Thank you for the prompt reply, Nicolas.
This post of mine might be too complex for the Java -> Java Essentials -> New to Java forum:
packages and JAR files
Perhaps it would be better placed in the Java -> Development Tools -> General Questions forum (?):
General Java Development Tools Questions
Is there a better forum?I have not knowledge on this area, I cannot say. It's up to you to decide and I can move it, or wait for an other moderator who know better this domain.

How do I move my iPhoto library to a different disk partition?

Drag it to a partition or disk image formatted as Mac OS Extended. If you want that copy to be an active iPhoto library and not a backup, also launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and point it to the new location.

  • How do I move my iMovie libarary to a different mac?

    Hi,
I have done some video editing on my work computer (Macbook pro  ~Mid 2011), but I want to move everything that I've done to my home computer (iMac ~Mid 2007).
If possible, I want to migrate everything as if I had done all the video editing on my home computer b/c I want a single place where all my imovie work resides.  All of the posts I've seen relate to how you can move the back-end files to an external drive (i.e. move the files to free up storage space but still access them from the same instance of iMovie), but what I'm looking for is to be able to open them with an entirely new instance of imovie (I don't care if I can no longer edit them from my work computer.
Copied my entire iMovie Events and iMovie Projects folders to my home machine, but imovie on that machine doesn't seem to be able to find the files.
I'm running Mavericks on both....after typing all this I just realized my work machine has iMovie '11 and my home computer (the one I'm trying to move to) has iMovie '09.  Does this have something to do with iMovie '09 not being able to read the files from iMovie '11?
If I had iMovie '11 or later on my home computer would I be able to do this the way I'm trying to do it?

  • I have multpulpe Firefox profiles on one windows user account, how do I move a bookmark folder to a different Firefox profile on the same windows user account?

''locking this thread as duplicate, please continue at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1015870 /questions/1015870]''
I'm trying to organize my different Firefox profiles like into profiles such as, Jeep Stuff, Shopping, things to build, computers, ect. So how can I move a bookmark folder to an other Firefox profile bookmark bar. Or how can I move all my bookmarks into one area to organize them and then place them into the different Firefox profiles?

What happens if you rename the iPhone "Wife" when it shows up as "Hubby", then choose a different set of apps/playlists to sync with? iTunes is supposed to be able to manage multiple devices, each with their own selection of content. Perhaps you "restored" "Wife" with a backup from "Hubby" when you first set things up which is now causing confusion.
To create a new library press and hold down the shift key as you click the icon to start iTunes and keep holding shift until asked to choose or create a library. You need to use the same technique to switch back.

  • How do i move my itunes library to a different drive

i underestimated the space i needed for my itunes library. at the time, i thought 75gb is more than enought for my 60gb ipod, then the videos and movies came along. although i cannot put them on my 4th gen ipod, but i did downloaded a bunch of free tv shows and video podcasts.
i thought i was simply gonna delete some already-viewed files as i push the limit, but then the recycle bin on my ipod specific drive screwed up. i can no longer delete anything off that drive. since the partition i had earlier was kind small for my ipod drive, i think i want to reformat the drive to a different partition.
of course, i need to move my itunes library first. can someone please teach me how to move my itunes library to a different drive? thank you very much.

When I added a second drive internal drive I used this guide: Moving your iTunes Music Folder

  • How can I move my itunes purchases to a different computer?

How can I move all of my itune purchases on my old computer to my new computer?

    A third point of view...
Moving your iTunes library from one computer to another...
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you have to resort to pulling data back from a device see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • How do you move a user account to a different drive?

I recently bought a Mac Pro and installed a second hard drive. The plan is to have the boot drive contain the Opperating system and priogram files and have all user accounts and documents on the second drive.
How do I move my user account (which is currently on the boot drive) to my secondary drive?

This used to be done using NetInfo Manager, but that's not part of Leopard. I assume you're running Leopard since you've just bought the Mac Pro.
In Leopard, location of home directory is controlled by System Preferences -> Accounts. Select the user in the list and control-click to bring up "Advanced Options..."
Choose the directory on your second drive which corresponds to the one in "Users" that you copied. Don't change any of the other things.
By the way, it's always a good idea to have an extra admin account with home directory on the boot drive. That way, if something goes wrong with your second drive, you can still log in. As the admin, you can correct problems with your "primary" or "main" account.

  • How do you move your itunes to a whole different computer?

What that question is up there, is the question that I am asking.

Probably the most straightforward way to get iTunes onto your second computer is to network it with the first one and copy your iTunes folder across. Start by consolidating your library. When you consolidate, any songs in the iTunes Library that are not in the iTunes Music Folder are copied to the Music Folder and the Library is updated to point to those new files. Files already in the iTunes Music Folder have no changes made to them: Copying all your iTunes files to one location - Windows
Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?
When you copy the iTunes folder make sure you put it into the same location on the new computer. This has to be the exact same place, on a PC this is \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\ (or C:\Username\Music\ in Vista). Everything has to be exactly the same on the new computer including the Windows user account name. When you open iTunes on the new computer it will be the same as on the original one Songs, Playlists, Play Counts, Ratings etc. You should also use the same version of iTunes on both computers.
You can also use this method with an external hard drive, you drag the folder from the first computer to the external drive and then from the drive to the second computer.
If you have an iPod it can be used as an external drive and you can move the iTunes folder onto it: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
If you have any iTunes purchases in your library don't forget that you'll need to authorise your new computer to play them. Also if you are disposing of the old one remember to deauthorise it so you don't use up one of your allowances: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • How do i move my ipod library to a different computer?

I Recieved a laptop for christmas and i wish to move my ipod library to this computer. can somebody please help me?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You can follow the instructions here...
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
Or use something like YamiPod to move music directly from iPod to computer.
If most of your music is purchased (or all of it), you can use iTunes to transfer that purchased music to your new computer (iTunes will ask you).
Don't let iTunes erase what is on your iPod until all of the music in your iTunes library works (and test it without your iPod connected).

  • HT4859 How do I move my icloud storage to a different pc?

I set up my iCloud on a laptop and I really want to move it to my PC but do not know if I can do it and would appreciate input from the group. Thanks.

Icloud storage is not on any laptop or pc it is on Apple server. If you just want PC synced with icloud you need to install icloud control panel (link below) before you do that you may want to research a bit to understand what you want, cause I feel like you do not know.

  • How can I move an application window to a different desktop space?

Spaces is cool, very cool and useful. I'm glad they took the hint from KDE desktop in Linux and made it work unlike the clumsy goober that M'soft tried to do. But here's the thing- in Linux you can move an application to a different desktop space. I guess that's coming in a later update- nobody thought you'd wanna move something to another space!

Unfortunately, I've run into several non-Apple programs, including Adobe Photoshop CS3 that do not show up in the Spaces grid view. If you can't see the windows in the grid you can't move the application.

  • How do i move my iphoto library to a different hard drive

i want to move my iphot library / and photos to a differant hard drive. I have no room on my current hard drive, just way too many photos.

Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
