Did you createa smart playlist? It's purple with a gear icon.
And you set the criteria to
    Match rule:
Date added is in the last two weeks?
I tried it, but couldn't get it to work. I think I had trouble with the Rule. I put a Rule in as follows: Data added in the last five hours? I added music (data) but nothing appeared in my Smart Playlist. Oh yes - I named the playlist: Recently Added.
What did I do wrong? Is it necessary to have a question mark at the end of the Rule? I couldn't find anything on how to create a Smart Playlist in Help. There is stuff in there, but it does not go into much detail, i.e., nothing on the proper wording of the Rule.

  • How do i get rid of price finder pop ups on my mac?

I am getting price finder pop ups every time in shopping on line or even just browsing the web. Does any body know how to get rid of the price finder pop ups?

    Try this: http://www.thesafemac.com/arg/
This is because you installed recently a third party software, please don't install third party software unless you are absolutely sure of its origins and how to get rid of them. Remember, Macs are not inmune to virus, specially adwares

Block pop-up windows is not checked in my preferences, yet when I try to play a card game at a yahoo site it won't allow me to join table because it says "please set browser to allow pop-ups to join table". What do I do to join the games then?

Open Firefox -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content section ->
press "Exceptions..." button infront of "Block Pop-up Windows"
-> Type the address of the website you wish to unblock pop-ups from e.g. www.yahoo.com -> Allow -> Close -> "OK" the Options window

Could anyone in simple terms show me how to remove this bug.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of today, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable word, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes the word is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
where the word something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
               something
where something is the same word you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • How to block new generation of pop ups and "pop ins."

There seems to have been a sea change in website design lately. In particular there appears to be a new generation of pop up windows that appear after a certain amount of time has elapsed or when one scrolls far enough down on the page. Many are designed to "pop in" from the sides; these ones usually slide into view almost as an animation.
I have pop up blocking enabled in FF and I have tried a couple of add-ons but I am not able to defeat these "features." Any advice is appreciated.

They are actively driving me off of some sites. I can't believe anyone would re-implement this "feature" after so many people opted out by using popup blockers in the past. Thanks for the info though. Cheers.

  • How do i stop mac keeper among other pop-ups keep that appearing although i have blocked popups?

tryin to stop mac keeper and other pop ups

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Jack
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot" or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...

  • How do I block advertisements (regular, not pop-ups) ?

    Overnight I have been inundated.

Could you describe where these appear in more detail? For example:
    * Ads appear in websites that didn't used to be there
    * New tabs open with ads when I click links
    And so forth.
If you have installed any software recently, such as video downloaders or other "free" software, it is very common that advertising programs are bundled in. Clearing these out can take a few different steps:
    # Uninstall unwanted programs
    # Scan for remaining malware/adware
    # Review and disable or remove Firefox extensions
    # Restore normal Firefox settings if needed (e.g., home page, search engine, new tab page)
So, the general to do list is the following (but if you come back with more details about the problem, it could get shorter):
    (1) Open the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. Click the "Installed in" column heading to bring the most recent items to the top. Remove anything suspicious.
    (2) This article lists scanners/cleaners that Firefox users have found helpful: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
    (3) Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    (4) Please describe the remaining issues for final clean-up steps

  • I cant get any pop ups to open? i have allowed sites and still cant get anything, so turned off and still cant enlarge pictures etc thru a pop window

i have firefox version 3.6.10, and until about a week ago, i had no problems clicking on pictures (example: on ebay) to enlarge them in a new pop window. i have tried disabling the pop up blocker completely, even though i had ebay as an "allow" site on my pop up blocker when it was enabled.
cant get any pop up to go through. in the lower left hand corner of the window, when i click on a link that should open a pop up window, all it shows is "javascript:;" and nothing happens
i have updated to the newest version of java and deleted older version.. still having issues

Ouch, tough spot, but offhand I'd say some memory may have gone bad, or maybe just needs re-seating after all this time.
Not much you can do, but try this anyway...
    PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.

  • How do i turn off the on-screen pop-ups and hint windows

I do a lot of copy/paste from websites. When I double click on something I get a very annoying link window (little pop-up) to google or wikipedia. I must be able to shut those off; they are interfering with my work. If I can't, I'll be forced back to I.E.
Also, I get these little 'tool tips' as I scroll across the screen. I use two screens, and I use the side bar (for example) As I move from the right screen to the left I get a tool tip telling me how to us it. I ALREADY KNOW.
I'm really annoyed at the number of things flashing up on my screen as I work, that I can't get shut off. They must go away, or FireFox will not work for me.

Co-el, This wasn't possible as there wasn't a navigation bar available. The F11 did the trick though. Thanks for adding to the discussion.

  • How to increase the number of rows in pop ups?

    Hi all,
We want to display 20 rows in a pop-up list of values. Only 10 rows can be displayed now, and we have to use next buttons or search character (%) to find the item. We want to increase 10 rows to 20, how can we do that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Gulsah.

    Hi Micheal,
Well, I am not really sure, if you could accomplish this using customizing, but I am sure that you can accomplish this using the JDI. Well, you can extract the application's source code using JDI and then change the required display rows property and republish it.
Am not really sure if this is suggestable method for this requirement, but it can be achieved using this JDI stuff.
