How do i make it so it ask me to save all open tabs when i close firefox.

it use to do this automatically when i had the old Firefox but now it never ask i like this feature and would like to know were it is hidden in new Firefox or if it is no longer available is there a add-on that does the same thing

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows.<br />
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.<br />
Another possibility is to use:
* [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox/Tools > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

  • How do I save the open tabs when I close Firefox 5? There should be a dialog box opens that asks if you want to do this. Without it I will stop using Firefox.

This was available in earlier versions and was a great feature. Please restore it or give us a workaround.

It seems that they decided to disable this feature by default for some reason. In your address bar, type in "about:config" and search for browser.showQuitWarning" in the filter, without quotes. Double-click this string to set it to "true." Firefox should then ask you if you would like to save and quit, or just quit, when exiting with multiple tabs opened.
Another option is to go to the "General" tab in your preferences and and under "Startup" -> "When Firefox starts," select "Show my windows and tabs from last time" from the drop-down list. This way, your opened tabs are always saved, and always restored.
Finally, you can achieve this functionality (and more) with the Session Manager add-on. Session Manager is nice because it allows you to save and restore multiple tab sessions. I also find that it's a more reliable fail-safe for saving your opened tabs when it comes to browser crashes.

  • At variance with Firefox 3, Firefox 4 does not ask me to save the opened tabs when I quit on having multiple opened tabs. How can I do this in Firefox 4?

In Firefox 3, when I happened to close the program on having multiple opened tabs, Firefox asked me if I wanted to save and remember the opened tabs, so that I could retrieve them at the next Firefox restart. Firefox 4 does not do this anymore. Is it because I have not configured it correctly somehow, or is this normal? How can I recover this function?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrea

One change in Firefox 4 is to by default stop Firefox displaying the warning message, but it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.tabs.warnOnClose''', if its value is set to '''false''', double-click on it to change its value to '''true'''
    # Repeat this for these 3 preferences '''browser.warnOnQuit''', '''browser.warnOnRestart''' and '''browser.showQuitWarning'''

  • How can I save my open tabs when I close FF4. FF3 gave me the option to save and quit when closing.

I use multiple tabs every day and they are for the most part the same tabs on Fire Fox 3.6. When I closed my FF3 at the end of the day I had the option of saving my tabs so the would open again the next day.
On FF4 I no longer have this option. Now it just warns me I'm closing 7 tabs. No option like before.

  • How i can have all my opened tab when upgrade my firefox?

now i'm still using very old Firefox 3.6.12, and i want to upgrede it. I always using "save and quit" to my all opened tab when quit and not using bookmarks. total about 300+ tab opened.
i already try upgrade once and all my tab is lost. and because of that i do system restore and reintall with old one again.
how i can have all my opened tab when upgrade my firefox?
    sorry my english is mess....

I do not think anything much has changed with the Firefox system restore files and how they are handled so it may be possible to keep these and use them after an upgrade in a new version of Firefox.
It is '''very important that you backup the Firefox profile''' see
*[[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
If you do that you will be able to use the open tabs again. <br />(May need to reinstall Firefox 3.6 again possibly as an additional browser) <br />
    You must
    * Put that profiles somewhere safe. NOT in the Firefox profile or program path. Your Window's Desktop is ok as a safe place.
*When needed. Only work with copies of those files. Keep the original files and folders safe.
Upgrade to the latest Firefox. Because you are going up so far from 3.6 to 27 do this by installing the new Firefox 27. Do not try using each upgrade step from 3.6 to 27.
    Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
WARNING: Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <br />These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up. <br />(That is why I asked that the profile was backed up FIRST)
You may be surprised and find Firefox still has the old tabs once it is reinstalled.
Post back with how you get on. We should be able to get access to the old tabs again.
In future I suggest you do not try to rely on keeping 300 tabs open all the time without bookmarking them. You will at some stage probably lose some or all of these tabs, or their related states and history.
    Please in future
    * Backup your profile on a regular basis.
**Once a week means you may only lose one week's open tabs.
    *Bookmark important open tabs.
    ** Bookmarks keep well.
** Open tabs do not keep well & may be lost.
    * If possible reduce the number of open tabs you use.

  • How do I set the 'reloading' of past tabs when I close firefox?

I want firefox to open my last lot of tabs when I close it how can I set this in settings?

Please see [[options window - general panel]], startup section has an option to restore previous session on each start.

  • How can I get Firefox to stop saving the open tabs when it closes and reinstating them the next time it opens?

