How Do I Manage "Group"/"Distribution List" Members?

I downloaded iCloud recently to my android smart phone.  I use Outlook 2007 as my mail program.  When I"m on my pc (MS 8.1) & check my contacts, I find my "distribution lists"/'Groups" in a new list on the left side, but I cannot open these "lists/groups" therefore,  I cannot manage membership on them.   The "groups" won't open to show me who the members are.
How do I solve this question?

In Contacts, you can create Groups, of course. First and best, make the Groups visible (Command-1, or click View in the menu bar, then Groups).
You add contacts to Groups per simple drag and drop. You delete contacts from Groups by pressing backspace, or delete (if you have the extended keyboard), or -> Edit -> Remove From Group.

  • How does everyone manage Email Distribution Lists in E-Business Suite

We have heaps of email distribution lists stored in Oracle Ebusiness Suite, excel, access ..you name it!
I would like to use a standard method for tagging contacts in the CRM Sales and Marketing Online so our employees can run reports to create external mailing lists.
Today we use classification codes to do this. Have also thought about using a descriptive flex field and report on that to create a contact list with name and email addresses.
Anybody have a better idea for how to achieve this in Oracle Marketing/Sales Online?
Ideally, we would like to create a customer facing website so people could subscribe/unsubscribe from email lists and have it fully integrated 'plugged in' to the above solution.

    Thanks Ravi for your response.
No, no such kind of reasons.
Indeed I can send successfully to a simple email address but not to the distribution list ...
The problem is right there, in the fact that there is a ditribution list but I really don't know what's the problem ...
Have you ever use a distribution list? Any special thing to do with it?
    A'll appreciate any help.

Thanks. I was hoping to find something other than Groups, because when you sync with a mobile device, it maps the groups to Categories in the device. This adds a lot of complexity to data and many mobile devices have some limitations on categories.
But thanks for the quick response!

  • How to create a group mailing list in JavaMail?

    Hello,
I've been searching through the entire API, specifically the InternetAddress class and I can't seem to find out how to create a group/mailing list. Does anyone know how to do this?
That is, I would like to be able to group a bunch of e-mail addresses together and give that group a name "my friends". Then send it off using this 'group mail address' as opposed to an array of InternetAddress[]. Then when the recipients receive the e-mail, they see "my friends" in the To: field, instead of everyone's e-mail address...
Is this possible in JavaMail? I've tried many things like creating an InternetAddress object passing in a comma-delimited list of e-mail addresses but it doesn't like it.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi:
I have the same problem. I've read JavaMail implements RFC 822 which allow mailing lists. But, how can I implement it with JavaMail?

  • How to create a security group to manage a Distribution list in exchange 2013

    Hi folks,
We have AD synced with Online Exchange 2013. Dirsync is installed on AD. We would like to create a security group for a Distribution list(for instance: distribution list name is [email protected] and it is managed via a security group named "abc" ).
How can this be achieved? I do see an option under Online Exchange console using browser-> Groups to create a new security group but it doesn't allow me to add the group created in AD-instead it ask us to create a new one. If we create a new one in Exchange
online console- will it publish to our local AD?

    Hi TR,
    Thank you for your question.
Are there any errors when we could not add group which is in local AD.
When we could not add group which was created In AD, there are following options we could check:
If current user who logon Exchange server has enough permission to add it
The connection between Exchange server and AD
If we create a new DG in Exchange online, it will be published to local AD.
We could run the following command to create DG for abc.com:
New-DistributionGroup -Name "abc" -Alias abc -Type "Security" -MemberJoinRestriction open
We could refer to the following link to learn more about distribution group:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124513%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

  • Unity 4.x - Limits of Distribution List members

Is there a limit to how many members you can add to a public and/or private distribution list in Unity 4.2?

