How can I make firefox remember passwords on ALL sites?

Firefox has a feature to remember my passwords, which is very useful. However, some sites mess with this so they won't save my passwords. In some cases these sites turn "autocomplete" off for the password field in their html; in other cases they appear to use some kind of javascript magic to stop me from saving my passwords.
First of all, why should websites try to stop me from saving my password? Do they really think its more secure if people have to write their passwords on stickynotes on their monitor to remember them--or worse, use the same password on all sites? I what way is it conceivably more secure? In any case it's MY business how I manage my passwords--not theirs!
I have had some success in battling evil sites that try to stop my from saving my passwords by editing the nsLoginManager.js file. But this is not convenient as I must keep doing this every time firefox gets upgraded, and it doesn't work for some sites like American Express which I think use some sort of javascript to stop me from doing what I want.
So my question is, how can I effectively make firefox remember ALL the passwords I want, when _I_ want to--and NOT obey evil websites that just want to practice CYA while actually making me LESS secure?

YES, FF is set to store passwords. NO, there's no exception.

Every other site can remember my login details so I don't have to type them every time. But for some reason, Yahoo does not let Firefox remember my login details. So I have to cut and paste from a Notepad file, since I am sick and tired of typing them every single time. I can log in to'' my.yahoo.com'' without going through the pains you are describing. I have login data stored under https://login.yahoo.com. From my own experience I know, this is just one of the many doors into Yahoo. Check your login data in FX to see if there's any entries for yahoo already there:

How do I make image icons in finder window previews of the image?

The image icons in my finder window are just generic jpeg icons (they are set to open automatically in Preview). How do I make them previews of the images themselves? When I "get info" on the icon, there is a very nice preview of the image - I would like to see the same quality preview in the icons themselves.

From your Finder "View" menu (without a Finder window open) >> "Show view options" >> do you have "show icon preview" check marked? And with the Finder window open "show icons" and "show preview icons" checkmarked?
EDIT: I may have misunderstood your question. If you're talking about the small file icons, not in the preview frame if you have PhotoShop it should do it with a save as PS file. Otherwise you may be able to paste the image but I'm not sure.

How can I make Firefox remember new passwords for old accounts?

I have recently moved to a new notebook computer. I used the "Password Exporter" add-on to import my passwords from my old machine.
Now, when I reach a Web page that I'd saved the user id and password for, it no longer appears in the fields and I have to start typing some of it, before Firefox offers it again.
Also, if a password has changed, when I enter the new one, Firefox won't offer to update that saved account with the new password - so I'm stuck with my old 'list' of accounts and their original passwords.
How can I fix these problems?

How can I make Firefox remember my preferred location for the "home" button?

Since the 5.0 update, I can go into 'options,' click 'toolbar layouts,' and then drag the "home" button icon to my preferred location (back on the left beside the URL line). However, when I close the browser window open a new one, the "home" icon is back in its original and undesirable location. I have tried editing the prefs.js / user.js folders within my profile directory, but I cannot seem to find anything that relates (to my knowledge) to this issue. I am using a theme add-on which is fully compatible with 5.0. I am able to save other preferences such as the location of my tabs (on bottom), so I'm not having an issue with every setting. It's a drag to have to move the mouse way over to the right to go home... other than this, all appears well. Please help! Thank you for your time.

Some sites (like and others) like PayPal, Yahoo, Windows Live and bank sites use ''autocomplete="off"'' to prevent Firefox from saving the name and the password.
If a site uses ''autocomplete="off"'' then look at this article for a bookmarklet to remove that autocomplete attribute.

How can I make firefox work wisth a windows xp computer? I don't have an address bar , a backup key. I can get away from the firefox add-on screen. It is basically inoperable

After installing the new version of Firefox on an Windows xp computer I cannot use the internet. There is no address bar for entering a URL, there's not back up arrow, I can't get away from the Firefox add-on screne.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

*If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar

How do u make FCP remember to keep motion parameters in the viewer exposed?

Hi,
At work I have a computer running FCP 6. When I open, say, the Crop parameter of a certain clip in the Motion tab of the Viewer, then leave the viewer to do something else, when I come back to my clip's Motion tab, the Crop settings are exposed (ie FCP remembers that the parameters were accessed before). But at home, on my FCP 7, when I try to do the same thing, the software keeps hiding the Crop parameters and I have to press the arrow to expose them every time anew.
Is there a setting somewhere in FCP to keep the Motion parameters exposed?

where on my computer am I suppose to make the individual picture files and have them to upload on my ipod touch.... I do have a photo library on my computer, but in the photo tab in itunes for the ipod touch and there is nothing checked for syncing, cause when I do check it it always says its going to replace everything i have in my photo library on my ipod touch..... So how am i suppose to have it checked and have it NOT replace pictures on it????
Also I cannot make more photo albums into my ipod touch, it just replaces the one album every time....
I am very frustrated cause I have tried the manuals and the apple support help etc and nothing pertains to my exact issue.....

Only if you choose "Never" then an exception is created.
Otherwise Firefox should offer to save the password on the next visit.

I want to keep Firefox as my default browser.

I have even gone to the trouble to use IE to create the shortcuts with the site specific icons.....but after I do that...... FIREFOX CONVERTS THEM TO THE FIREFOX DEFAULT ICON as soon as I re-boot or refresh my desktop.

That worked, thanks. When I turn on the pc, I almost always go to the internet before anything else, so this eliminates one step. It doesn't seem to save any time, however, but it is easy. If anyone else wants to try this, it looks like it's very easy to undo if you change your mind.
