How do I make a project in Garage Band sound finished.

I don't know how to make the ends of my loops sound like they are finished at the end of my project. Most of them just kind of end with no sense of being complete.

Probably the easiest way is to just fade the song out via the Volume Curve in the Master Track. You can look up either of those terms in GB's help for more info on them
Hope that helps

  • How does one MAKE a LIBRARY for GARAGE BAND to IMPORT?

I have been looking for some kind of SDK that would allow the creation of a library for GB and allow the sharing of libraries that multiple production teams can use.

So then your question is: How do I script an Installer (?)
More often than not, companies simply create a Disk Image because all you need to install a group of loops is to drop their folder on the GB Loop Browser. That's it.
The Jam packs install a lot more than just loops, so an Installer is required. Adding loops is so simple it's generally hard to justify the extra effort and man power.
However, if you really want to go through the extra effort, and for whatever reason, your project actually requires it, then you might want to become an ADC member:

  • While creating a project in Garage Band my sample tracks were cut short then overwritten in soundtrack pro. Any ideas why? and how to get my tracks back?

While creating a project in Garage Band 09 my sample tracks were being cut short- I then discovered they had been overwritten in soundtrack pro.
Any ideas why? and how to get my tracks back?
I never opened soundtrack pro to edit the track just Garage band....the track just mysteriously saved as half the track.
I am running Lion and I upgraded my Garage band to '11 hoping it would resolve the issue...it didn't. Now I can't find that tracks at all.
The 2 songs having the issue are titled Exotic Yearning and Reunion.
I am in the process of reinstalling the audio content from my discs. I just don't want to run into this again.
Any thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

After spending some time reinstalling the soundtrack pro 3 content I opened the full track called Reunion.
It showed back up in Garage Band.*It was the full track and wasn't chopped off until I dragged it onto the project. Then it showed up chopped.
Then I closed Garaged band and opened soundtrack pro 3....The song was again chopped off at the 1:33min mark
    Very Frusterated...:(

  • How i can  Make the project exectued program

    Hi all
please how i can Make my project an exectued program
i used the compiler of JBuilder (Borland)
and i want to make exe program
    how i can do that?
    thank's
    karfer

I'm not familiar with JBoreland IDE, but is there a way to export your project .jar file?
If so than theres your solution. .Jar files just need to be exected (IE: Double click.) Also if this isn't the appropriate solution than you can export to a .jar file and use JSmooth to turn your .jar file into a .exe. For any other solutions I suggest you look on google.

    Google 'Free File Share'
one example is http://www.mediafire.com/ These sorts of services are free but can cap the file size. Media Fire limit there free service to 200mb. Depending on the size of your project you may have to upgrade to paid services.

  • How do you work the crossfades in Garage Band 10?

I had generated crossfades throughout my project in Garage Band 10 (10.0.1) that joined different takes of recording but now it won't let me edit existing or create new crossfades within this project or others. Is there a way to turn the function on/off? I'm not sure what I've done to make it stop working now

Are you talking about crossfades of Audio Regions? I didn't know that GarageBand can do that. Or do you refere to Auotmation Curves?

how to connect external keyboard to the garage band if its possible,
is any body tried ? I have roland e66 keyboard and im trying to
connect with grage band but i dont know thats is possible??

You can definitely just connect a mouse and keyboard and then an external monitor and it will work. In the power options in the Windows control panel you will have a choice as to what happens when the lid is closed. Set it to "do nothing" and then you can shut the lid of the laptop and use only the external monitor.

  • Open imovie project in garage band

    Hi,
I am trying to do mulitiple tracks in imovie, with music, voice-over, etc. and I want to hear my voice-over at the same time as the music, to match timing. This is not possibe via imovie, as one's voice-over obscures everything else, so the timing with the music is out.
I thought that I could export the imovie project to garage band, synch the music and voice-over and send it back.
I "shared" the imovie project to the media browser,
now what? Where did it go?
Can I in fact use garage band in the manner I have described above?
Can't get any joy from the garage band help.
    Any ideas welcome.
    Thanks.

Can I in fact use garage band in the manner I have described above?
    Sure, you can!
To use the movie in GarageBand, click the MediaBrowser icon in the lower right corner of the GaragBand window. Click the "Movies" tab and click disclosure triangle beside the iMovie icon. Now you should see your project.
Select it. Inthe lower part of the Media Browser you see the different sizes of your movie. Select on of them and drag them to the time line.
If your movie has an Audio track you will here it when you play your song and you should be able to play or sing  along with the Movie-audio track and record your vocals. Then I would export the vocal track and import it to iMovie and mix the two tracks in iMovie.

  • Use garage band sounds in other applications?

I've never had any need to use Garage Band, but have heard that the sounds are good... is there a way to use Garage Band sounds with a DAW, specifically, Digital Performer?
    Thanks

What do you men with sounds?
    Apple Loops
Apple Loops are just aiff file with additional metadata. You can even play them in iTunes. However I heard that DP can utilize the Tempo Match and Key Match feature.
    Plugins
GarageBand support two Plugin standards. AU Plugins and Logic-Plugins. GarageBand doesn't come with any AU-Plugins only Logic Plugins but DP doesnt support them, they are an Apple proprietary format.
    Drummer
The drummer is nothing other than a sophisticated EXS24 Sampler (a Logic Plugin), therfore no support in DP. If you have a lot of time on your hand, you can access the individual audio samples and build your own sampler that can be used in DP.
    Settings
All the other sound settings are just settings files that are only compatible inside the Apple ecosystem of audio apps (GarageBand, Logic, MainStage)
This ecosystem comes in handy when moving between those apps. Now you can create sounds and settings in Logic and use them in GarageBand or MainStage. Here is screenshot from my new GarageBand book "GarageBand X - How it Works" that illustrates that ecosystem
    Hope that helps

  • How can I send and share a Garage Band 10 project to my bass player to add his part.