    Hi Johnny,
Subscribers > Class of Service > Features Page
    Lists Available to Subscribers
Enter a number between one and 99 to specify the maximum number of private lists available to subscribers who are assigned to this COS. Subscribers can manage their private lists by phone and from the Cisco Unity Assistant.
Though both the Cisco Unity conversation and the Cisco Unity Assistant use this setting to determine when a subscriber has reached the maximum number of lists, consider that each application calculates the number of lists that a subscriber owns differently:
•When a subscriber tries to use the phone to create a new list by adding members, the Cisco Unity conversation counts the number of private lists that have members, and then compares the total to the value in this setting to determine whether the subscriber has reached the list limit. Lists with no members (empty lists) are not included in the total number of lists that a subscriber owns, even if the lists have recorded names and/or text names.
•When a subscriber tries to use the Cisco Unity Assistant to create a new list, the Cisco Unity Assistant counts the number of lists that have a recorded voice name, a text name or members, and then compares the total to the value in this setting to determine whether the subscriber has reached the list limit. Lists with no members are included in the total number as long as they have recorded names and/or text names.
This means that if a subscriber belongs to a class of service that allows 15 lists, and the subscriber has 12 private lists with members and two lists with recorded names but no members, the subscriber can potentially create more lists by phone than in the Cisco Unity Assistant before reaching the list limit:
•When the subscriber uses the Cisco Unity conversation, the subscriber will reach the list limit either by adding members to the two empty lists and creating one new list, or by creating three new lists. If the subscriber reaches the limit by creating three new lists, the subscriber cannot add members to the two empty lists until two lists are deleted.
•When the subscriber uses the Cisco Unity Assistant, the subscriber will reach the list limit by creating one new list. Despite reaching the list limit, the subscriber can add members to the two empty lists.
You can set up private lists for a subscriber on the applicable Subscribers > Subscribers > Private Lists page, though the subscriber is the only person who can send voice messages to the list.
    Maximum Members Per List
Enter a number between one and 999 to specify the maximum number of members that subscribers can add to a private list when they use the Cisco Unity conversation or the Cisco Unity Assistant. (There is no limit imposed on the number of members that can be added to a private list when you use the Subscribers > Subscribers > Private Lists page to add members to a list.)

  • Recursively get distribution list members

    Hi,
I've been asked to supply the membership of several of our large distribution lists.  However, these lists are heavily nested, so I need to get membership recursively starting from the top level list.  The old ONDL.EXE utility could do this.  I was wondering if there was a powershell command that could accomplish the same thing.  The get-distributiongroupmember cmdlet does not seem to have recursive abilities.  If not, could someone help me with a script to do this?
    Thanks,
    Don

This is kind of long, but works:
    (watch line wraps)
Save it as something like get-exgrouprecurse.ps1, and call it like this:
    $members  = get-exgrouprecurse <group name>
Then, $members will contain all the members full objects, and the group name they are actually in

  • How to set up text distribution list

I found out how to set up an email distribution list without buying an app but now I need to know how to do the same with sending texts, without buying an app and by associating a contact to it. I don't want to send a group text and only access that group by pulling up the text screen. All I want to do is assign a few numbers to a group name and use that group name to send a next message to the recipients. Any ideas?

Since a phone number field in Contacts does not have the ability to delineate between numbers, probably not. Theoretically, I suppose it could work if applied for recipients getting iMessages AND using email as the receive address, but hard to say. But for SMS texting, no.

  • Address Book Groups - Distribution List problems

Recently upgraded to 10.6 and now on 10.6.3 - 2 Problems which are probably related:
1 - I cannot save changes to an edited Distribution List- I select the desired email address (ie it's in bold) and then click OK. When I go back to edit the list the changes have not been saved and it seems to randomly make changes to the selections.
2 - I have a (Smart) Group in Address Book and when I use that group in Mail the wrong email is selected for some of the members of the group - ie the emails used by Mail does not always match the selections in the Distribution List
Used to work fine in 10.5

    Oh no!
until now I though, it was my fault, but it seems to be a bug. I have the same problem with the distribution list. In my system, the mails are allways sent to the upper emailadress, even if the lower adress is highlighted.
Did anybody file allready a bug-report to apple?
