How do I make all clips the same brightness?

I'm editing a four-minute video with ten clips, opening and closing titles, and a graphic. It's essentially a talking head presentation. The sound from a lapel mic is good as is the framing. But we used available lighting coming through a large window. So the top of the frame, the white background, is a little darker than the bottom. Also some clips are somewhat overall darker than others.
Is there a way that I could make them all the same brightness? In the Adjust panel I can select only one clip at a time to change the lighting. It would be neat if there was an action that would make all the clips equally bright.

Yes, there is. Assuming you have several similar clips, you make all the adjustments you think they all will need to one clip. Then, select the adjusted clip, right click, "Copy". Select the rest of the similar clips, right click and "Paste Effects and Adjustments". All the clips will now have the same adjustments.
Make this an early part of the work because ALL effects and adjustments are applied. After this first and primary adjustment is made, more adjustments can be made to individual clips.

Make all pages the same width?

I've seen several answers to this question but they all seem to involve using an external app such as PDF Creator, Distiller, or something like that.
I have a pdf with three pages with different widths. From within Acrobat X, what is the easiest way to make all three pages the same width, or is that even possible without using an external app? If it is possible, please describe how to do this step by step.
By the way, I know there are steps that can be taken to avoid ending up with pdf's that have pages of varying lengths, but this question is not about that. It is about existing pdf's. Thanks a lot

Good question - I would say make all the page be the same width as the widest one. In general, these pdf's will contain 8.5" x 11" pages, sometimes in combination with legal size pages. The actual size of each page will differ depending on such things as who they came from and how they produced the pdf's, what software was used, which scanner was used, etc.
Here would be an example pdf:
The first 3 pages approximately 8.5" x 11" format. The last 2 pages are legal size. As you page throgh the document, the widths change. My usual setting as I page through a pdf is Fit Width. But in this pdf, the first two pages look right, the third page is too narrow, the fourth page looks right, and the fifth page looks too narrow. So given that, How would I make all 5 pages the same width so that as I page through the pdf, the widths are all exactly the same, and not just appear the same? If I have to choose which width they should all be, I'd say go with the widest one.
If I need to run some javascript to accomplish this, that's ok - I'll strip it out before distributing the pdf. Thanks

I'm running the same version of Firefox on one computer in Windows 7 and on another computer in Windows XP. How can I make them look the same? Bookmarks is a button on the right in W7 and a tab at the top left in XP.

I am already running Sync for bookmarks, but I don't understand how to make Firefox have the same format at the top of the screen. I don't want to Sync tabs, so I haven't tried that option.

Once your restore your menus on you Window 7 system, you can get rid of the bookmarks button. After going through the 10 steps below your toolbars on your Windows 7 system will be more usable again and like your XP system, none of which has anything to do with Sync.

How can I make everyone have the same head?

In one of the scenes in a video I'm making, I have some people marching down the street, I want to give them all the same head so it looks like an army of clones. How can I do that in Final Cut Pro?

You would need to replicate the head in several tracks and use garbage mattes to control what was and was not shown.
However, it's really not as simple as that because of how the heads & bodies interact (movement) - and I think it's likely to be beyond what you can achieve inside FCP given that you're asking the question.
It's likely to be a task that even an experienced compositor would not find it easy - and they are unlikely to even bother attempting it in FCP. You need to be looking at much better compositing tools - and be prepared to put many many hours (weeks / months / years) in to learning how to use them.

Try emptying caches.
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    "Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    Delete Caches.db
    Close all windows and quit all applications.
    Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" from the dropdown.
   Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
   Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
   Close windows and relaunch Safari.

How do I make still Images the same size as the video when importing? CS5

Hi,
I'm having a problem importing and using still images as they are so large.
The video is 720 x 576 and the image I want to use is 4752 x 3168
How can I scale it down to fit with the video. Currently it just zooms in to a part of the picture making it pretty useless.

Slideshow, how to make clip the same length as audio file?

