How do I make a labview exe to run like a windows on-screen keyboard

Hi,
I am trying to run two labview exe simultaneously. Work of exe 1 is to control some hardware and work of exe 2 is to wait for user event, once user press a button in exe 2 it has to exit the exe 1 and restart it.
Problem here is exe 1 uses the whole screen to run(1024*768), when I click any button in exe 1 the exe 2 goes backwards so I am not able to use the exe 2.

I have a macbook pro 13" 2008 with 8 gb of ram that has been showing stuttering in hd video lately (or maybe when i upgraded to lion). How do you make "Acrobat X Pro" open the "combine pdf" window in the foreground?
I am using a "Windows 7" computer at work with "Acrobat X Pro" and I'm constantly combining
pdf's and tiff's in Acrobat.
It would be nice if when I select 30 or 40 files to combine, the
"Combine Supported Files in Acrobat" window would open in the
foreground, not behind the 10 or so windows already open.
I have been researching this for some time now with no solution.
If the answer is that "IT CAN'T BE DONE", then that's fine. At least
I will have an answer and can stop searching. If (as I suspect) it can
be done, then kindly supply me with "step by step" instructions.

Something that works (provides Acrobat the application precedence in the OS that is requisite for this) --
Minimize the 10 or so application windows before engaging use of Acrobat's "combine".
That'll let the Acrobat dialog windows display front and center.

How to make my Labview vi program run at the same time everyday?

I have Labview vi that uses "Time Stamp Control & Indicator" on front panel to set time & date for program operation.
But, I cannot separate the Date from the Time for Start & Stop control.
I want pgm to run everyday (7days/week) at the same time (e.g. 8am to 630pm) - I don't care about the start & stop Date feature.
So, everyday I have to manually open the Control & change the date to today.
How can I make program only respond to Time start & stop?

Of course rather than create yet something else that is running all the time, setup your VI to only execute for the desired amount of time, If you running windows you can use the task scheduler to launch it.

Puts the burden on the OS and is not dependant on you starting it everytime you reboot, or having to put it in the start menu. there are options for it to run even if you are not logged onto the system.
Although not absolutely certain, I am reasonably sure that mac and linux also have something similar.

I am using labview8.0 with teststand 3.1
I have developed some labview codemodules as vi's without using the teststand utility library pallete
Now i have to run them in teststand.
While executing them(as a sequence) in teststand,i need to enter the data to the labview code at run time.For this labview front panel should appear as GUI or popup (while executing).Is it possible to do this without using teststand pallete.
or i need to change the code with teststand pallete(i think it is difficult now to change the code)
Plz provide a solution to this problem
Also one more,how and where to use the 'pass by reference' option

Also, you can, specify to display the front panel of your VI when you specify your VI in your sequence file.
There are examples, for dialog panel using LabVIEW, in the examples folder of TestStand and on the NI Web Site.

I'm trying to make my video clip move from one side of the screen to the next, please help.

Double-click on the clip in the Timeline to load it into the Viewer. Click on the Motion tab and use the controls in the 'Basic Motion' section. Set a beginning keyframe for each control that you want to change over the duration, then reposition the playhead and make the adjustment(s) - new keyframes will be created if they differ from the initial keyframes you set.
It's even easier if you set the Canvas window to Image+Wireframe and manually scale, rotate and center the image.
This is pretty basic stuff and you should find plenty of information on how to perform these types of effects in the user's manual/help files. For much more comprehensive instructions, pick up a copy of Kevin Monahan's book "Motion Graphics and Effects in Final Cut Pro"

How to convert a DVD of EXEs to run on a Mac?

The government where I'm working has distributed DVDs with teacher's guides and course materials to teachers and volunteers working on a new environmental education project. When I loaded the DVD into my SuperDrive, the DVD title showed up under "Devices" in Finder windows, but it was grayed-out and couldn't be opened. (I had to go into Terminal and use "drutil eject" to get it out.)
Today I tested the DVD in a Windows laptop and it worked without any problems. The interface is composed of Flash EXEs. I can access all of the other files on the disk -- PDFs, PPTXs, &c. -- but they're all in one directory and not always well-named. I'd like to be able to use the interface to access the files when I present to my students.
Does anyone know of a program I can run to convert this DVD into something useable on my Mac? I do have access to a Windows laptop, and I was looking into DVD-to-ISO programs this morning, but I don't know if that would solve the problem of the interface being EXEs. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you

I know this, that's why I'm asking if there is a way to convert the EXEs to something that can run on Mac OS.
Presently there is no way for me to legally install Windows on my laptop, though I do have access to a Windows laptop if there is some way for me to convert the files on the DVD.

