Ok so someone stole my iphone 6 at school and ive been trying to locate it but i can't because i don't have an icloud account. So i've been trying to us my computer to make an icloud account but everytime i try to log in with my apple id it says "Apple ID is valid. But is not an icloud account". i really need help to make an icloud account so i can lock my iphone 6 please help!!!! me

Hi, I set up a icloud account on my iphone. Unfortunately, the email/apple ID I typed in was misspelt. In my iphone - setting - icloud, the phone is trying to vertify the account, but cannot because there is no such email and therefore cannot be veritfy.
How do I get rid of this emai/apple iD ? It is preventing me from setting up an ciloud account and using it on my iphone.
I should add, I have now created the correct Apple ID and other parts of hte phone are working well, so I dont wish to lose this apple id.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did follow all the steps but came to a holt when it asked for me to turn off My iPhone in order to complete the process. I did attempt to do this, went to settings - cloud - turn off find my iphone- before hand but it didnt work. I had hoped that the delete and restore would overrule this problem. So I cant tur off Find my phone. If I can turn that off, then I can finish the process
But again I cant do anything until I vertify the account. I have tried to delete the account in Setting - iCloud but again , it calls for me to vertify.
Is there are anotherway around this, so that I can finalise the restoration?

If you want to move to a new, separate iCloud account you have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data to the new account. Deleting the account will only delete it from your phone, not from iCloud. This will not effect other devices still using the account. Also, you can continue to share your ID for the iTunes and App stores even though you will have a different ID for iCloud. They do not need to be the same.
To begin, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them. To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom). Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge. This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, if you have any data in either iCloud account that you no longer want (such as someone else's contacts) you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete it.

If you forgot your password, reset it here: https://iforgot.apple.com. Then to change it on your phone do the following:
For purchasing go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores (Settings>Store in iOS 5), tap the ID, sign out, sign back in using your new password.
For iMessage, do the same thing in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (Receive At in iOS 5).
For FaceTime, do this in Settings>FaceTime.
For iCloud, you have to go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (This only deletes the account from the phone, not from iCloud. It also deletes any data you are syncing with your iCloud account from your phone, but not from iCloud.) Then sign back into your iCloud account using your new password and turn syncing back on to sync your data back to your phone. (If prompted, choose Merge.)

You would have to delete your account from your device first, then change your Apple ID at http://appleid.apple.com (if not already happened) and then add your account again using your new email address.

But lets be clear. You actually stopped using an Apple ID and created a NEW Apple ID. You didn't just change the email address of your Apple ID? That means that all of the music and apps purchased with the old Apple ID will have to be purchased again.
If you really did create a new Apple ID you will need the password associated with the old one to disable Activation Lock. There is no way around this. As I said, the old one still exists. You can use the standard tools to recover the password at https://appleid.apple.com.
