How do I transfer data from one iPhone to another?

If your old device is an Apple using iOS 5 or later, and you have an iCloud account, you can transfer all your saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings to your new iPhone.
    Here's how...
Connect your old Apple device to WiFi and to a power source.
Back it up to iCloud by going to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and toggling iCloud Backup on. The time it takes to ba ckup depends on how much data you have and on the speed of your internet connection.
iCloud backs up your device once a day. If it needs backing up before you transfer to your new iPhone 5, tap Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Do not start transferring before the backup is finished.
Turn on your new iPhone and complete the setup by selecting your language and country, and choose whether to enable Location Services. When prompted, choose your WiFi network.
When prompted to set up, choose Restore from iCloud Backup, tap Next, and enter your Apple ID and password.
Select the backup of your old device and tap Restore. Wait until the device has finished restoring from the backup.
When the restore process is complete, your iPhone will restart and be ready to use.
Connect your iPhone 5 to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on). You can choose the data that are synced by clicking the syncing tabs in iTunes.

How can I migrate data from an old MBA to a new one without having access to the screen of the old one? The screen of the old MBA is damaged !

If your "older" MBA has a Thunderbolt port then it isn't that old. See Target Disk Mode about how it's used. Note that without a monitor you won't be able to tell from the screen when it has fully started, and if it succeeded in starting in TDM. If it did, then the hard drive should appear on the Desktop of your new computer. You can then access it to transfer your files. You can even use Migration Assistant or any backup utility to transfer data. Just don't try to transfer system files.

You can use iCloud or you can Restore From Back Up using iTunes. Your iPhone 4 data can now be placed in iCloud or you can Sync your iPhone 4 to iTunes. Once Sync is in iTunes, connect iPhone 5 to iTunes if it does not ask if you want to Restore from Back Up, right click PC or Control click Mac the iPhone 5 name in left column of iTunes. In the drop down menu select Restore From Back Up, in the menu in the center of iTunes select the back up you want on your iPhone 5.

  • How to only migrate data from SQL Server 2008 to Oracle 11?

According to our requirement, We need to only migrate data from a SQL Server database to an existed
    Oracle database user.
    1) I tried to do it with SQL Developer 3.0.04 Migration Wizard, But find an issue.
    My SQL Server database name is SCDS41P2, and my Oracle database user name is CDS41P2;
When I used SQL Developer to do offline move data by Migration Wizard, I found all oracle user
name in movedata files which gotten by run Migration Wizard
is dbo_SCDS41P2. If the Oracle user name is not the same as my existed Oracle user name,
the data can't be moved to my existed Oracle user when I run oracle_ctl.bat in command line window.
So I had to modify the Oracle user name in all movedata files, but it's difficult to modify them because there are many tables in
databases. So could you please tell me how to get the movedata files which the oracle user name in them is my
    expected Oracle user name?
    2) I also tried to use the 'copy to Oracle' function to copy the SQL Server database tables data
to the existed Oracle database user. When clicked 'copy to Oracle', I selected 'Include Data' and 'Replace' option
But I found some tables can't be copied, the error info is as below:
Table SPSSCMOR_CONTROLTABLE Failed. Message: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
Could you please tell me how to deal with this kind of error?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Thanks for you replying. But the 'copy to oracle' function still can't be work well. I will give some info about the table. I also search 'SPSSCMOR_CONTROLTABLE' in the target schema, and only find one object. So why say 'name is already used by an existing object'? Could you please give me some advice? Thanks!

  • How can I migrate data from SQL Server 6,5 to Oracle 8?

We have a web site based on Microsoft SQL Server 6.5.Now we plan
to migrate the database to Oracle 8.
We have redesigned the tables structure and created tables under

We've exported data from SQL Server to text files.
How can we import data from files and restore to Oracle tables.
Is there a solution which let us to import data for particular

  • How do I migrate data from my 2003 iMac to my mid-2011 iMac?

