How do I move a home video to movies

I ripped some dvd's and they transfered to Home Video instead of Movie.  When I sync my class ipod does not have a Home Video selection, so the movies does not show.  This Home Video is new to me. HELP

See:
iTunes: Frequently asked questions about viewing and syncing videos
iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod
I use the free HandBrake converter program.

  • How can I send a home video via a text message?

    Hello,
I had a video that I created on my camera and then transferred to my PC. Then I added it to iTunes Version 11. Then I converted it in iTunes from "Home Video" to "Movie". On my iPhone 4 (iOS7), I go to messages, hit camera icon and the video isn't there in my videos section. How can I move the video into the "Videos" section so that I can send this video via text message?
    Thanks!
    Jeff

    Hello Chris Miller,
Of course I did. I certainly would not have suggested doing something I haven't tried to do myself. Would You? I wouldn't unless we are experimenting with something, but this is not the case here.
I also mentioned to lexlizandtay to watch the filesize.
Many ISP's have a 10 MB limit on sending or receiving emails.
I also said in my above post "Works for Me"......
I have a 3.8 MB Podcast that was downloaded straight from Apple. I can send this without any problems the way I mentioned above.
I also have other podcasts that I made myself using GarageBand or Quicktime that work just fine.
    Give it a try.

  • How do i play a home video in iTunes using apple tv

I have imported an mp4 into iTunes and it appears in the home video section under movies.  I cannot seem to find it on my Apple TV though.
To problem solve, I first created a new version of the video by going to file > create new version > create version for apple tv
The new version appeared next to the original, but still will not appear using my apple tv. I am trying to play this video on my home tv, but not having any luck.
    Suggestions?

You would be accessing the Computers icon - Movies - Home Movies.
If it doesn't appear, make sure it is compatible (see below)
H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High or Main Profile level 4.0 or lower, Baseline profile level 3.0 or lower with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

  • How do I transfer my home videos and pictures from my iPad back to my desktop?

My desktop hardrive recently crashed. The only copies I have of my photos and home movies are on my iPad. I was able to transfer my music from my iPad to my new desktop but not my photos and home videos. Please help. Thanks

There are third-party apps such as Simple Transfer which can transfer photos and videos from your iPad to your computer via your wifi network.  But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer. A backup would have been able to copy back the original non-'optimised' versions

  • How to extract audio from home video

    Hello all,
I am trying to compile an iMovie and I imported a home video shot with my Sony DSC T7 and when iMovie imports it. There is no audio!??! Is there a way for me to use the power of my Mac OS X and extract the audio before I import and then bring both into iMovie seperatly? Or is there a way to bring it into iMovie with sound? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks,
    Lorne17

iMovie should import the audio/video together. Maybe you should re-post your question in the iMovie forum. It's possible that someone there had the same problem and knows the solution.

  • How do I select a home video for airdrop transfer?

Airdrop works great for photos and videos in Camera Roll - I want to use airdrop to transfer a video in Home Videos

The tutorial linked to by Brancam is a good one for learning to use AirDrop. But I don't see a share icon in the videos app. Since that is the case you cannot share videos in the videos app via AirDrop.
If those are personal videos that you added to your iPad by syncing with your computer, use your computer to transfer the videos to your friends computer or send the videos to them via email.

  • HT201317 How do I stream my home videos from within photos from I phone to I pad

I have managed to stream the photos but the videos only show on the iPad as a photo and I cannot play the video clip.

If you mean photo stream, photo stream only syncs photos, not videos.  If you want to transfer a video to your iPad, you can either use an app like PhotoSync to wirelessly transfer it, use an app like Video Stream for iCloud, or import it to your iTunes library and sync it to your iPad.

  • IPad Video app mixes Movies and Home Video Kinds

In iTunes I have videos that are of 'Video Kind' Movie and also 'Video Kind' Home Video.  These show up nicely on the AppleTV, segregated according to their "Kind".  On my iPad Air, however, the Video app mixes them all together under its heading of "Movies" when I use Home Sharing to access my iTunes Library from the iPad.
How can I get my Home Videos to be distinguished from my Movies on the iPad?
(And, is there any way to have the title show up on the thumbnail page?  In combination I have thousands of shows and it's hard to tell what's what!)

    Hello Brian,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an issue playing iTunes Store content on your iPad Air, and you’ve already tried restarting the device and syncing the movies a second time. If you haven’t already, try backing up and restoring the device as shown in the article linked below.

  • How do you import a video from Home Videos into Keynote?

Some one cleverly (not) decided that imported videos now must go in "Home Videos" but Keynote cannot import from there? How do you import a "Home Video" into Keynote?

This means that your file extension is set to playback on Windows Media Player thats all.
Change your folder settings in Windows Explorer, go to Folder Options, View tab, and uncheck hide extensions for known media types.
Then look at your filename and it should read "video name.mp4" or .m4v or .mov, these are the only file types that will play back on the 5G ipod.

I don't have a mac or pc, just the new ipad.  I'm planning to buy a camera card reader adapter so I can load my photos and videos directly from my camera card to my ipad.  But then how do I organize my home videos and photos in my ipad into albums?
I saw the photo folder app does essentially what I want but does it treat videos the same as photos?  I didn't see anything about it being able to organize videos.
