I remember live bookmarks can add them by presenting an icon, but what if all I can get is the feed url?

That functionality is not to be found in Apple Mail for Safari. Your best bet is the brilliant free RSS reader Vienna. Works very well, highly recommended.

RSS feeds don't do that - if they add the feed to an RSS reader (including Safari or FireFox) they will see new updates every time they check: but sending them emails on each added episode would require extra programming in the actual program, which iWeb doesn't provide. You would need to have a mailing list and send out an email manually each time you add an episode.

The app is not telling you that you need 9.1 on your iPad.
It does not use iTunes on the iPad for anything.
I'm trying to figure the version on my iPad.
It is the version that comes with your specific iOS firmware version.
But again, it is irrelevant to the app.
If you just got the iPad, it (the iPad) requires iTunes 10.4 on your computer.

How to Generate an iTunes U RSS Feed (to play on Website)

I'd liked to be able to play iTunes U podcasts on my college's homepage by parsing an RSS feed containing a podcast title, description, and a media enclosure (either .mp3 or .m4a). I'd use an RSS audio player to play the file on our page. We just migrated to the iTunes U Public site manager and I'm not finding any documentation online on how to accomplish this. Is this still possible (it was possible with the private version of iTunes U or even just iTunes podcasts in general). I noted below how I used to do it below. I've tried using the same work around with Public site manager without any success. We link to our iTunes U site in iTunes, but there are some instances when we'd like to be able to play these files outside of the iTunes application. I see how you can format your RSS feed to feed podcasts into iTunes U, but I'm not finding any documentation or examples that show how to pull iTunes U content from Public site manager.
Appreciate any suggestions.

To get the RSS feed for a tab in iTunes U (for subscribing outside of
iTunes):
1) Navigate in iTunes U to the "Course" containing your podcast.
2) Click on the tab for which you want to get the feed.
3) Right-click on the "Subscribe" button and "Copy iTunes Store URL".
4) Paste the link into a text editor to verify it matches this pattern:

Sorry for the tardiness of my reply.
In principle, a backup app much as you outline could be made. It would backup enough of a private site to allow you to restore it in a genuinely substantive way. An outline of how you would approach this would be as follows:
1. You would download full site XML. Apple has a web service API for that. This gives a sort of snapshot of the structure of your site.
2. You would traverse your site XML and download a copy of each content item in your private site. A small twist in this is that you would have to pick up extra things (course/album artwork, for example). There is no Apple API for this, but it's possible to do this other ways.
Unfortunately, I the process of creating such an app would be rough. Maybe a year ago or so, I worked on some code that would allow a person to backup a specific course/album page within a site. And I nearly finished that app, but got distracted with other stuff. If there were enough interest, I could revive that work. Unfortunately, it would have to be Mac-only, I'm afraid. I could probably tackle it in WIndows, but my OS X/iOS coding chops are a LOT stronger than they are for Windows.

I don't know what Apple was thinking with iTunes 11, this is the worst iTunes EVER. Year after year, Apple continues to ruin what used to be a great app.
In iTunes 11, your devices no longer appear on the left along side your playlists. There's now a spot in the top right corner that says the number of devices. If you click on that button you can see the devices that are connected, the ammount of free space and an eject icon but that's it. If you click on the device, you can set it up but I cannot seem to find a way to simply drag and drop a song from my music library to my iPod or more importantly to a specific playlist on my iPod. A very common thing... HOW DO I DRAG AND DROP SONGS INTO AN IPOD PLAYLIST IN ITUNES 11???

I am trying to add additional feeds to my app but unsure how to do so. I have one set up and was given this piece of instruction by someone so I can add more:
"We have created an array for the feeds i.e. feedsController. All we need to do is create a new view controller for the new feeds. In "StartingView.m", the things that we need to change here is just replace the new view controller's name with "FeedsView" as well as the FeedsView's object name i.e., "feedsView" with lowercase "f"."

I've the same issue as everybody else the most annoying thing to me the new web pages that opened and you can’t access them beside the lock key that you have to push it hundred time to get it unlocked. This is dependent on the RSS feed itself. Many feeds only include summaries of the articles, which is likely what's going on with the feeds you're subscribed to. If the feed does show the full text of the article, it'll show up in Mail.

The reason I was looking for a "redirect" solution, is because if you inadvertently click the "Home" or "News Feed" links on your facebook page... it will revert you to the NEW layout, which sucks!
