How can I manually manage the music on my ipod with the new itunes?  I used to be able to do it without any issues, but now I am unable to find how to do it.  Thanks!

    From iTunes' help:

  • I want to manually manage my music on my iPhone, but iTunes 11 won't let me!!! Anyone have suggestions? I just want to be able to delete songs on my iPhone from my computer!!!

Any help would be great. I have checked the Manually Manage Music, but when I click on the music to see what is on my iPhone the only option it gives me is to sync it and I don't want to sync it, I can't hold that much music on my phone. I HATE HATE HATE this new stupid itunes and I wish they would get rid of it!!!

Of course you can sync music to the device.
Connect the device to the computer.
    Select the Music tab.
Select the content desired to be synced.
    Sync.
This is covered in the User's Guide, it might be a good idea for you to read it.

  • I have over 16,000 songs in my iTunes library so I manually manage the music on all my devices. I bought a new iPod to replace an older one. I'd like to transfer all 900 songs to my new device without having to handpick each song. Is there a way to do it?

No. I have quite a few more 16,000, so I don't manually manage. Making playlists for each device makes things much easier to organize. You can create regular lists of essential tracks and smart playlists to automatically catch new content, top rated, most played etc. If you'd done it this way all along configuring a new or restored device would be the work of moments.

  • When I view the music on my iPhone in iTunes, how do I view this by album, rather than in a long list of songs?

When I view the music on my iPhone in iTunes, how do I view this by album, rather than in a long list of songs?  When I view the music stored on my iMac, I get a choice to view by Songs, Artists, Albums, Composers, etc.  But I don't get any choice with the music on my iPhone.
Its really hard to manage the music on my iPhone.  I want to quickly remove albums and add new ones.
Is there a solution that I haven't seen?

Create a playlist, add/delete albums and sync this playlist.
You don't need to manually manage the iPhone music to do this.

  • How can I completely delete the music on my iPhone 5s?

For some reason I have not been able to manage the music on my iPhone 5s (running iOS 8.3). Even when I turn off iTunes Match and turn it back on, songs (and more importantly artists) that I have deleted from my desktop (iMac running OS X 10.10.3) and iCloud come back. I have done a complete restart on my phone and tried to manually manage what is on my phone in iTunes but I still can't delete the songs/artists. The reason for doing this in the first place was to make more room on my phone. A recent trip left me needing more storage to take more pictures. As there were a lot of songs and artists on my phone that I really haven't listened to in a long time I decided that was a good option. Now when I get home from my trip and sync my phone on my desktop everything just goes back to the way it was. I attempted to remove the items in iTunes and still no change. I really can't tell if it's a problem with iTunes, my phone or my desktop. But when I deleted an artist and sent it to the trash and it still came back then I got a little scared and knew I needed some help. Basically at this point I would just like to delete all the music on my phone and make a fresh start. Thanks to everyone who reads this and can offer some guidance.
    P.S.: I'm using iTunes version 12.1.2.27.

There are a few ways to do this!
Is your laptop the "new iTunes" linked to the iPhone4?
    Lets presume so.
this only works with non-DRM files/ your personal music files.
    Go to your desktop.
    1. You need to find the iTunes Media folder that holds your music.
Method A : Using Spotlight : type "iTunes media"
    Open this folder.
    See "music" folder.
Double click on this and it will have all your old music.
Copy this folder onto a Flashdrive/external drive. (call the folder "Old Music")
Then disconnect the flashdrive from your desktop and take it over to your laptop.
Open the Finder and find your flashdrive with the Old Music folder.
OPen that folder (It should have all your old music!)
Selct all and drag and drop this onto iTunes!!
    Sync your iPhone!
Method B to find the Media file with your old music.
    Click Finder.
Under places you should have your user name.
    Click on this
You should then have a series of folders : Applications/Desktop etc.
One of these will be Music.
Click or dble click! on this. Find iTunes. Double click again.
Find a folder called Music...and then follow steps above to copy to a flashdrive....
Please note if you have copyright files in your Old iTunes, you can use a program like senuti or podworks to rip your stuff to a folder and then transfer to your "new music"....a bit more confusing!
Good luck...Its your music....you should be able to do what you want with it!!!

  • How do I sync the music from my iPhone to iTunes on my mac?

I got a new macbook and I can't sync the music from my iPhone to iTunes.. How do i do that?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
The sync is one way - computer iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old comptuer, to your new one.

  • How do I erase all the music off my iphone?

