How do I make sure my photos are saved before deleting them from my phone

How do I know my pictures have been saved to Icloud before I delete them from my phone

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.  This is covered in the manual.

how do i make sure my pictures are saved to camer roll or aperture

Is there anyway of checking they are in itunes before I restore?
I've never used the contacts part of sync process as I wasn't sure if it would store the contacts I have on my phone on my computer or vice versa (which would be crap as I don't really use outlook etc for contact storage)
    Any suggestions?

  • I currently have an iPhone 5, 16gb. I Do Not want to Loose any photos or albums by deleting them from my phone and not backing them up correctly. My iCloud backup is only storing my "Photo Stream" and I can not locate them in iTunes after I sync/Back up.

I currently have an iPhone 5, 16gb. My storage is almost full on my phone. There are only 80 mg available. I am new to icloud and also have always had trouble navigating around iTunes. (Even after endlessly reading through support and help topics as well as calling)   My concern is about Not Losing any of my photos if I delete them from my phone. I have to delete a large portion of my camera roll as well as the Album Folders I have created. Although it would be great if there was a way to just keep my albums still. I have already backed them up to an external hard-drive, my computer and a geek stick. I'm not trying to be too paranoid about these photos, but, they are all of my 3 children. There are over 4000 pictures stored on my phone. Some photos go back as far as 2009.   Can you offer any information about backing up my Camera Roll, not just "Photo Stream", and albums I've created On my phone? I read that it's good to back photos up on both iTunes as well as icloud. I even purchased extra icloud storage to back them all up.   I do regularly back up/sync, my phone to my computers.   However, I cannot even locate where they are stored on iTunes, let alone look at them. And as far as my iCloud backup, it only stores the new pictures from "Photo Stream".   Please offer any advice you may have. I do not use up a lot of storage on my phone other than Photos and Contacts (it's a work phone).   I would definitely be able to sleep better knowing my children can one day see these pictures of themselves. I appreciate your time. Thank you,

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.
    What computer do you have?

  • How do I make sure my pictures are being backed up on my photo stream?

I kept getting notifications every time I charged my phone telling me that I didn't have enough space in iCloud for my phone to be backed up. I deleted the camera roll from being backed up on iCloud because I was told the last 1,000 pictures would automatically be uploaded to my photo stream on iCloud. I was also told that my photo streams do not count against iCloud storage because my phone hadn't been backed up for 11 weeks. How do I make sure my picture are being backed up on my photo stream?

Photo stream doesn't back up photos, it streams them to your other devices.  Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, allowing sufficient time for them to download to your devices/computers.  It is true that photo stream photos don't count against your storage.
You also shouldn't rely on your backup to save your camera roll if you're going to delete the photos from your phone.  If you delete them, then back up again, the new backup will overwrite the backup containing the deleted photos and they will be lost.
If you want to save your photos, import them to your computer using your usb cable as explained here: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer.

  • HT1355 If I am playing a song from my phone on speakers, how can I make sure that there are no interruptions like calls or notifications?

If I am playing a song from my phone on speakers, how can I make sure that there are no interruptions like calls or notifications? My students are performing and it would be terrible if there was to be an interruption.

You could turn on Do Not Disturb. This would block all notifications and incoming calls.
Or just turn you're phone's Airplane Mode on if you're not streaming the music

With Adobe Muse when I make a change I have a second Admin user how do we make sure these changes are not overridden

If you're both using Muse then it's no different than if you were both using PS, AI, Word, etc. You need to use a mechanism to enable you to both have access to the latest version of the .muse file (i.e. Creative Cloud Files folder, Dropbox, file server location, etc.).
Changes made in the browser will sync back to the .muse file. Changes made in Muse are saved in the .muse file and if you're going to work on the site in Muse on two different machines then you need to have the up-to-date .muse file on the other machine.

I have multiple devices used by family members, how do you make sure the kids don't see Moms messages from Dad and visa versa?