I've got several PowerPoint presentations and need to make an MP4 video file for each of them. I know how to export the slides as still images, and I also have the audio files broken up into individual mp3 files that match each slide.
I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way of getting the slides and audio files synced in Premiere Elements.
Yesterday I imported all of the png images and mp3 audio files into my project. But I had to individually add each image, followed by the mp3, and then in the timeline manually stretch the image to make it last the same length of time as the audio file. It was rather tedious and I have a lot of presentations with many slides to work with. I'm sure there must be some better way to make all of this happen, right?
Can anyone help me out here?
1. Is there a way to make the image clip match the time of the audio clip?
2. Is there a way to import all of the audio and image files at once (given they have the same names) and have PE automatically associate the image clip with the audio file?

1. You can place the audio file in the Audio 1 track of the timeline first (Timeline, not sceneline)
2. Next drop the image to where the audio file starts. Now press "\" key
3. Drag the end of the clip to exactly where the audio ends. Whe you are near the end of the audio with the drag it should simply stick to it.
4. Group the audio and image file together (Right click and select group after selecting both these together)
5. Select the clip and do a right click and use the Fade-In and out option. You can fade in the video and let the audio simply continue. This makes it look and sound good.
6. Place the next audio file and go on doing the same till all of them are done. The grouping step is not needed but when you keep working with PRE, you might just thank me for it!
I tried all these steps just as I was typing this post, so I can tell you for sure that PrE10 works as if it is designed JUST for this use case. So hoping you get to complete the project on time and with good quality!

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

I am a DJ and I want to make all of my files the same volume without losing too much sound quality. I dont just want them to play back the same volume on iTunes. I want them to all be the same volume when I burn them to a cd. As there a way to do this? Any help would be appreciated!

If you mean Audio CD, check 'Use Sound Check' in Preferences>Advanced>Burning.
This will - kind of - 'normalize' the tracks and is supposed to bring them at the same volume.
I haven't tried this for a long time though (since iTunes 5, I think), because I was not satisfied with the results.
It could have improved now, so you could give it a try.
I use Jam (Roxio.com) to create my Audio CDs. It has a 'normalize' function that works well and you can also set the gain for each track manually.
You could also try the 'normalize' function of an audio editor like Audacity (freeware) or Sound Studio to alter the files permanently.

How do you make separate ICloud accounts for people who all use the same Apple ID?

Me, my brother and mam all use the same Apple ID (i.e. this one. I'm not Debra) so is it possible to create three different ICloud accounts? I only want my music, pictures etc to go to my IPad, IPhone and my account on the Mac. If it's not possible, is there a way to see all the activity from this Apple ID in one place and split it into three different ID's easily? Thank's for any replies

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't have 3 accounts with one ID.
If the reason you want to keep a single ID is so you can share music and apps etc, then you should be aware that the iTunes account and iCloud accounts are different accounts, you can all share an iTunes account but have different iCloud accounts (each iCloud account would have its own ID).

Subclips of Independent Clip all have the SAME audio

I have a bunch of DV streams I want to edit in FCP, but I discovered that the audio is out of sync in most of them. Each stream has multiple shots in it, each of which I want to make into a subclip. Here's how I approached the problem:
1. I gave the out-of-sync DV stream a reel name in the Browser.
2. I opened the clip in the Viewer, set In and Out points to the extremes, and dragged it into the timeline.
3. I unlinked the video and audio, shifted the video to get it in sync, cropped the ends of the video and audio to start and end at the same time, and relinked the video with the audio.
4. I selected Make Independent Clip from the context menu.
5. I dragged the synced clip back into the Browser and changed its name.
6. I opened the new clip in the Viewer, selected the individual shots with In and Out points, and made each into a subclip.
For each clip, the first subclip I created in this way worked perfectly, but for some reason the subsequent subclips all have the same audio as the first subclip. What am I doing wrong?

I had the sync problem when capturing DV footage until I found and deleted the FC preferences file. I found this worked for several FC problems so I found a utility that saves the prefs before a problem starts. Then you can just replace the corrupted prefs file with the saved good one and you're fixed. I posted this problem to the forum and never found an answer as to why the capture sync gets hosed so I went with what works. I would work on why the captured footage is out of sync in the first place as described above.
Sorry but I do not have an answer for your sub-clip problem, just questions. Did you capture your DV tape as one individual file? Is the audio recorded on tape 48k and captured as 48k? I know I used to do the same thing as you to correct the offset... unlink the video & audio and bump the audio track until the sync was corrected. As long as I edited the clips on the timeline, everything stayed in sync and I just worked around the problem. For me, the prefs file was the answer.
