How do I make a ringtone for my iphone 4 from my itunes music?

So, I got my iphone 4 today and it's great, I just want to be able to use my existing music in itunes to make some ringtones. I have followed a few guides I found online but it just isn't working!
Can anyone help?

i have downloaded new ringtones for my iphone but my itunes dashboard does not show ringtones on it , so i can't put them on my phone.Am i doing something wrong. The ringtones were bought from i tunes.

Tones is the new name for Ringtones. If the entry is missing in the left-hand column of iTunes then enable it from Edit > Preferences > General tab.
If your existing tones are not syncing properly to your iOS device then uncheck the option to Sync Tones from the Tones tab when the device is connected, sync the device, check the option and sync again.

  • How do I get custom ringtone off my iPhone and into iTunes

I recently reformatted my laptop and now I need to get my ringtones off my iphone and into itunes so I can back them up but when i check sync tones, iTunes is telling me it will erase all tones on my iPhone 4 and replace with tones on current iTunes library (and there are no tones on current iTunes library.)  Is there a way to save my ringtones that Ive created that are only on my iPhone?

Bump?  Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

  • How do I make a ringtone for free using iTunes 8.2.1 on Windows Vista?

**Hi, I recently bought a new comp and went from an older version of iTunes to 8.2.1, and now operate on Windows Vista. I used to be able to create a 30sec AAC version of a song and change the format to m4r which made in into a ringtone, but either I'm doing something wrong or I forgot a step or Vista or iTunes 8.2.1 won't let me. What are the steps for this process?**

I wanna know too!! I had no problem making ringtones before from songs on my computer and then adding them to itunes, but now it doesn't seem to work. I can actually make the ringtone and add it to itunes and it will play, but it won't sync to my phone (phone doesn't even recognize the ringtone when I try to plug it in and sync).
The only real difference now is I used to have an iPhone 3G and now I have the 3GS.

  • How can I make tree view for hierarchical data from select with connect by?

If we have selected hierachy with connect by clause, how can we make it to see in tree view?

You can't do this using the ADF, Tree Binding used by JHeadstart.
However, If you have a recursive relationship (for example managerid) you can get a tree what you want as follows:
    - create one root ViewObject that returns the top-level employees without a manager by setting the where clause to managerid=null
    - create a second ViewObject that simply queries all employees
    - Create a ViewLink between the two view objects, and create a nested VO usage in the app module for the second view object
    - Create corresponding nested group in the application definition file and set the layout style to "tree-form" on both groups.
See Developers Guide, chapter 3, section recursive trees for more info.

  • How can I create a ringtone using a song from my itunes library?

I have installed a number of ringtone apps for my iphone to create a special ringtone. I have followed all the steps adding the tune to my itune library, but am unable to complete the final step of moving the tune from the library to 'tone' and then syncing the tune to my iphone as a ringtone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In iTunes pref>General - is the Tones option enabled?
When you plug in the Device - from the DEvies window go to the Tones tab at the top and select the Tones that you want to laod on the iPhone.

  • HT1212 How can I zero the password on my iphone from me itunes account? The phone has a smashed screen and I want to back it up before I replace it but none of the sliders are working due to the smashed screen?

My iphone has a smashed screen and my laptop which it was connected to has died under warrantee and been replaced. I am going to replace my iphone but want to back it up first. Unfortunately the screen wont work and there is a password on it meaning I cant access it from my itunes account on the new laptop. How can I disable the password from itunes and back up the phone. It wont turn off or activate any sliders.

You can't disable the password.  If you could, what would be the point of having one?

  • Am I able to buy ringtones for my iPhone on the iTunes on my computer?

I just got the new iPhone 4S, I've never had an iPhone before so I really don't know what I can and can't do on it.
But I'm trying to get a new ringtone from iTunes and I was wondering if I only have access to the "ringtones" section of iTunes from my phone and not my computer.
    Thanks

    Hi Melita,
I just did a search on the iTunes Store on my computer and currently don't see Ringtones as an option to view. To make sure you're using the iPhone 4s to its fullest possibilities, you should look at these manuals: http://support.apple.com/manuals/iphone/. You'll find all kinds of neat things you can do with it!

  • Can you make custom ringtone for iPhone 4 w/o using iTunes?

My computer crashed and I had to redownload iTunes and all my music the other day. I plugged my iPhone 4 in to put a custom ringtone I made in iTunes on it and it says it wants to "erase and sync" my phone since it was connected to my old iTunes. Is there a way to fix this or is there a way to make a new custom ringtone for my iphone without using iTunes?

you're better off creating new ringtones.  Take a look at the first link I gave you, that will answer all your questions.

  • How to add custom ringtones on new iPhone 5, using iTunes 11.04 on Mac OS 10.7.5

how do I add custom ringtones on new iPhone 5, using iTunes 11.04 and Mac OS 10.7.5?

Are you meaning rintones that you create from existing files?
If so - then Google and you will get lots of hits on 'how to'.
Once you have the ringtones in your iTunes library then make sure in iTunes prefs>General tab - the Tones option is selected. Once your device shows in the Devices list make sure you select from the Tones tab in the Devices window the tones you want to d/l.

  • How do i make a song on my iphone a ringtone for a contact

how do i make a song on my iphone a ringtone for a contact

Songs and ringtones are not interchangeable.  A song needs to be converted to a ringtone.
If you have a Mac, you can do that conversion using GarageBand.  See GarageBand's help for details.  If you have a Windows computer, there are third party apps that do the conversion, but I don't know any details.