    MBP, OS 10.9.4 4G RAM
    Garage Band 10.0.2

I want to send this project to my bass player to add his part. He also has GB10.0.2 After he would records his part he would send it back to me to add additional parts.
What is the best/least complicated way to accomplish this while maintaining the integrity of the file(s). via the net, or the iCloud or Drop Box?
Drop box seems very unfamiliar to me.
    thanks for the help

    Hello léonie
    I have tried your advice
this DB folder icon does not stop spinning for several minutes and I can't do anything until it updates!?
In the public folder I see the file, I then select compress, then I copy THAT as a public link, the actual file will not let me 'copy public link', but it will let me put it somewhere on Dropbox.com
I select Copy Public Link, go to MAIL, new mail, paste link, send to myself as a test
So, this is good now that I have tried it and gotten over the impatience of the Drop Box pull down menu updating.
I have sent the file to my self and it has gone to the download folder on my MBP, this is good, I double click and it opens in GB to work on.
DROP BOX??? How do I clear this stuff because it seem to update every time I do something with DB?
I was not able to see how to 'clear history' or what ever.
I know this is not an Apple GB question but it's all linked to the effectiveness of music production and collaboration.
I am so please to receive your assistance and my bass player is too.
    Thanx

  • How do you make the project bin window Not come up in quick edit in PE9?

A few weeks ago I started to notice the Project Bin coming up whenever I went to quick edit. I don't think it did it before that. I always have to go to windows and uncheck it to get more screen space to work with.
How do I get the Project Bin to Not automatically come up when I press Quick edit in Premier Elements 9?

This is the Premiere Elements forum.
Quick Edit is a function of Photoshop Elements. If this is a question about Photoshop Elements, you're more likely to get an answer in the Photoshop Elements forum.

  • How do you make the project bin window Not come up in quick edit?

How do I get the Project Bin to Not automatically come up when I press Quick edit in Photoshop Elements 9?

Yes, thanks, I understand how to close it by what you said and also clicking on Project Bin title bar.
I would like to know how to change the default so the project bin does not automatically open when I open quick edit.
Anybody know how to change the default to do this?

  • How do I make iMovie projects play in Windows Media Player?

How do I make movies that I have created in iMovie play in Windows Media PLayer having been transferred by memory stick or email? This would be ideal to know because my school's computers are PCs and our main computer is an iMac.

By far the easiest way is to have the school install the free QuickTime Player (Windows Version) from Apple.
Otherwise, you can buy a version of Flip4Mac that will enable you to do the conversion using QuickTime Pro or MPEG Streamclip.

  • How can I make the project into 16:9 when using 2 4:3 aspect ratio videos in project

I want to make a project that is 16:9 but am adding a video of a talking head (speaker) fimed in 4:3 and I want to place that in upper left corner of project and then add a video of the powerpoint they were speaking to also filmed in 4:3

There are a number of challenges to doing this, including the fact that doing so will require lots of rendering and the even bigger fact that, if you're planning to show this on a TV, up to 10% of the edge gets cut off, which means that any text you've got outside of the "safe zone" might be off the screen.
But, with those caveats, place the upper left corner video on Video 1, select it and open Applied Effects. Open Motion and set the Position and Scale so that your video sits in the upper right corner.
Add your images to Video 2 and do the same thing, setting Position and Scale so that it is in the lower left of your screen. Then add you main video to Video 3 and set its Position and Scale so that it is in the right 2/3 of your video frame.
As I say, there are a number of potential problems with this kind of composite, so I'd recommend you do a very short test composition first, then output it and show it on the device or web site you hope to display it. That way you'll get the bugs out before you go investing a week's work into something that has you scrambling to fix at the last minute.

  • I'm Just wondering how to make drum beats in garage band using the sounds it comes with? Also how can i use garage band like a drum machine which i can program an entire song part by part????

I'm new to using Garageband and loops with garage band. I just wanted to see if there was a way for me to use the drum sounds provided in garageband to create my own original drum tracks and work with it like a drum machine that i can program an entire song into... any info or tutorials would be a great help.. Thanks!!!

Ah ok, I have a better idea of what you want to do now.
Unfortunately there isn't anything inside GB that can come anywhere close to Acoustica Beatcraft, but there are two tools inside Garageband that can help you do something similar.
First are the built-in keyboards, which will enable you to trigger drum samples with your computer keyboard or mouse.  Go to Window -> Keyboard or Window -> Musical Typing.  Click with your mouse on the Keyboard or press keys on your computer keyboard with Musical Typing, and you will trigger different drum samples for whatever kit you've chosen for that software track.
Next is the Track Editor: in Piano Roll mode, you can create and see midi notes somewhat similar to the view in this screenshot from AB.  On the left side of the Editor, you will see a sideways piano keyboard.  When you assign a drum kit to a software track, each of the piano keys corresponds to a different instrument: hi hat, snare, bass drum, etc---you'll have to play them using the on-screen keyboard or musical typing to see what they correspond to.   In order to add a MIDI note you hold the CMD button and click with the mouse.
So, if you wanted to add a closed hi-hat hit, you would CMD-click on the Track Editor row corresponding to the closed hi-hat piano key, and then you can drag the MIDI note left & right to change the beat it plays on, or resize the note, which will change its duration.
Or, as you've already observed, you can use Musical Typing to play out a pattern on your computer keyboard while recording, and you will see the midi notes appear in real time in the Track Editor.
Hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions.
