How do I make a VI to measure the frequency and power level of a transmitter using the NI 5660
I am working on an RF project that requires me to measure and record the frequency and power level of a transmitted signal. I am using the NI 5660. I am quite new to Labview and the PXI, so I'm not so sure how to do this.
I know I have to initialize the NI 5660 but I don't know what to do afterwards in terms of measuring the frequency of the acquired signal. I'm not sure what blocks to put together nor do I know where to find them. could someone please enlighten me on how I may understand what I need to do.

Have you considered the example finder?
There should be examples on how to acquire and measure with the NI 5660.
And there should be a block in LV that was delivered with the NI 5660 software, that does something like "acquire spectrum" or something like that.

Safe mode did nothing.

I am stuck on the blue screen of death and it flickers.No. In order to use FireWire Target Disk Mode you need to use a FireWire equipped Mac. Other than that the only other way I can think of to even attempt to access you files would be to remove your hard drive and install it in a case and connect it to another computer.

I bought this expensive mouse in high hopes that I could use the tilt wheel left/right to scroll horizontally, but it does not do it! Vertical scrolling works great. LabVIEW 7.0. Please help! I'm tired of going to the horizontal scroll bar on my block diagrams!
This doesn't exactly answer your question, but if you use the auto tool, press and hold and you get the Scrolling Tool. That will let you drag the diagram or panel around quickly.

Is it the Acrobat trial that's ending? (Adobe doesn't offer free subscriptions that expire after a set time.)
If you're referring to the Acrobat trial, have you logged in with your Adobe ID and password? If not, click License this Software in the pop-up that states the trial is ending soon, and then log in with your credentials, and you should be set.
Please let us know if that is not the case.

how do I make a drop down list of text in numbers as it is made in the example spreadsheet for comparing cars for buying where you can choose a value from a dropdown list for each car?
Where is this example spreadsheet? Without seeing it I can only guess at what you are asking.
To make a drop-down list (a pop-up menu in Numbers-speak), format the cell as a pop-up then edit and add to the list of items.
If the example spreadsheet is pulling in a dollar value based on what car you chose in the pop-up, it is probably using LOOKUP or one of the other lookup functions, getting the information from another table (a lookup table). If, instead, these dollar values are what you are choosing in the pop-up, then you need to create a pop-up with these values in it.
The Help menu includes a link to a page where you can download the Numbers Users Manual. It also has a link to the Formulas and Functions guide. Both are useful to new users. -

Having AppleTV remember the password is optional.
Logout of iTunes store, log back in and hopefully next time you come to purchase you'll be prompted for your password but decline the option to remember it. You might also want to look out of parental controls on the unit.

How can I make an image appear partially in front and partially behind another layer?
I have a drawn vector image that is behind a layer with a stroked ellipse like this:
However I need just one part of the image to appaer in front of the stroke. In this image I need the paw on the right to be in front of the stroke but I need the other leg to be covered by the stroke:
I'm guessing I need to somehow make a copy of just the paw and place it on a layer above the layer with the stroke in order to achieve this effect however I don't know how to do that in Illustrator. Any help would be appreciated.What program was the artwork created in and what version of Illustrator are you using? ALWAYS provide this information first so we know what features you have available.
If everything is native Illustrator artwork, then you can probably copy the portion of the paw you want outside the circle and use a PathFinder command to merge that shape with the circle, then put the resultant shape behind the artwork. -

Put the image behind the layer (at the back of it or on a layer below). With it still selected, Copy.
Now Paste in Front (Ctrl+F). Depending on your Paste Remembers Layers setting, you may have to bring the newly pasted copy to the front, or to the upper layer.
Draw a shape over the image to define the portion of it you want to appear "in front."
With the shape and the image selected, clip the image using the shape. (Object > Clipping Mask > Make) -

The filter you can use is Desaturate with Amount=100 in Image Control.
If you want to apply it to a fixed area within your clip, put a copy of the clip in V2 on top of the priginal (supposing your clip is in V1), apply Desaturate and use Crop in Motion tab of the viewer to define the edges of the rectangle; you can also use Edge Feather to smooth the borders.
If the portion you want black&white is actually a selected person or object in the clip then you must apply Chroma Keyer or 4/8 Point Matte to isolate that portion before applying Desaturate.
