I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.

I would suggest that post-routing should not be used. The way to go is to use translation routing applications. Although post-routing is easy to set up, almost all deployments require translation routing. I can't think of anything good to say about post routing, other than it's trivial to configure.
You want the main route point to be on the CM_PIM.RC for a number of reasons. You can check to see which of your IVRs are on line, and/or to do load balancing. If calls don't need to go to the IVR if agents are ready, you can have an LAA Select node immediately, and then translation route. Even if you just have one IVR, translation routing will enable you to do RONA more easily.
You need to bite the bullet and learn translation routing. If you do it that way, peripheral variables attached to the call remain unaffected whether the call is under the control of the CM_PIM.RC or the IVR_PIM.RC. This is exactly what you want.
There is no need, in my opinion, to go to an external database. In your IVR, decisions made by the caller (e.g. which "skill" they want) set peripheral variables. When the call comes out of this script you check the peripheral variable, and depending on the value do a queue to the appropriate skill group and run external script (BasicQ.aef).
Separate the intelligence gathering IVR script from the Queuing script. Allow ICM to make the routing decisions.

My mac OS.X 10.6 will not retrieve ringtone from phone and I cannot get a downloaded audio book from my mac onto my phone either. I tried connecting my iphone which "automatically syns" and downloads photos and some songs but not all of them. When I go to devices on my mac it is not "bolded" so I cannot even select my iphone as a device to try to view my library, organize it, or drag and drop songs onto my phone if I were to put them onto my desktop. SO Frustrating!

you have a very legitimate point. To my knowledge, there is no more secure way for archival storage than a DVD stored in a dark, cool, plastic enclosed jacket (to protect from scratches). after experiencing hard drive SATA storage discs (time capsule failures in particular) fail, want to go back to DVD storage, but now everyone wants to sell you a new program and 2 TB backups.
So what to do? Dumb down my Lion OS back to Leopard and go back to the good old days when I could get something done?
Having "switched " from MS to Mac almost 4 years ago, ready to go back. I had fewer hassles with my computers, got more done, and had lower blood pressure ten years ago than I do now, although Windows is always a "Johnny come lately" when it comes to any new innovation, having merely perfected the art of monopoly. lately though, have become very disenchanted with Apple, and will not be replacing /repairing my MacBook pro, macMini, iIMac when they finally break.
Is there any you tube site that someone could show me how to simply plug my Sony 8mm camcorder with the old Motorola style plugs (also has an S -video option) to the Mac Mini and burn the DVDs one by one? No editing. no fancy stuff. Just a straight out burn for archival storage? I want to get that done first before I mess with the hard drive back ups.

I my computer which is an iMac (late 2012) won't allow me to receive or make calls. I tried pairing my phone via bluetooth but that Doesn't work - tells me to check the network (i am on the correct network). Is the iMac too old to allow this to happen?

Create the slideshow either in iPHoto or in iDVD itself. Pick one of the old themes like World, Travel, Windowbox, Scrapbook or Pinboard that have no dropzone and drag a blank, black image file menu's window. That will give you a black menu. Change the text color to whatever you'd like for the play button for the slideshow. If you want the slideshow to start immediately when you put the disk in the DVD player click on the Map button in the bottom toolbar, last one on the left in the middle. In the next window drag the slideshow icon into the box at the far left. Then use the File->Save as Disk Image and complete the project. You can then open the disk image and play it with DVD Player to preview before committing to disk. If it's what you want, burn it with Disk Utility as the slowest speed possible for maximum compatibility with the many DVD players on the market.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. Are you holding the number or just pressing it quickly? Holding anything will produce a menu whose options would include cut & paste but just pressing the number should activate an action, in this case dialing the number.
Try just pressing the number with a normal press and not holding it and post back with your results.
