How do I minimize the window in itunes 11 to the size it used to be?
1. I've just installed the iTunes 11.0 update and the playlist window takes up way too much room on my desktop. I used to be able to click the green button in the upper left corner and it would shrink to a tiny size that let me control the volume, "pause," etc. and I could tuck it away in a corner of my desktop. Now when I click the green button to minimize it, it still takes up 25% of my screen and I can't get it any smaller. Does anyone know how to get it back the way it was?
2. Also, I don't like the new spacing in list view--used to be a lot more compact and you didn't have to take up the entire screen with the window to see the songs in the playlist. Any way to get it looking the way it did in the last version? Thanks for any help out there!

In iTunes on your PC go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced
This will tell you the location of your iTunes Media Folder on your PC.
Now go to that location using Windows Explorer and click on the Music folder within it. All your music should be found there -

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Are you saying your iTunes doesn not have your songs? If not, where would they be? If on an older iphone, then they should have gotten there via itunes and itunes has them.

I am trying to update ipod touch from ios 4.3.2 to ios 6.1.3. I have it connected to my computer, and the summary in itunes indicates the update is available. However, when I click "update", it opens Windows Explorer and waits for a file name to open.
I am not at that computer now, but I did check via windows update & with the check updates menu choice in the itunes program - neither indicated a newer version of itunes is available. (it is a vista computer).
The itunes software on the computer displays my ipod & the current ios (4.3.2), and indicates a newer ios is available (6.1.3). When I choose "update", I am taken to Windows Exploer and prompted to choose a file to open. it is as if the "update" button has the incorrect code attached to it.
The ipod is working, but there are several app I would like to install, but I can't with the current ooperating system. -
I am trying to set up my new iPad 2 and to begin I installed iTunes on my laptop and connected the iPad to the USB port. Neither Windows or iTunes recognizes the device. I did everything this site told me to try and still no luck. Help!
You will not be able to see what version you are running until the iPad is activated. It will be in Settings>General>About >Version when you can get to the settings app.
The slider bar that you are describing sounds like the screen lock side switch and that has no bearing on setting up the iPad or connecting to WiFi.
Why don't you try rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again and see if the iPad will recognize and join the network. -

How do I resize the window of pages in the new version? It takes up most of my desktop. I would like to make it tall and narrow, which was possible in the old pages, but I cannot seem to do it in the new version.
I agree it is a very bad and wasteful design especially for users on small laptop screens.
You can drag it to whatever shape you want from the bottom left corner.
Click on the paintbrush to make the Format side panel disappear. However you will need to use that side panel for most formatting.

You will need an app (or apps) on your iPad that is capable of reading the documents, as they will be saved with the app - if you don't have such an app then there is nothing to transfer them to or to read/access them.
One method of transferring them is toconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, select it's app tab, and then scroll to the bottom of it - you should the apps That you've got that are capable of file-sharing (if you've got any). Selecting/high-lighting one of them should then allow you to add files to it via the box to the right of it.
An alternative way to get the documents onto your iPad is if the app that you want to transfer them to has a wifi setting, which will then allow you to transfer the documents wirelessly. You can also send the documents to yourself as attachments and then use Mail's 'open in' facility to copy them into your chosen app.

It sounds like you are trying to create a new icloud account, not just logging into an existing account. When you type in your Apple ID and get that error, it's because you are trying to create an account using the same ID that is already being used in another account.
Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen. If you are logged in, press the Delete button, then try logging in with the existing ID.
As for pics, the most secure way is to connect ipod to PC with USB and look at the Photos tab for your device in iTunes. Using Photo Stream is another way, but it doesn't always work, depending on conditions. -
