How do I manually number pages?

I need my first two pages to be numbered ii, and iii, and from then on 1, 2, 3, etc.

Insert a section break at the end of the second page.
On either of the first two pages, click into the Header or Footer (whichever you want the i and ii to appear), then go Insert > Page number.
Right click (or control-click) on the page number to open the contextual menu below:
Choose the lower case Roman style highlighted in the menu image.
Scroll to and click on the third page.
Open the Inspector, choose the Layout inspector, then click the Section button.
The "Continue from previous section" button will be highlighted. Click the" Start at" button below it, then enter 1 in the box. The Page number in the Hearder or Footer will change to "i".
Right click or control click on the page number to again open the contextual menu. This time, choose the first item, "1, 2, 3"
Done.

How can I remove the page number from the first page of the document that is the cover page?

If you open the Pages panel, (Window>Pages) you will see thumbnails of your master pages and your document pages. In new documents, there is usually a master called A-Master and one called None. If you drag the thumbnail of the None master onto the thumbnail of a document page, it will apply that master to that page. Presumably, you have made your page numbers on A-Master, so this will usually do the trick. If you have elements on A-Master that you need on the first page, but just not the page number, you can duplicate A-Master (which, by default will give you B-Master, but you can change the names if you like) and remove the page number on the duplicate and apply that to the document page.
It might also be worth noting that you can apply master pages in the fly-out of the Pages panel. Go to the fly-out triangle and go down to Apply Master to Pages…, then select a master to apply and the range of pages (1-8 will give you all 8, 1, 3, 5, 7 will be the odds, 1-3, 4, 6-8 if you want continuous ranges and individual pages).

How to scale down number of pages in ps files

I am having ps files that are havings 4 to 8 pages per file. Each page may contain just 5-6 lines and therefore though the content in total is not too much but there is unnecessay paper wastage.
Is it possible to make some changes in code inside ps files throgh notepad so that the content may be restricted to lesser number of pages. I am having programing skill in vfp,need guidance that what changes i need to do in ps script and where.

Unfortunately, we do not have any VIs in LabVIEW that can figure out the number of pages of a standard report. However, with the use of ActiveX calls you can achieve this task. Here are a couple of discussion forums which discuss this:

I assume this is Microsoft Word, and you want the first six pages to have no footer, subsequent pages to have a footer showing the page number.
1. Insert a section break after the first six pages.
2. Insert page numbers. This will add a footer with page numbers to both sections.
3. Unlink the section 2 footer from the section 1 footer. [Click in the footer area, uncheck Link to Previous in the Header and Footer toolbar.]
4. Delete the page number from the section 1 footer.
Your document will now show page numbering on all pages starting with section 2.

How to limit the number of TCP connections beeing used concurrently while a page is beeing loaded?

We manufacture industrial small-footprint control modules with embedded web server. The resources of these modules are very limited, especially in RAM. We have problem, that FF opens 15 parallel TCP connections while loading a web page (main html page first, then all icons simultaneously). We can not handle such behavior because of lack of RAM memory needed for TCP buffers.
Question is how to limit the number of concurrent TCP connections the browser will use? We need to do it somehow directly from the page, we can not push our customers to change the general settings of their browsers (they would not understand such things anyway).
Do anyone have any suggestion?

Sorry, one other thought. Many web designers now combine all icons into a single image and use CSS to clip the image so that only the desired portion is displayed. This minimizes the number of required connections and increases the probability that the image can be retrieved from cache.

stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work.

Does anyone know how to lime the number of pages a PDF can print? For example, if a PDF has 100 pages, it only allow the user to print no more than 100 pages.
Any software can achieve this ?

But once I purchased a ebook, which required be opened with Adobe digital edition, the ebook only allow to print 57 pages out of 300+ pages total.
Are there any way to convert a PDF to a ebook and encrypted by the printing limits?
