How do I manually cleans the garbage of FF?

How do I manually cleans the garbage of FF?
Hi
I know FF has built-in functionality to clean history, cache, cookies
I know there are programs such as CCleaner that do the same
I want to learn ok?
When I want to clean (index.dat, Temp, Cookies, History..) running IE 8, I create another account and from this "new account" I move all the IE 8 contents to another folder, next I create a partition and move this folder to this partition, finally Format and Wipe this partition with Acronis
I know the locations where all the "garbage" stores in IE 8, but I am lost with Firefox
IE 8
In IE 8 I delete all the content in these locations manually
\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Cookies\index.dat
\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat
\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\************\index.dat
\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local
\Settings\History\History.IE5\************\index.dat
\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local
\Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat
And others paths
I hash of the folders and subfolder of FireFox/Mozilla
Which folder do I have to delete? I do not want to have any "garbage"
If I can understand how to clean all the Temporary files, history, cookies, download history, form history manually using FF it will change my Life!!!

The urlclassifier3.sqlite file stores the encrypted contents of the phishing protection database and it is best to leave this file to avoid Firefox having to rebuild it.<br />
You can remove the file if it really gets to large (around 50 MB is not unusual).
The bookmarkbackups folder stores the daily created JSON backups with a maximum of 10.<br />
You can set that maximum in Firefox via the browser.bookmarks.max_backups pref on the about:config page.
It is best to leave the other files in the Firefox Profile Folder (Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\) intact, and use Clear Recent History if you want to remove data, to avoid database corruption.

  • How can I manually change the height of the "Type ...

    Hi all
Just got automatically installed the latest 6.22 version of skype few minutes ago and I got a few questions.
First and foremost, how can I MANUALLY change the height of the textbox, where I type the messages. I would like to make it larger, like in the previous versions of skype. I don't want to move my mouse cursor through the entire monitor to reach this tiny textbox.
And second, why you guys are trying constanly to ruin something that is working perfectly ? Going to revert to the previous version until you fix all these nuisances.
    Regards

There is no way to do this, it is designed to be strictly landscape with keyboard, portrait without - not the best thought-out phone on the market, mainly geared towards compulsive texters and e-mailers.
There's no way to know whetherNokia will change this with any future updates, perhaps you should make the recommendation to them directly using the 'contact us' link.

  • How do you manually lower the resolution on a hp photosmart 209a-m printer

I want to print with black ink only and lower the resolution.  How can you manually lower the resolution settings?  Black ink only is no issue but I cannot lower the resolution to below the 600 that it's set for.  Wasting ink!  Planning on getting a non- hp printer due to ink costs.

    Hi,
From applications, using DRAFT printing or FAST printing will definitely reduce the resolution.

  • How do I manually reset the SSID for my e609n?

I have an HP Officejet 6000 Wireless (e609n) that was previously used at another location and with a different network. Now I have moved and I am trying to set it up wirelessly with the new location's router, and the setup keeps hanging. I can set up the USB connection, but not the wireless one. And I can access a Canon printer on the same network wirelessly. I have tried total uninstall/reinstall, intall in Safe Mode w/Networking, changing from USB to wireless, and everything I can think of to no avail. The only other thing I can think of is that the SSID is set to the old system and is preventing me from changing it; however, the limited info I have gleaned from the net has not given me anything workable for options.
Does anybody know how to manually reset the SSID? (Or, programmatically do so through the USB?)
Much thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,
Just treat it as a brand new printer by reset it back using the following steps:

  • How do I manually recreate the site definition (.ste) for an existing site?

My iMac hard drive recently failed and had to be replaced.
Though I had backed up my web site files, I don't have a backup of the site's Site Management (*.ste) file.
Thus, I'm unable to manage this site in Dreamweaver (reinstalled on the new hard drive).
In some forum threads, there are references to "manually recreating the site definition." How do I do this?
    Thanks!

    paintwlight wrote the following:
Does Putting the site to the remote server constitute an Export, whereby a .ste file would have been created during the Put process and, therefore, exist on the remote server?
No. Hit F1 and search for Export.
If so, I assume that if I copy the .ste file currently on the remote server and save it locally (into Library:Application Support:Adobe:Common:9:Sites:Site Prefs), all will be well and Dreamweaver will once again be able to manage the site.
DW can manage the site after you have defined the site as mentioned
earlier. It does not need the .ste files at all. Those are created by
the user via the Export feature and are not used by DW itself.
Gosh, I wish I would have known about the .ste file before my hard drive died. This seems like way too much responsibility to put on one teeny tiny little file -- especially one that's not kept with the rest of the web site files.
The .ste file contains only the paths to your site and the login
information - if you choose to include that information. It does not
contain any of the actual files. DW does not act as a backup or archival
program. You need to keep backups of your entire site (including source
files used to create the site, such as Photoshop/Fireworks layered
images, Flash .fla files, etc...) as well as backups of the .ste files.

  • Cleaning the garbage out of Aperture

I have read many posts about dealing with previews to reduce the size of the Aperture library but few discuss getting rid of images (masters, previews everything) that will never be looked at and serve no purpose.  I mark all garbage images (out of focus, eyes closed ect) with an "x" by hitting the "9" button when asigning a rating on review.  I also mark many images that I will never look at, such as 19 out of the 20 images I took of a lion sleeping or of a bird in flight.  These images are still in my library and probably take up a moderate amount of room.  Does it make any sense to actually delete them and the rebuild the Aperture library so it only contains stuff that might be viewed?
I have a Mac Pro with 1.5 T of drive space so this is not the issue, yet.  Just seems dumb to keep all this garbage year after year.