Even tho' I've set options for Firefox to delete history when it closes, it still remembers my open tabs and tries to reinstate them the next time it starts. This causes two problems: 1) it takes longer for Firefox to close, such that if I start it again a few sec later it is still running and won't restart; 2) it sometimes reopens websites I am no longer want when it next starts. The latter also makes the last sites I visited visible to the next user, which I (and I suspect most other users) want to avoid. I would like to turn this feature off since it is far more of a problem than a benefit!

    @cor-el
    I have the same problem.
My settings are already configured to "Show a blank page". It does show a blank page normally, but when FF crashes, it attempts to reload all the tabs from the previous session when it restarts. My version is: Firefox/3.6.13, and I'm running XP sp3 if that matters.

  • When i close Firefox it no longer asks me if i want to save all the open tabs. when i start Firefox only one tab opens and not all the tabs i was using. how can i regain this feature?

i can no longer save my tabs for my next session

You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle with a double left-click.
    * browser.tabs.warnOnClose , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/About%3Aconfig_entries
    * browser.warnOnQuit , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnQuit
    * browser.warnOnRestart , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnRestart
    * browser.showQuitWarning (Firefox 4 only)

  • When closing firefox with multiple tabs open, how can you make it keep all the tabs when you reopen firefox

  • How to bring a VI front panel to the front (of all open windows) when the parent VI calls a sub-VI in Test Stand.

In Test Stand when I call a sub-VI front panel, the pop-up window goes behind all the windows and the user just waits for the screen. I want the pop-up to come to the front so that the user can know what to do. I couldn't find any property that I can set which would make the called VI go to the front.

What version of TestStand are you using? Here are the TestStand palettes in LabVIEW for TestStand 2.0 and 3.1. You can also set a VI to be modal in  VI Properties>Window Appearance. Select Dialog or go to Cutomize and change the Window Behavior.

  • How do I save all open tabs as bookmarks into one bookmark

You can access bookmark all tabs by right-clicking on a tab, or use the keyboard shortcut Control+Shift+D

  • I am using firefox 4. In the privacy tab i have slected clear all private data when i close firefox. Unfortunately firefox not doing what i asked it to do. In addition too many problems with extensions like Kasperesky Virtual keyboard, JAVA, etc.

    OS: Windows Vista

Are you opening tab with those pages via session restore?
Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
You may want to revert the change that has been made to the default value (0) of the pref browser.sessionstore.privacy_level and set the value to 1 that is used in Firefox 3 or disable saving such data with a value of 2.
    See:

  • I used to be able to save all open tabs to a folder in Bookmarks, but cannot figure out how to do that in Firefox 4.0.

Older versions of Firefox allowed the user to save all open tabs to a folder in Bookmarks with one touch (not laboriously bookmarking each tab), so if Firefox did not remember your tabs when re-opening your browser after closing down for the night, you could at least re-open each tab if you'd been clever enough to save them to a Bookmarks folder. I still have my Bookmarked folders full of tabs from previous months, so I know I'm not imagining this useful Bookmark function.
I cannot find this function, Save All Tabs (I think that's what it was called,) under Bookmarks anymore.

THANK YOU! So easy, now I feel stupid. ;)
Sorry, Firefox 4.0 is driving me nuts in many ways, this is just one of them.

  • Have downloaded v4 and cant save open tabs when exiting so that they automatically open when launching v4 the next time (which is s omething I could do with V3). Please can you let me know how to set this in v4

With v3 I regularly had 5 tabs open all the time and could save these on exit so that they opened automatically the next time without me having to click individually on each one via bookmarks. V4 does not appear to allow this as a default and I cant find an option to allow it to happen. Please advise

'''''#This will fix the problem for most I think:'''''
''Firefox 4.0 has a new feature that automatically saves your tabs when you close Firefox.''
Its seems that for many people, this feature was not enabled automatically, instead it is set on a different setting of 'show my homepage' or 'show a blank page'. But it is very easy to change, I just did it myself! Here is how to do it:
At the top left of the screen is an orange 'Firefox' box, click on it. On the right of the dropdown menu you will see 'Options'. Click on it. Then you will see another 'Options', click on it. This will bring up the Options menu.
The part we are interested in for this fix is where it says, 'When FireFox starts:'. There is a dropdown selection next to that sentance, click on the little down-arrow, and choose ' Show my windows and tabs from last time'. Then click on 'OK' at the bottom of the Options menu, this will close the menu.
You should be sorted now, I was. I hope it works for you too. To test it out, have a few tabs open, and close firefox. Then try open it. Those same tabs should re-appear. Holding thumbs & fingers crossed :)

Where did you purchase this. The US phones do not come with the SIM removal tool anymore. They haven't for some time now. I'm not even sure it comes with any of the devices anymore. You can just straighten out a paper clip and do the same thing.