I've built an application using the FT8U245AM from FTDI. This is a chip that converts signals into usb signals. Now I want to set parameters using labview. There is a driver provided with the chip, that makes it possible to turn the usb port into a virtual com-port. But how do I continue from here? Do I write my application as if it were a classic serial port device, using VISA, or is it more complicated than this?

We had an RS-232 design that communicated with LabVIEW via the plain old serial commands here that needs to be converted to USB and CAN.
A serial-USB chip was inserted to account for the hip USB transition. As i've been told by the electronics designer, it worked without a flaw (I don't remember the type used however).

I know I need a DAQ device, what would work best for this particular CCD? After I got that connected, I need to create a LabVIEW program that displays the light detected by my CCD. I'm not sure the type of signal that is generated as an input to a DAQ device. This could either be an analog or digital input. The signal type will determine how you make your program in LabVIEW. You will also need to correlate the signal level to the light detected. That will be determined by your sensor. I don't have any programs or templates for this, but if you look at the basic analog or digital input examples, you might get a good starting point for DAQ device programming.

How to not lock up LabVIEW exe by printing?

I've seen various forms of this question; but they are all from 2002 or earlier. I am using LV 6.1 on Windows 2000 (and XP). My test station is set up using Windows 2000, so that is what I am currently troubleshooting.
I have a program that needs to run continuously updating a waveform graph on the screen; meanwhile, after recieving a digital signal, I need to do some statistical calculations and print out two pages of a report. The problem is that once I start running the routine starts printing out the reports (they are just VIs that print the front panel when complete) my waveform graph, and the rest of the GUI stops executing for about a minute and a half.
The printer I am printing to is connected via windows networking (it is a shared printer from a server, also running Windows 2000). I've looked at the different printing options (standard, postscript, and bitmap) but none of them really help any in terms of freeing up the cpu for my program to continue updating its front panel. The most 'freeze-time' I can accomodate in the program is 10 seconds; as the user may need to make additional time-critical (or, at least things that can't wait a minute and a half) requests on the system at that time.
Are there any ideas as to how I can improve the speed of this process? I know that it lies within the printing, because if I 'comment out' the printing portion only; things run just fine. I've tried building a separate executable in LV that just handles the printing, but this still does not solve my problem.

I had this problem before LabVIEW 5.1, before LabVIEW became multithread.
My solution was: embed postscript code in LabVIEW, bypass Windows print spooller, send postscript code directly to a local postscript printer on LPT1.
The reason it works is because that instead of sending a big image I sent postscript code which can be splitted to a few lines at a time. That minimize the lockup time to < 9 ms.
With LabVIEW 6.1, you shouldn't have this problem. You might want check the multithread settings. See attached image.

How to add code in labview exe so that exe don't depend on code

Hey everybody,
I am using labview 8.5. I build exe of my code using snapshot folders. After solving conflicts when exe is created. I remove the code from disk but this gives error when exe is executed. I want to build a exe that don't depend on code. I mean i want to get rid of code so that only exe is enough to execute.

My main VI is calling many subVIs. Except for these subvis different modules code is present in folders, these folders also include ini files and text based command files. Now when i add these code folders as snapshot and after solving for errors and conflicts. I add these folders to always included section and my main VI as source code. When i build for exe, there is no errors and code exe is generated. This exe works fine if code is present at disk. If i remove the code from disk the exe stops proper execution and gives error. Please tellme if there is any special considerations for making exe that don't depend on code.

How can I make the LabVIEW CGI write to the same client window twice?

I'm building a CGI VI using LabVIEW 6i and the Internet Dev. Toolkit. I would like this VI to write to the same client browser window twice. The first reply will just be a confirmation that the form has been submitted, and the second reply will be the results from a measurement. Is there any way this can be done? I have tried to use the "CGI Write Reply.vi" twice in the same CGI VI, but only the first reply is received in the client window.

Very nice interface! It sounds like you might want two separate steps and two separate CGIs (or one CGI with a "step" flag). Here's one idea:
1. Pass the configuration info from the form, initiate the measurement, and return a confirmation page to the user. Embed something in the result page (a hiddden variable on a second form, perhaps?) that will identify the measurement that was requested upon a subsequent CGI call.
2. Either have the second form/CGI automatically submit itself after time T, or else allow the user to submit it. Use the hidden variable to identify which results set is being requested. If the measurement is finished, return the results; otherwise, return another confirmation page with a new time estimate.
