Aperture automatically launches when there is a camera disk mounted, which is annoying. How do I turn this off?

I found the same thing when using a firewire card reader, but it doesn't recognize the card when you use the PC slot on a laptop.

I have also gone into image capture and selected no application as the hidden option for SD card actions when inserted.
Unfortunately the issue persists... two questions: can I do a terminal level disable to prevent iPhoto from launching or can I remove iPhoto from my computer?

Select your SD Card
Click the little widget in the bottom right corner of the window
Select the program to launch, or "No application"

just to clarify everything done in one dbadapter invoke uses a single atomic database transaction.
We have no support right now for the jdbc 'savepoint' feature, but from your explanation it seems you want the dbadapter write to be rolled back if the bpel process itself fails.
There is a way to do this, by configuring the dbadapter to bind its transaction to the global bpel instance transaction.
This JTAInsert is not shipped with the ga samples but here is the README:

Follow the steps to create the Merge sample, but then add a second duplicate
merge invoke.
Attempting to do two duplicate merges of the same object will lead to the
following:
-If the row (title) exists then two duplicate updates will be made.
-If the row (title) does not exist then two inserts will be attempted. The
second insert will fail, causing the first insert to be rolled back aswell.
The only other difference is to add the following adapter instance to your
oc4j-ra.xml and use it instead of eis/DB/BPELSamples:

Issues:
This works only for "Merge" operation. "Insert" operation does not.
When you run this and chose a new title, the first insert is rolled back correctly
but then the instance does not appear in the bpel console. Likely because the dehydration/auditing is also rolled back.
Looking for it resulted in:

How do you make Aperture not default to Import mode upon start?

I leave my iPhone plugged in to my Mac most of the time. Consequently, Aperture always starts up in Import Mode. Does anyone know how to turn this off?

Yeah, I see that setting. It's also duplicated in Image Capture. And setting it to "No Application" doesn't seem to matter. If the iPhone is plugged in before Aperture starts, Aperture launches import mode every time. Poop!

You didn't say which model of iPod Nano that you have, but generally there should be a lock setting, that can be turned on or off, to prevent accidental changes in settings. And, there is also a setting to turn on or off a feature called, "Shake to Shuffle." It allows you to change songs by just shaking the iPod.

image capture (the program) is recognizing your iPhone as a camera ... you have it set to open Aperture when a camera is connected, yes ???
well ... the only way to turn it off (to the best of my knowledge) would be to open image capture and set it to do nothing ... that is when any camera/card/iPhone is connected image capture does nothing ... you will manually have to open aperture and import from your cards/cameras ...

When I'm at my home, and on my Wifi, my 4G icon on my LG G2 is still present. No big deal. If the bits can flow via WiFi, that's what they'll do.
You might try (if you really MUST shut off the cellular radio):
Settings, Network Connections and More networks. Select Mobile Networks and uncheck Mobile data and data roaming.
Not sure if that will work - but give it a try.

How Can I Make Acrobat Not Resize Images?

I am trying to turn around 80 images into the pages of a PDF file. The pictures are saved as JPEGs and have the exact dimensions I want them to have as pages of a PDF. When I turn them into a PDF in Acrobat Pro 9 they get resized so when viewed at 100% the text looks like crap. I want to know how I can make Acrobat not mess with the dimensions of my pictures when turning them into a PDF. I make the PDF by clicking the Create button and selecting Merge Files into a Single PDF... . I then drag and drop the pictures into the window and click Combine Files. I have tried all three of the File Size settings and all of them turn out wrong. How can I make this expensive program work the way I want it to by doing htis simple thing right?
I have attached two files, the first of one of the images that will make a page viewed in windows picture and fax viewer at the original size. The second is a screen shot of the messed up PDF with blurry text, viewed at 100%. I want the text in the second picture to look just like the text in the first.

I am not trying to justify Adobe's choice, just an explanation of what may have happened. When one asks for 100%, there is a question of by pixel, by inches (cm), or by size on the screen. These are interpretations and the fact that MS and Adobe interpret them differently is not surprising. However, I think that what you are seeing is a result of the pixel display issues on the screen and with proper sizing, they should appear the same (at least I think). In Acrobat, there is also a smoothing feature under the display preferences that may be an issue and is related to how it extrapolates for the pixels.

Is there any way to configure iPhoto to NOT launch every time my iPhone is connected to my iMac? I understand why it does it- because there are photos on my iPhone Camera roll- I get it. But I would love for it to NOT launch iPhoto every time. I know I can use Image Capture to tell iPhoto not to launch for ANY camera, but that's overkill. I just want iPhoto to not launch when my iPhone is connected. Is there maybe an app or a terminal command that could configure that?

Okay- how about this? Is there an app that would enable me to move my photos off my Camera Roll and organize them separately? That might solve the problem of iPhoto seeing them.

It's not clear why Apple made this change; speculation (which is not really allowed in these forums) is that it was done to protect the privacy of the caller.

TS1501 Image Capture does not launch when I connect my iPhone to my iMac and open iPhoto. No "Prefernces" is offered under Image Capture. I cannot import photos to iPhoto.

This helped me. It is advice I found from a user named Carlosmara. First make sure iPhoto is closed and your iPhone is not connected. Then, as Carlosmara stated in his post,
"Go to your Library/preferences and delete the file com.apple.iPhoto.plist
IPhoto should recognized the iPhone again."
The file in question is under your user folder.
I then restarted my mac and plugged in the iPhone so that it would sync. After the sync, when I opened iPhoto, my iPhone was recognized and I could download the photos perfectly.