How do I erase all the music off my iphone? The album artwork that's in my phone, doesn't match what's in my itunes. I've synced, but it still is all screwed up.

in itunes - select your device name - click music tab - select sync music - select selected playlists, albumns, artists, - just click one song or artist or album not playlist.  hit apply
no see if ok if so re sync what you want/
    if not
erase all content and start anew
    Peace, Clyde

  • Why can't I copy and paste the music from my iPhone on iTunes 11 to a folder in my Music Library?

Why can't I copy and paste the music from my iPhone on iTunes 11 to a folder in my Music Library? I want to have a copy of the music on iTunes so when I update to a newer version of iOS I don't lose my music. And no I didn't buy this music off iTunes and neither will I use iTunes Match.

There has never been a function to copy anything from an iPhone and paste it to a computer.
All of your media should be in iTunes already.
If it is not and was purchased from iTunes, right click on the device and select Transfer Purchases.
If the media is not in iTunes and was not purchased from iTunes, how did you get it on the device in the first place?

  • HT1206 I buy apps in my iPhone using different Apple IDs. Which Apple ID should I use to authorize the computer when synchronizing iPhone with iTunes?

I buy apps in my iPhone using different Apple ID. Which Apple ID should I use to authorize the computer when sync iPhone with iTunes?

    Hi again,
After a little further research, it appears that you would need to create separate iTunes libraries in order to be able to continue to purchase and download previously purchased items on the same computer, for two different Apple IDs. Sorry - but my husband and I have had the library we sync with authorized for so long, that we have not run into this issue, but it appears that you will get an warning when you try to authorize the second ID on the same computer, indicating that another ID is already associated with it.
So, you will probably have to set up separate iTunes libraries for each ID:

Sorry for any confusion - hope this helps!

  • HT1473 how do i sinc all the music that is on my itunes without deleting what is already on the phone even if its a different phone?

i want to add my itunes music onto multiple devices without deleting the things on those phones . how do i do that? also how do i add songs from different phones onto my itunes? please help ive been looking everywhere for the answer and so far havent got any.

You can manually manage the contents between your devices and your computer. When you manage the transfer of contents between them, you can set the device not to automatically sync thus could make sure not automatically delete the contents that are in your iOS devices and replace them with the music you have in your itunes.
The more detailed instructions on how to configure your devices for manualy management can be found in the article that follows:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod

I hope this works for you. Happy New Year!

  • How can I remove all the music from my iPhone?

I want to remove all the music from my iPhone 5 (Current iOS) and then load a completely new set of songs from my Mac (Current OS).
How do I do that ?
Even when I define a specific new playlist and tell it to apply only that it still does not remove the unwanted songs.
    Thanks !

I feel I've explained plenty what you must do but you aren't getting it.
All music on your old iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Transfer the music from your iTunes library on your computer to your new iPhone in the same way it was transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone - via the iTunes sync/transfer process.
Since you prefer the manual way, you must manually drag and drop the same 377 songs from your iTunes library to your new iPhone - in the same way the 377 songs were manually transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone.
Or you can sync which provides more options overall. Create an iTunes playlist for the 377 songs. Select Sync Music under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and choose selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Select the iTunes playlist below that includes the 377 songs followed by a sync.

  • How can I delete all the music from my iPhone and reinstall it?

I am trying to delete all the music from my iPhone 5 and reinstall it.  The names of some of the albums and the artists did not import correctly from my CDs.  I went back into iTunes and made corrections, synced my phone and no changes were made to the music on my phone.  And two of the albums (I only have albums, not individual songs) are duplicated on the phone, though they are not in my iTunes library.
I have gone into iTunes, selected the device at the top right corner, selected all the music that showed up in the window - gone to the Edit menu, selected "all" and then "delete."  The list of tracks disappears from the device list.  I then synced the phone again, and the albums are still on the phone.  What am I missing, please?  I've even shut the phone down and restarted it, synced it again, but nothing changes.
    Help, please?

Follow the instructions here or here; the first set of instructions may require a power source other than a computer's USB port, so you should have one of these before proceeding. Your iPod is a fourth generation model.

  • How do I transfer all my music FROM my iphone TO iTunes

how do I transfer all my music FROM my iphone TO iTunes

    In iTunes, File>Transfer Purchases.
Anything not purchased from the iTunes store can not be transferred from the phone to a computer without purchasing 3rd party software to do so. It is not a backup device or data transfer device.
