How do I make more years categories in the library?

My iphoto library is divided up by year, but it shows only 2005 to 2008. There is another category that says "early photos." I have photos as early as 1999. Is it possible to divide those up into their specific year instead of grouping them all as early?

I believe it would have to be. I was searching for the answer to this same question. Since the original poster had "2005", I would assume it would have to be possible to create previous years.
I bought my Mac in 2006 and started importing pics in that year. Thus, my Library starts at 2006 and not 2005 like the original poster. So all pics 2005 and earlier, for me, shows up as "Early Photos". Respectively for the original poster, "Early Photos" for him would be 2004 and earlier.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Delete the old backups..
There is a reason though for this to happen. Tell us what model Time Capsule you are using and what size disk it has .. how much free space is available and how much is now required. If you upgraded to Mavericks it probably needs to do a whole new backup and simply doesn't have the space .. nor can it delete the old backup.
Please read Pondini FAQ for details of these issues.. deleting backups for example Q12

There is also info on how much space is required for backups.

How can I make more email maps for the iPad2?

If you are on iOS 5 as your tagline suggests and it's an IMAP type account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of folders that you currently have on your email account. If it's a POP type account then you won't get the Edit button.

How can I make more room on my 6-year old MacBook Pro? I already have an external hard drive.

Two options:
Delete files from your Home folder you no longer use or need (but do not delete anything from the /Home/Library/ folder.)
Buy and install a larger hard drive. You can find suitable drives at OWC. You would need a 2.5" notebook drive that is SATA II or SATA I compatible - 1.5 or 3.0 Gb/s.

Add extra empty toolbars if you want to see more of the persona.
You can create extra toolbars to get extra space via View > Toolbars > Customize
You have to put something on a toolbar (drag a Space item onto it) before closing the Customize window because empty toolbars are automatically removed.
There are third party apps that allow you to organize your photos into folders with sub folders right on the iPad. One that I know of is called Photo-Sort for iPad.

One place to check is the hidden Library folder under your user account. From the Finder Menu click Go > Go To Folder > Enter: ~/Library/
IF YOU ARE UNSURE DO NOT DELETE SOMETHING
You may be able to find refrences to old applications that you have uninstalled. There is another folder inside that one called Application Support (~/Library/Application Support/). Same idea goes here, old software folders can be safely blown away. Don't forget to empty the Trash!
Bonus Points?
You can use the same technique on the /Library folder aswell!
Happy Deleting!

3 GB out of what? How large is your hard drive? Rule of thumb: You should never let your hard drive get to where you have only 10-15% of space left.

My ipod is running out of room to put more songs on it and I have a 4GB ipod and I only have 488 songs. How can I make more room on my ipod fore more songs?

Delete other content from it or restore it. Note that if the songs are encoded at a bitrate higher than 128Kbps or longer than 4 minutes, the iPod won't hold as many as advertised.

You can compress the music on the iPod so each song takes up less storage. In the Summary pane for the iPod is iTunes there is a check box that says "Convert higher bitrate songs to XX kbps ACC. 128 is a good compromise on storage space and music quality.

• How do I make more storage on my iPod?

How do I make more room in the "other" section of my storage? I want to rent a movie and they keep saying I don'y have enough room to download it. I checked iTunes and the most packed section of my storage is the 'other' catagory. How do I clear it?

Bear in mind that the amount may well be normal. If it's truly too much, a Restore will help.
From your computer's iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Try downloading omnidiscsweeper
http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omnidisksweeper/
and check to see that are no large folders of files that you do not know about on your computer. Normally it will be Pics, Music or Movies.
If everyfile is required then you may well have to physically back a lot of it up to an external drive. You need a minimum of 15% free disc space to operate at a reasonable rate.
