How do I make text vertical in a table

How do I make text vertical within a table using pages '09?

You need to type the text in a Textbox, turn off text wrap, rotate that 90° using the Metric Inspector then position it over the cells you want the text vertical.

    You can't do it in Pages. You will need something like Art Text.

  • How to write text vertically in an table cell?

    Is it possible to make a table cell where the
    text would be written along a vertical base line?
    I found how to make a text box and rotate it
    vertically.
    How may I place such a text box in a table cell?
    dan

    Hello daniel,
    if the table will not be resized or repositioned a lot, the best way to display what you want to have is to create a textbox with the styles and adjustments you need, rotate it and place it over the table cell. Be sure to make the cell big enough to pretend the text of the textbox would be inside of it. The textbox has to be a fix positioned object in the top layer.
    It's only a work-around, but the best you can achieve.
    Frank.

  • How to align the text vertical in the edit box in mfc?

    Hi,
    I had an edit box of which height is increased than the default.Now the problem here is when I am entering text into the edit box the text is not present at the centre of the edit box, It is still aligned at the top.
    After increasing the height of the edit box the text and cursor are aligned at the top as shown in the below figure.
    But Actually how I want is the text and the cursor position needs to be aligned centre as shown in the below figure.
    Note: "EDITTEXT        IDC_EDIT_BOX,10,73,156,14,ES_AUTOHSCROLL"
    Can anyone please help me how can I make the text and the position of the cursor to be aligned vertically i.e, to the centre of the control.
    SivaV

    If vertical alignment is not possible, then use an edit box without borders, having the default height, and place it inside a static control having
    SS_WHITERECT style. (In MFC Dialog Editor, set the Type and Colour properties). Both of controls will be children of dialog. Use a proper tab order. Check if the style
    WS_CLIPSIBLINGS is needed too.

  • How do you make photos vertical in iPhoto calendar?

    When making a calendar in iPhoto, and you choose 6 or 7 photos to be displayed on that month, how do you make the 4 little photos vertical?

    You can't change the frame.  But you can Control-click on the photos and select Fit Photo to Frame Size and it will reduce the size of the photo so the entire portrait photo will display in the frame.  The excess background will be the same color of the page's background.

  • How do I make text in an ul shift left closer to the bullet?

    How can I make the text in a <ul> list shift to the left a little so that it is closer to the <li> bullet?
    I assume I should use CSS for this.

    Use CSS margins & padding.
    <style type="text/css">
    /**zero out browser default settings**/
    ul, li  {margin:0; padding:0}
    li {
    list-style:circle;
    margin-left: 50px; /**indent**/
    padding-left: 5px;  /**space between text and bullet**/
    </style>
    HTML:
    <ul>
    <li>some list item</li>
    <li>some list item</li>
    <li>some list item</li>
    </ul>

  • How do I make text sit on top of an image without it disappearing.

    I am currently copying and pasting images with captions from quark express files to indesign cs6 files.
    Everytime I copy and paste these images the captions which are on top of the image disappear behind
    the image.  How do I put the text back on top of the image?  and in general how do you put text on top
    of an image without it disappearing?

    This is probably a really bad workflow that will end up biting you. I've not actually been able to copy a an image box from Quark and paste it into ID to test, so I don't know waht youare doing, exactly, but odds are you are not pasting a link to the image (doe sit show a link in ID's Links panel?). If not, you should be building this from scratch or opening the Quark file directly in ID (up to version 4 with out a plugin, later than that requires the Q2ID plugin from Markzware).

  • How to Change default text in Multi-Selection Table Bar

    Hi,
    I would like to change the default text "Select Object" on the Multi-selection Table Bar.
    I tried adding the following in my resultsCO but I'm getting errors:
    tableBean.setTableSelectionText("<newText>");
    Error(25,34): invalid method declaration; return type required
    Error(25,35): illegal start of type
    Error(25,3): missing method body, or declare as abstract
    What am I missing?
    Thanks much.

    I got it to work with the following:
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OATableBean table = (OATableBean)webBean;
    // Set the install-base specific "control bar" select text:
    // "Select Item(s)…"
    table.setTableSelectionText("Select Item(s)...");
    }

  • How do you make a vertical font?

    Hello, I was recently playing one of the popular games from Storm8 (iMobsters, World War, Kingdoms Live) and I noticed some people were able to use a special font. The word "the" was shown vertically; as in, the "t" was on top of the "h", then the "h" on top of the "e". This was not done through pressing return and skipping to the next line, but rather it seemed to be a whole character. I think this is a special type of unicode, but I am not sure where or how to replicate this. Does anyone know how this might be done? Thanks for your time!

    Well I would ask the people who do this how they did it of course, but the problem is they think they are gods just because they know how to do it and they don't tell anyone how they did it.
    And I am well aware of the Emoji, but unfortunately, this is not an Emoji. As I said, this is more of a unicode thing than emoji; Emoji are bright, and look cartoonish. This special vertical font is just regular iphone text letters on top of one another like this:
    t
    h
    e
    (except for the pressing return to go to next line.) To put it more clearly, imagine "the" (with the t above the h, etc) above the letter "A" in the word "Assault". This is how it is. Any other ideas as to the method to doing this? I've heard of Unicode Lab, Unicode Free, or maybe some other app to do this....
