make a string of pearls with alternating big and small pearls by using a combination of dash settings on New Strokes. Should work all right as long as the Dash is a constant or an exact multiple. I can't be bothered!
I don't understand that bit about having the last gap as 0. The pearls came out fine with just one setting for the dash and one for the gap. The other boxes weren't filled in.

This may vary depending on what version of crystal you are using.
Right click on the graph & go to 'chart options' & choose 'Grids'
In the grids pane go to the grids tab. From there check the 'draw custom line at' and specify where you want to draw the custom line.
Once the line is drawn highlight the line, right click and go to 'chart options' & 'selected item'.
select what format you want the line to look like (choose the dashed one).

you can use one tween to move your line from the side of the screen, then another (shape) tween to bend it into a circle. you will probably need to use shape hints for the 2nd tween.

JTree uses a specific line style to represent the edges between nodes. The default is no edges, but we can set JTree�s lineStyle client property so that each parent node appears connected to each of its child nodes by an angled line:

It is not a menu, but an annotated screen grab of the box item you need to click for each selected row.
Click Format in the Toolbar. Click your table. Select the first row. In Pages v5.2.2, select the Cell tab, and then click Border to get it to expand, which shows the screen grab box that I put the red mark into so you would click there. In Pages v5.5, Apple has re-engineered the border layout in the Cell tab as shown below:

How do I make my "off-line" printer go on-line?

I am a new MacBook user. I have windows network. I installed printer CUPS driver for my brother 7820N printer. can print when connected directly with USB. MB recognizes printer when not connected directly...must be going through the wireless network. try to print and little printer icon on DOCK starts jumping...says printer is Off-Line. can see the files in the queue.
Any ideas on how to make the printer "on-line"? Thank you.

My Brother 2170-W printer just began giving me the same "off-line" message I called Brother support and they were very responsive and said it was a problem with the new OS 10.5.5 update and they would have a patch shortly (in a week maybe?).

I can't find where to darken GRID lines on a table in the new Pages. I can make the outline more bold, but not the grid lines within the table. Is there a way to do this? The default grid lines are far too faint.

If you select the block of cells that you want to change, then in the Format inspector:
Select the Cell tab
Expand the Border section
Set a line type
Set a line width
Choose a line color
Choose one of the nine options for which borders get the new settings

If it does not need to be neat, just use the pencil tool. The only other option would be to check the properties of a line you make and see if there is a format option, I don't remember seeing one.

How do I make a multi-line heading show up as a single line in the Table of Contents?

I'm writing a document where the headings often have a line break in them for the sake of formatting. When I generate a Table of Contents, they show up as two entries on the same page instead of as a single heading.
For example, if I have a section like:

Then in the table of centents it shows up as something like:
