How do I manage Video Ram size

Hello,
I would like to ask how do I adjust the size of video ram in OSX and windowsXP. I have read someone's post saying that it is not user changeable in OSX. if it is not changeable, when will it changeable to a larger size? How about in windowsXP? Is it also unchangeable?
Thanks a lot,

You are aware that video RAM is a physical factor while "OS X" or "Windows XP" are software operating systems. The system you use plays no role in how large your video RAM is. If you want to adjust your video RAM usage, go to the monitor control panel and change the resolution and color depht.
If, on the other hand, what you were trying to say was that some laptops that run on Windows allow you to upgrade them with physical video RAM, I guess it must be so. The Macbook doesn't allow this and uses shares video RAM which, to my understanding, means that it uses a part of the main RAM for video.

I build PC on motherboard A68HM-E33 and CPU AMD A4000 with integrated videoadapter AMD Radeon HD 7480D and RAM DDR3-1600 4 Gb. Operation system Linux 64bit using only 3GB,  Video RAM size 768MB. I need less then 128 MB
How change video RAM size in this motherboard BIOS?
    Thanks.

It does not appear that you can change VRAM size on that MB. I downloaded the manual and there was nothing in BIOS that even came close to allowing any changes for it.
"Video RAM size 768MB. I need less then 128 MB"
Where do you find that number?

  • How to adjust shared video memory size - R10/R600 Win7 Prof 32bit

    Hi,
I use two laptops in business - R600 and R10. Both with Intel 4500 graphic card and shared video memory. Both win Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. In both cases system reserves 1159MB for video memory. As I don't play any games I have no need to waste such a huge memory amount - I would like to free as much as possible for system and programs.
For trial purposes I installed Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. Surprisingly it reserves only 199MB for video memory - so it looks like OS issue.
Does anybody know how can I decrease the video memory size in Windows 7 32bit?
    Regards,
    pab 567

As far as I know this cannot be done manually and shared memory is controlled by system.
If you dont use it for gaming I dont see any problem there. I dont know what kind of activity you do with your notebook but I cannot imagine there is no enough memory for every day activities.
Is there not enough power for certain operations or what?

  • How to add dedicated video ram to my laptop?

I have 8 gb of ram but only 32 mb are used for dedicated video ram? How can I increase this ram? I tried the bios setup but there is nothing listed. I have this model of my laptop SVT15112CXS. Thank you in advance

    Hi AeonJecht,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Unfortunately, we cannot increase the dedicated video RAM for Vaio SVT15112CXS / computers. The settings usually located in BIOS. I'm sorry but we do not have that settings in BIOS.

  • Help! How to change the video frame size during RTP transmission

    Hi there.
    In a RTP transmission:
How can I change the size of the frames of the video while I have the processor in the server running?
i.e. while the server is running, i want to change a video from 400x200 to 200x100
    Thanks

I am trying to implement the same functionality. I've tried to reset the format using the trackControl.setFormat method but this only appears to be supported while the processor is in a configured state. I'm still investigating, but if you happen to know a solution please let me know.
Here is what I'm trying to do... In the middle of a session, I'm trying to change the video format from h263/rtp:352x288 to h263/rtp:176x144

  • How do I manage video and music without a mac?

With iOS5 and iCloud solving almost all of my problems, I decided to replace all my computing needs for an iPad 2. I will keep my iMac solely to manage my music and video needs, since I have a huge library in an external drive. So I started wondering: is it possible to access the media on my hard drive from the iPad without using a computer of any kind? Would the USB adapter allow this? Or maybe a networked drive?

You might try putting your harddrive on your wifi and see if there's some sort of file management app that would allow you to access it.
Some people have reported limited success accessing a powered harddrive via the camera kit (which has an SD and USB dongle you can put into your iPad)
that said, accessing it and getting it into iTunes might be two separate battles. (to the music folder and video folders to be able to play it)
Perhaps if you put iTunes on the harddrive and the music/videos in iTunes then try to access it via home sharing????
Sorry I don't have a direct answer, I'm just trying to brain storm.

  • How can I reduce video file size?

I have a WMV file (4.6 MB) that has a bad sound track. I started a new Premiere project and placed the MP4 file, split the audio track, and used Audition to fix the problems with the sound.
Then I opened the file in Media Encoder (2014) and I've tried numerous settings to export the file as MP4, AVI, or WMV. My exported WMV is 40MB. The MP4 is 108MB. The AVI was over 1GB.
I've tried reducing the frame rate to 10fps. I've used various HD 720p presets. No matter what I do, the smallest file I've been able to create is 10 times the size of the original.
    Clearly I'm doing something wrong.
I know a fair amount about audio, but very little about video. After several hours of searching online resources, all I have is more questions.
It's there a Media Encoder for Dummies section?
    Thanks.