    Hi Roger:
Thanks for the reply.  I think I figured out the problem.  Apple has confused (at least in my mind) the different IDs that people can have.  In the iCloud settings, they use the term Apple ID and not iCloud ID.  I guess there really is no such thing as an iCloud ID.  There are Apple IDs with various attributes.  This is not clearly explained or easy to see (how could I look up to see if my Apple ID is associated with iTunes for example?).
I created, what I thought were iCloud IDs for each family member, but we all use my Apple ID for iTunes.
One other question - why does the syncing of Notes using iCloud require an @me.com email account.  That makes no sense to me.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi iprover,
Let me first say that I am NO EXPERT with anything Apple and really have only started looking into this iCloud stuff a few hours ago because I'm trying to help my mom free up some space on her iCloud. But anyway, here's what I'm learning and what I THINK might be happening to you.
Also, if any Apple support people (do they browse the forums to dish out helpful hints?) or people who probably know infinitely more than me about this stuff, please do chime in and confirm / correct my statements!
    This is what I gather.
iCloud for Windows is set up with a local folder (let's call it "C:\Users\Administrator\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream") where iCloud will store photos uploaded to the Photo Stream. This will allow you to view your Photo Stream photos on your PC.
This does not mean that this is a PC backup of your Photo Stream photos, but just a way to view your Photo Stream from your PC. That being said, the general Photo Stream rules apply: 1. No videos are on the photo-stream, and 2. Photos on the Photo Stream will be removed after ~30 days and/or after hitting the Photo Stream limit of 1000 photos.
My guess is that the iCloud Windows App will delete photos from the local folder that are older than ~30 days and/or delete all but the most recent 1000 items if the 1000-item limit is reached.
That is a scary thought! I really hope you did not lose all your pictures, but my guess is that the iCloud local folder is NOT meant for backup but instead is the iCloud Windows App's sandbox for updating and managing Photo Stream photos.
All that being said, I'd say it's important to back up your photos in a separate folder not related to the iCloud local folder.

  • HT204022 If I delete my photo stream photos off of my iPhone will they also delete from my photo stream on my MacBook Pro? If so how can I ensure that those photos are saved?

If I delete my photo stream photos off of my iPhone will they also delete from my photo stream on my MacBook Pro? If so how can I ensure that those photos are saved?

They will not be deleted if they have been imported to your iPhoto library.  To ensure this happens automatically, go to iPhoto>Preferences>iCloud and check Automatic Import:
To confirm that they have been imported to your library, click on iCloud on the left sidebar of iPhoto, open your My Photo Stream album on the right, then Control-Click on your pictures.  If you see "Show in Library" in the pop-up, the picture has been imported to your library and you can safely delete it from photo stream.

  • Hi, I've upgraded my iCloud storage and uploaded my 3000  photos. I now want to delete them from my phone. Can I still access them from the cloud of I do? If so how? Thank you in advance.m

Hi, I've upgraded my iCloud storage and uploaded 3000+ photos.  Can I safely delete them from my phone and still access them from the cloud? Thank you

    Hey linsfrombrandon,
The closest you will get to have your photos live in iCloud and not taking as much storage space on your iPhone is by using iCloud Photo Library. What it does is makes your Photos live in iCloud but also appear on your iPhone and other iOS devices and computers. It will be the exact same so any changes will be reflected everywhere. When they are on your iPhone, there is an option to use a compressed version. Take a look at the FAQs page and let me know if you have any other questions before making this decision to turn this on. I would also make sure that you have a safe copy of your photos before moving forward.

  • HT204022 I have successfully saved all of the photos on my Iphone 5 to my PC.  Now I want to delete them from my phone so that i can free up space and take more pictures.  How do I do this?

I have saved all of the photos on my Iphone 5 to my PC.  Now I want to delete them from my phone only to free up space and take more pictures and video.  How do I do this?

You sould have been given the option to delete them after importing when you imported them, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
To do this on your phone, open the album you want to delete photos from (so you are viewing the thumbnails), tap Select, tap the photos, then tap the trash icon.  (There is no "select all" option.)

All the photos from my computer were transferred to my iphone.  I don't know what I did to make that happen and I can't even delete them from my phone.  I had to reset and restore my phone to original settings and lost all my iphone photos and contacts and messeges.  Has this happened to anyone who might know how to fix this or next time I sync my iphone to prevent the photos from my computer from downloading onto my phone?

You delete them the same way you put them there.  The sync process.  Open itunes, connect iphone, select what you want on the iphone, sync

  • How can i see(view) my photos in iCloud before deleteing it?

how can i see(view) my photos in iCloud before deleteing it?

What photos, photos in your photo stream? If so, these can only be viewed:
On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your photos will appear in the Photos app in the Photo Stream album.
On your Mac, they appear in the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture.
On a PC, your photos download to the Photo Stream download folder. By default, this folder is located atC:\Users\Apple\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream. You can change this location by visiting Photo Stream Options in the iCloud Control Panel for Windows.
On Apple TV, your photos will appear in the Photo Stream view under Internet in the main Apple TV menu after you sign in with your iCloud account.

  • I want to dump my photos from my phone onto my pc automatically, and then delete them from my phone. How do I do this?

My wife and I both have an iphone 4s. We have been taking photos, and now the space on our phones is maxed out. Is there a way for me to automatically dump the photos onto my computer, and delete photos on my phone so that I hog up the space with photos? It seems like this shouldn't be complicated, but for some reason, I can't figure out how to copy the photos to my pc, and then delete them from my phone.

Connect the phone to your computer and open whatever image capture application you have on the computer. An application you use to transfer photos from a camera to your PC should work with the iPhone. The computer will recognize the phone as a camera and allow you to copy photos to the computer, you can then keep or delete the photos from the iPhone.
