How do i make a second phone have a new mac account and still retain its songs?

I have an iphone and my 2 kids and wife all had ipods. They all used my account to get songs on their devices. Now they all have iPhone 4's. The problem is, if they use my MAC account on their phones, they get to keep their tunes, but now I get their reminder and contacts and visa versa. Is there any way for them to create their own account but still keep the music they purchased?

No, you can't transfer purchases from one Apple ID to another.
However, they can use the 'group' Apple ID in Settings > iTunes & App Stores, but use their 'unique' Apple ID for iMessage, iCloud & Facetime.
This will allow everyone to use the same content for iTunes & App purhcases, but keep their contacts, calendars, etc separate.

The iphone is not a backup/storage device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a abckup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

How do I stop iMessages from showing up on both of my iPhones without having to have two seperate iTunes accounts and still be able to use iMessage between these same two iPhones.

My wife and I have iPhones. We share an iTunes account and we want to keep it that way. My iMessages began showing up on her iPhone and vise versa. I figured out to go to settings, messages and have only the send/receive checked for our individual phone numbers. When we do that however, we no longer can send iMessages to each other and it goes over SMS. I don't want that. Now I have 400GB used on the MAC. I have added up all the folders and applications etc. and they total only about 110GB. On the summary the "other " category shows over 300 GB. What could it be. I have a new Mac mini and are using an Acer monitor. Unfortunately, the Acer will not show any image on a startup from cold. It does however work completely correctly when restarting from 'sleep' condition. Can anyone help? Thanks in anticipation.

I have a new Mac mini- changed from Windows XP. I have a peculiar problem. I use an Acer monitorwith the Mac which works fine when the Mac is 'un-sleeped'. But, if I have shutdown the Mac the Acer does not recognisethe start up - at least it shows nothing on screen. When I have shut down - nowknowing the problem, I use an old Samsung monitor to cope with the start up -it does so fine - and then put the Mac to 'sleep', then change monitors andrestart the Mac - the Acer is now fine. I posted the same question a day ago with no response. I'm using an Acer x193w. You actually don't have to switch monitors to get it to work. Just make sure you turn off the monitor after shutting down the Mac mini (actually push the power button on the monitor, not just let it go to sleep). If you turn on the monitor (push the power button on the monitor), then power up the Mac mini, the monitor is recognized. The issue didnt exist with Snow Leopard for me. It only started after I started using Lion. Hope this issue gets fixed In a future OS update.

I have a video capture card on my Windows machine; but the results have been crappy at best. And the so-called "Geek Squad" at Best Buy (where I bought the Mac Mini) have been less than helpfull. Further, the on-line Apple Store shows nothing. Maybe someone here has an idea.