Thanks, Joost, but I see no setting for bandwidth. Here's what I see and the resulting (11 minute) file is 76 MB when the source file was less than 5MB. Output is down to 10fps and audio is mono and downsampled to AM-radio quality. Clearly I am not seeing something that I should see.

  • Import from iPhoto: how does Aperture manage videos?

This is relevant to some persons migrating from iPhoto to Aperture. My iPhoto Library contains a few small camera videos. I know Aperture doesn't handle these. When it does the import into Aperture, does it let the user know that there are some files it can't handle? Does it make it easy for someone to discard their iPhoto Library without losing the videos?

So someone who wished to dump their iPhoto Library after migrating to Aperture, might unwittingly lose videos they'd forgotten about -- they have to know to search for the videos and set them aside. Aperture does not help avoid that error.
(I saw your note on needing to keep iPhoto. It's true that one may use iPhoto for its many unique secondary services, but keeping two libraries of the same images is ridiculously inefficient.)
I've long been tempted to migrate to Aperture, but the inability to change 'image acquired' dates, concerns about how trustworthy the iPhoto migration really is, and Aperture's lack of official support for the MacBook have all held me back.
This lack of attention to detail wrt to iPhoto import reinforces the sense I have that Aperture isn't where I personally need it to be (not that iPhoto is perfect, but that's the devil I know). I know it works well for many others and I may yet migrate --- probably in a year or two and then only if they decide to support the MacBook.

  • How to properly manage videos between iPhone - iPhoto - iTunes

Maybe Im going about this all wrong, but this is what I do.  I take pics and videos on my iphone.  Eventually I plug it into the computer and iPhoto asks me to import.  I select all the items I want to import so all gets put into iPhoto.
iTunes is a different matter.  A few months ago I saw my iCloud account was full.  So I realized that I could back up my iphone to iTunes and then import everything to iPhoto and after importing, tell iPhoto to delete those videos and photos from my Camera Roll.  No big deal cause its all imported into iPhoto.  Not only that but now my camera roll was not so full, so my iCLoud was not packed.
However I notice that videos are not backed up.  In other words, when Itunes backs up my stuff, what I mean is, all my pictures get moved out of Camera Roll and into an album, such as Last Imported or any event that I created for it.  But only pics are present, no videos.  Thus I have to go to iPhoto to view my videos.
I guess it makes sense, otherwise my iphone storage itself would fill up quite quickly.
Is this the best way to manage this?
The one thing that worries me, is that now my MBA is filling up and I have this 27GB .... oh wait, its a 27GB iMovie file!  Man Im confused...

Cannot address your Mac questions, but as far as iCloud is concerned, you are correct that video files are not in the iCloud backup. Those are only found in a regular iTunes backup. And video files are handled on a different tab in iTunes, not the same one as photos. You also would access the photos in the Photo library, while you access the videos in the Videos app.

  • How can i increase the ram size for my applet

    Hi all,
I am trying to load my applet on a schlumberger simera 3 classic card.
the applet runs fine on the simulator, but when i run the applet on the card , it crashes after 2 or 3 proactive commands.
Is it because i could be out of memory or stack overflow?
what are the limitations and how can i get around them.
    thanks

The limitations are card product specific, so you should ask Schlumberger these questions.

  • Satellite 320 CDT video ram problem

    Hello
I have an old Satellite 320 CDT laptop with a display problem.
It works ok but display is abnormal. It does special effects (moving zebra style, especially in 32 bits display mode).
The same problems happens with an external monitor.
I am looking for replacing the video ram IC because i'm nearly sure it is the problem.
First step i need to open the laptop. I've removed the battery pack, the hard disk and all the screws but i can't open it.
What is the correct method to do this ?
Second step, how to locate the video ram component ?

    Hi Pascal
To be honest I think there is no sense in doing that.
The point is that your issue could be related to the faulty graphic card and the graphic card chip is fixed on the motherboard. Mostly its not possible to remove this chip and therefore the whole motherboard must be replaced.
I think its better to search a little bit for the similar notebook on eBay.
A second hand notebook would be much cheaper as a new motherboard for the Satellite 320CDT

  • How do I get the full size of my pics or video into the time line?

    Greetings,
I've nener been part of a forum before and an wondering if this will actually be taken seriously. I'm new to video editing and know little about the program I am using (Adobe Premiere Pro CC). Would someone please advise me as to how I can add the full size video or pics to the time line. It appears whenever I add something from my Gopro 3 HD camera I only get a partial of the video / pic.

Some of this is from the Premiere Elements forum, but the idea of sizing pictures is the same for PPro or Encore
Pictures that are "overly" large may cause video editing problems
