How do I make folders for my files in Documents?

My hard drive died and AppleCare had a new one installed. Now I can not create folders in Documents. I need them to keep my recipes, receipts, and documents organized. How do I create folders in Documents?

I don't get error messages. When I pay a bill, or save a recipe, etc. I want to save it to documents, and I want folders in documents to put them in. Before Yosemite, when I clicked on documents in Finder there was an option to make a new folder, or folders would show up that I had already created. Not when I hit save as, it goes to documents and doesn't show any of the folders, or give me the option to create a new one. I have to save it to Documents, open Finder, go to documents, create a folder and drag the file, or if the folder is there I have to drag the file anyway. This is much more work than it was before I upgraded. And no, I was not able to get back any old files. I had to take the computer to an Apple store along with my external hard drive. They were not able to retrieve any of the data so I am starting from scratch. Photos and music were in the cloud so that is all retrieved, but I hadn't saved documents to the cloud because I thought they could get them off the external. Now I save everything to the cloud and to my external. A lot of time....

Open Finder, highlight your Macintosh HD and select New Folder. Name it whatever you want. In Word there is an option to Save File in X folder. Select that new folder you created. Alternative to this is when saving a file a dialog window will open where you can select the folder to save in, select the folder you created and there should be an option to make this the Default folder to save to (but not sure about that option in the Save dialog box).

No. This is NOT true. I've been battling with this for a couple hours.
I choose Export>Versions
choose
Subfolder Format: Project Name
no custom subfolder
Name Format: Current Version Name.
Aperture creates project folders for each image and names them Projects1, Projects2, Projects3 etc.
To be sure, I have no project named Projects
x
This particular Aperture library has 16 projects. you can see in the screen grab it's created more than 30 folders
If I uncheck the Subfolder, that is say NONE, I just get images and images and images, not in their project folders (of course, because I've said NONE, so why would it put them in project folders?)
I just want to export the entire library and have the versions placed in folders named by the projects from which they came.... ez enough, no?

To make folders, enter the app editing mode by holding your finger on any app. Little white X’s will appear above each app, and all apps will shake back and forth. Hold your finger on the app you want to add to a folder and drag the app towards another app that you want to add to the new folder. You'll then be given the option to edit the folder name. By default, iPhone gives the folder a generic name that may or may not have much to do with both apps. Click the bottom of the screen to return to apps edit mode. The new folder now appears in the list with the name you gave it, and with small icons of the apps contained in the folder. From here, you can drag more apps into the new folder. To remove apps from a folder, click the folder and simply drag the app’s icon to the main part of the screen with the other apps. When finished, hit the home button.

how would i go about taking multiple files from documents and make them into 1 master file? I want to put all documents associated with this project together for easier access.

From the finder window, click File, click new folder, you can drag all documents into that Folder making it the master folder. You can ajso drag folders into the Master folder, and have them as sub-folders if you wish to do that. Either way they will all be in one master folder.

Property 'ListItemCollectionPosition' cannot be found on this object; make sure it exists and is settable.

shoo: if i had to do that for every file i get i would go insane, as scott said, post contract: files that they (sub contractor) supply you, presume them ok unless you KNOW otherwise, or a copyright flag pops up contradicting ownership.

You can create a file system repository for each of the file systems.
The document approval workflow is a functionality which is already available withing the portal.
However, be aware that the file system repository does not support custom properties and versioning.
In that case you might want to use a CM respository in the FSDB mode which lets you store metadata on the portal and the actual files on the file server.

Via Finder certainly, but not in the menu. You can view the file path in the Spotlight search results display by pressing the ⌘ key (while hovering over a file in the results), though. The path will display at the bottom of the Quick Look output, or cycle through that location.

You can get from Microsoft, the flip4mac free player. Since Windows Media Player for Mac is no longer supported, this is the way to go.

In my opinion, it is by far the best solution for playing .avi or .wmv files, because you get all the advantages of Quicktime.

I have a 200 page book (PDF). I am trying to make a flip book to preview in web browser. How can I make a small swf file out of InDesign with the PDF I have?

There is another point:
if you are using JPEG images together with SWF as output file format, you could get smaller images by:
1. using the Export For Web menu for generating size optimized JPEGs in PhotoShop opposed to Save As JPEG
2. stripping all color management (ICC) information off the files (SWF is not very good in color management besides sRGB, I think…)

The easiest way is by targeting the Loader object.
l.visible = false;
or
removeChild(l);
will both work. And you can make it visible again if need be using the opposite of those commands.
