How do I modify text in a .jpg file?

I just bought Creative Cloud 6. I'm studying Adobe TV to learn Photoshop. Years ago a friend created a customized .jpg file that I've used for my letterhead. I want to use it now as my website header. The text in the file needs to be modified and my friend is not available to help.

She says she needs the PSD file otherwise she has to start from scratch. Is there such a thing as a PSD file? Here's the image.
Changes Needed add "s" to Citizens
Eliminate Quote
Add "Protecting Liberty and Freedom"
I'm hoping layers will allow me to do what I need. From your response and what I'm studying it appears that if the layers were merged, my desired changes will be much more difficult if not impossible to achieve. Additional comments would be appreciated if you have them. Thank You

I would try Acrobat out, you can't do that in Adobe Reader.

How do I keep text in a converted file??

I want to convert a PDF file that I received as an email attachement. Can I convert it without saving it first. It is the type that will let you save a blank form but not the info typed in and I don't want to retype the entire form.

When I try to save it only the form is saved not the text that was typed in. I want to save the info so I don't have to retype it.Bob

Hi, Bob.Yes, CreatePDF will allow you to save a PDF file as a Word file, so you can then type and add text to that Word file. If you received it as an email attachment, it will be easiest to: 1) save it to your computer's desktop, 2) upload it to the CreatePDF service.Please let us know if you have additional questions or issues.Regards,Dave

You can't. The commandline parameters for Acrobat and Adobe Reader do not allow any type of commands to be run.

How do I remove the annoying "halo" that is around text in a jpg file?

I was given a jpg file to work with. However, the text has a "halo" around it. I cannot seem to get rid of it. Any suggestions. I am using CS6.

It may help if you state how you are supposed to work with it.
Often that would mean recreate by redrawing/retyping as vector artwork, in which case the raster image would only serve as a template/sketch to use as an underlying (locked) basis, and a halo more or less would make little difference.

I am suddenly having a problem when trying to open a .tif file in Adobe bridge. The picture opens in firefox. It never did this before. How do I get my .tif and .jpg files to open in bridge?

I open Photoshop cs5 version of bridge. Go to a folder that contains photos in .tif, ljpg, etc. file types. When I click on a .tif or .jpg file that I want to open in the raw window of bridge (which it has done for the past year) in opens instead in firefox. How do I stop this from happening????

If at all possible, you don't. You get the original (pre-PDF file), you edit that.
Adobe Acrobat has some very limited facilities which sometimes allow very simple text edits to PDF (e.g. change a phone number).

1) I will open the pic1 and then make duplicate the whole Layer by : Edit->Transform->Flip Horizontal, add a Layer Mask (Is this correct?)
2) And then I open the pic2 (I'm not sure what to do now after opening the pic2 - rectangle picture, do I have to apply the clipping mask here?)

Basic question on how to change menu text in this FLA file

I am kind of new to Flash and I am just a bit stuck on where

Thanks for getting back to me. I've been really having a
problem with this flash header. Being new to some of these programs
doesn't help much. It's been a learning curve for me. I used a
program called Flash Decompiler Trillix to convert the swf to fla.
and converting the symbols as text so that I could edit them. It
turned out that the text that came up was a jumble of letters which
I had to decifer. I was finally able to change the all the text to
what they were supposed to be. After I exported it back into the
website in Dreamweaver the links on the drop down menus didn't
work.
It's as if the layers aren't connected in some way. The main
links work but I can't access the drop down part which also contain
links as well. I hope you can help me with this.

I tried syncing the photos on my pc to my ipod but it doesnt work.
From itunes, I go to "sync photos from", and hit "choose folder", then I go to a folder on my pc that has many jpg files. When I click on the folder it says "No items match your search". itunes isn't recognizing the jpg files on my pc.
Any ideas?