Deleting something permanently, whether out of Aperture or off the HD is really a personal call. No one here can tell you if it makes 'sense'.
You'll certainly gain (some) disk space how much in relationship to the total library size will vary greatly depending on the file type, if previews are generated for the image and how big the preview is. Deleting obviously 'bad' images (lens cap on, flash failed to fire, etc) makes some 'sense'. Its unlikely these images will ever be any good for anything.
Where it becomes more of a gray area are the rest, images were you don't like the composition or lighting or whatever. There have been any number of time when I've gone into my box of rejected slides (yes I'm of the never throw out anything school) and looked at something that was obviously bad when I first looked at it but now I see something I missed the first time.
Take your case of those 20 Lion images. If you can really say with absolute certainty that 19 of those images don;t deserve to live then delete away but if you're not 100% certain remember disk is cheap.
There are a number of steps you could take to reduce library size, you could delete the previews for these images )previews can eat up a ton of space)  you could export all these image as a new library and store it offline.
One thing you won;t have to do if you delete these images; There is no need to rebuild the library to reclaim the space they took up.
    regards

  • How do I manually arrage the genres

iTunes is organizing my music into genres I am not happy with.  I would like to manually rearrange the music into Genres I believe they belong in. How do I do it?

You can change the Genres by selecting them in the column view. If you want to change multiple selections all at ones, do a Get Info on the selections and make the change there.

  • HT5093 How do I manually set the start position.

The 3d program do not support it (Google Sketchup Free).
Can I open the dae file in another program and set the start position there?

    1) How do I in iBooks Author set the camera position manually.
The documentation says: "be sure to add a camera to your object. This will be used for the default view in your iBooks Author book."
default indicate that there are other options in the iBooks Author program.
If this is not the case:

  • How can I manually adjust the contrast and saturation of my ACD23" display?

I've used Eye-One software with Gretag MacBeth hardware to calibrate both my ACD23" and my MacBookPro 1920x1200 displays. It worked pretty well, but my ACD23" remains much more contrasty and saturated than my MacBookPro. I'm a pro photographer and I need images to match on these two screens.
If there was a way to directly, manually adjust the contrast and saturation of the ACD23", I could fix this myself. Is there? Perhaps with some 3rd party software?

    Thanks for the idea, Fred,
Unfortunately, it does not help with this situation. It changes the contrast of BOTH displays, not just one. And, the displays are already set on "Normal" which is the minimum contrast. What I want to do is lower the contrast of just the ACD23.
Is there an ICC profile editor out there that would let me reduce the contrast and saturation of an ICC profile?

  • How to install lion cleaning the hard drive

I have a MacBook I am currently running Liuon but have previously installed Leopard and Snow Leopard without clearing the hard drive first.
The machine has now three operating systems installed and is running very slow.
It has been suggested that I make a copy of the hard drive, before erasing all the information and loading Lion on a clean hard drive.
    How do i do this?

Install Lion to a blank drive or partition, including one created with the Disk Utility, and then either use the Migration Assistant or copy your files to the new system manually as desired.

  • How do I manually change the genre or track name

I'm new here, so forgive me if this is easily done. I would like to know how to manually change a song's track name, or genre in iTunes. If i feel like a song is more appropriately labeled "pop" vs "rock" can I change the label? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, i'd like to be able to do the same with track names. Thanks.

Right click on the track you want to change. Choose Get Info and then the Info Tab. You can change the song name, artist, genre etc. in there.
You can also update multiple items, however beforehand you sort your tracks into the order you want, say for instance by Artist. Click on the first track you want to change, hold down the shift key and click on the last you want to change and all the tracks in between will be selected. After that it's right click etc as above.
You'll get a lot more on using iTunes here: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/tunes/ Lesson two includes changing track information.

  • How do I manually add the php3 file type to work with Adobe Reader, Safari does this automatically.

downloading php3 files auto jumps to text edit,, cannot tell it to open with "adobereader" , no chance to do so. Tried reading on how I might add the file manually to tell preferences applications to add this file type and open it with adobe reader. Only saw download the file and then firefox will let you open with a program. Can't get there in that text edit opens it.
Safari has no problems with this in that it opens it in adobe reader easily, no work on my part so ????
how do I get firefox to do the same

Do you get the dialog asking whether you want to Open, Save or Cancel? That may indicate the file type Firefox thinks it is getting from the server.
If you can't coax Firefox into revealing the content type indicated by the server, could you post a link to one of the PDFs, assuming no login is required to access one?

  • How do I properly clean the headphone jack?

My headphones started to short out a couple weeks ago and at first I thought it might be the headphone jack itself on my iTouch. Even though I figured out it was the headphones, I decided it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to clean out the headphone jack itself. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to do this properly? I don't know if a q-tip is safe but I also don't think it will fit...
Any knowledge on this would be great!

A regular 3.5 jack to jack won't cut it. You need something like this DIY iRig or a dedicated product.