    Hi All,
I have a 2003 iMac and I want to migrate the iTunes, iPhoto, etc DBs to my new mid-2011 iMac.  The 2003 iMac is the last one before they switched to the intel chip.  It's Mac OS is version 10.5.4.  That's as late as I can get it as they quit supporting the old chip after that.
I found a vid on mac-to-mac file migration online.  It said to connect the two computers via firewire cable (done), start the new computer (done), start the old computer while holding down the T-key (done), and the old computer's hard drive will show up on the new computer finder window (did happen).  Then it says to start Migration Assistant on the new computer (done), and follow directions.  That's where I run into a problem.  The Migration Assistant says "Looking for other computers" and it never finds the old iMac even though the old iMac's hard drive is visible in the new iMac's finder window.  Note that I can click down through directories on the old iMac in the new iMac's finder window.
Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks much!

Your old machine may too old for Migration Assistant to work. In that case your best bet is to set up the old machine in Target Disk Mode and then drag and drop your files to the new machine. You should only migrate data files, if you have applications on the old machine these should be manually installed on the new machine. If any of the old machine's apps are PPC (Power PC) based these will not run in Lion and will need to be upgraded or replaced prior to installing on the new machine. You can check what apps are PPC based by opening System Profiler (Applications - Utilities - System Profiler), click Applications on the left and then look in the Kind column. Applications that will run in Lion OK are Intel & Universal apps.

  • How best to migrate data to retina macbook

until the thunderbolt firewire adapter is available, what is the best method to migrate data to a new retina macbook?

I have to agree with Kappy.  I've used Carbon Copy Cloner for every Mac migration I've done for the past several years.  It's as close to a flawless piece of software as you'll ever find.  Even though I use (and am a fan of) Time Machine using the Time Capsule functionality of a QNAP RAID NAS via WiFi, I also use CCC to make frequent clones of my two drive partitions.  I typically use two partitions (3 now with Apple's recovery partition) – an OS boot partition and a data partition.  For security and speed-of-recovery, the home directory for my primary user account lives on the data partition.   While Time Machine does it's delta-based sparse bundle backup, I routinely do exact clones of each drive partition onto a like-partitioned external Go-flex Firewire drive.  When my MacBook Pro was stolen last year, I restored from the CCC backup which was about three weeks old and then did a Time Machine restore on top of it.  Since I was out of town when the computer was stolen, the Time Machine backup was current as of three days earlier (when I was home and TM ran automatically over Wifi).  Considering they stole a new 17" MBP with a 500GB SSD, losing only three days of data was a godsend.
I've ordered a MBP Retina.  When it arrives, I'll migrate to it the same way, using CCC.  The cool thing about the Seagate GoFlex system, by the way, is that I can switch a drive from Firewire 800 to USB 3 by swapping a $19 adapter.

  • How do I move data from my iphone to a new iMac?

I just purchased a new iMac.
I would like to move all data (music, apps, etc.) from my iPhone to the new iMac - how do I do that?
Also, I have an old iMac that is no longer working but was one of the 5 computers that I had authorized for sharing music.  Is there a way to de-authorize that computer, even if it does not boot, to 'reclaim' a sharing computer?

  • How can I migrate data from old macs second harddrive in time machine backup to my new mac?

    Hi,
I have a little problem migrating all my data from my old Macbook to my new Macbook. I had two harddisk installed in my Macbook and did make a backup to a USB Disk. It seems that both harddisk are included in the backup. I can see them in Time Machine.
Now I want to restore my data to the new Macbook Retina. Unfortunately the Migration Assistant only shows the system disk, but not the data disk.
How can I access the data disk in the backup to restore the data to some directory on the new Macbook? The data is mostly the iTunes Library of my old Macbook.
    Regards

If the migration assistant doesn't work and you have no backup then you will have to take another path that involves a little more manual work. Anyway in your situation a fresh start seems like a good idea. So set up your new Mac with the same username and afterwards copy your user folder from the old to the new either using your ethernet connection or an external USB drive. This will also bring your user's Library folder along and retain most of your settings at least as far as they are applicable in Mavericks.
