How do I make firefox available to all users in Windows 7?

I've installed Firefox on a Windows 7 computer. It is only available for the user who was logged in at the time. Is there a way to make it available to all users on that computer, or do I have to run the installer under each login?

You can use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify new (default) values.
Place a local-settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where also the channel-prefs.js file is located to specify using mozilla.cfg.

Hello,
Can someone please tell me how to make Growl available to more than one user account? I have one account that I use mostly but it does not have growl anywhere that I can find. On another of my accounts it is in the systems preferences and applications folders. Both of these accounts are Admin so I don't know why I can't see the application on both.
Also can someone please tell me if I can use Growl as a notification software for phone calls. I have dial up and I miss lots of calls when I'm online so I wanted to find something that didn't cost an arm and a leg to use as a type of caller ID, notification so I can see if I miss any calls. I was told that I could do this with growl. I don't need anything with a lot of bells and whistles, just something to show who is calling so I can know who to call back when I get off line.

To be available to all users, the application must be in the main Applications folder at the root of Macintosh HD.
If it's in a User/Applications folder it will ony be available to that user.
For the notification problem I would have thought Growl's developer was the place to ask.

By default, all Applications are installed in /Applications. Those are available to all users. If you choose to install in your home Applications folder, they are only available to that user.
You can also control app usage with Parental Controls. If that is on, that my be why some cannot use certain apps.

Dreamweaver had this capability many releases ago, but it has been dropped, so it's no longer available.

How can I make Firefox stop setting all downloaded files to "Share with nobody"?

For the last few months, every file I download with Firefox has its homegroup share option set to "Share with nobody". All my user accounts are administrator level, I have the sharing set properly in the destination file, and I am using FF 27.0.1. I have set the "scan when done" and "save zone information" to false in about:config. I have always had FF set to ask me where to save a download every time, and I've only had this problem recently. A couple topics said that this would be fixed in 27, but it is not for me.

The problem is created by using the temp folder, which is locked to the current user. Instead of copying the file from the temp folder, pasting to the desired download location, then deleting the file from the temp folder, Firefox uses a faster move command (when the destination is on the same drive as the temp folder). That move command does not rewrite the permissions to match the destination.
I think someone tried to work around this by making the permissions on the temp folder more liberal, but I don't think that worked or at least I don't recall anyone proclaiming success with that. (I don't think it's possible to force Firefox to use a folder other than the system temp folder.)

I want to make add-ons available for everybody by integrating an internal central service. That is possible by customizing the "extension.webservice.discoverURL" to the server I´m talking about. The Problem is that nobody should be able to install add-ons from any other source, for example addons.mozilla.org, local media,...
Do you have an idea, how this problem can be solved?
Maybe there is a possibility by using the lockPref "xpiinstall.enabled false" in conjunction with a whitelist defining my Server?

Although with many hacks there could be some sort of workaround that advanced users may employ when attempting to circumvent the measures, such as the ability to use Firefox in safe-mode and then install add-ons, or even run a browser from a memory stick.

How can I make Firefox open .eml file with Thunderbird (Windows XP)

I have a webpage that has links to saved .eml files (Thunderbird saves email messages as .eml files). When I click on the link Firefox treats it like a .txt file (displays source). I want Firefox to use Thunderbird as helper application but I have not been able to find a way to do that. Even setting browser.helperApps.alwaysAsk.force to true doesn't bring up the open dialog box. Nor can I manually add eml to applications list. Help needed!

That happens if the server sends the .eml file as text/plain and not as a generic type like application/octet-stream that would force Firefox to download the file. 
In such a case there is not much to do about it then to contact the site and ask them to change the content type for .EML files.

Only if when you install it you choose to make it available to all users. There is an option offered in the installation.
Otherwise it will install into just the installer's User account.

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows. 
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:

You only have to install applications once, after which are available to all users on your Mac. But each user account will have its own individual preferences to set and may have some initialization to do the first time the application runs in each account.
Also, most applications that require entry of a license code accept the code once and apply it to all user accounts on your Mac. But there are some exceptions, some applications, that don't seem to do this (or don't do it well) and you may have to enter your license code in each user account the first time you run those applications in each account. For example, iTunes will ask you to accept the license the first time you run it in each user account.
