  • How can I move all my photos to my Mac?

I want to send all my photos on my phone to iPhoto on my Mac.  What is the quickest, easiest way to do this?

One way is by connecting the USB (charger) cord: Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
Another is via a 3rd party app such as http://www.photosync-app.com
In the near future when the new Photos app (replacement for iPhoto) is released (likely with OS X 10. 10.3) you can do it via iCloud Photo Library iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
Another alternative for new photos taken after Photo Stream is activated is My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support

  • How do I move my entire photo library from an iPad to a computer?

Hi to anyone who can help.  I just made the huge mistake of switching my iMac to Lion and within minutes everything started going buggy.  Now I can't even get the computer to stay unfrozen for more than a few minutes.  I'm terrified I'm going o lose all my children's pictures.  I have a time machine back up, but I am worried that that may have been corrupted as well.  I have all my photos on my iPad though and would like to copy these over to another Mac or a PC if the time machine is screwed up.  How can I transfer the pictures off my iPad?  there's 16,0000 pf them, so emailing them out is not a real option.  Thanks in advance or any advice.

Photos that were originally synced from a computer can be copied off via third-party iPad apps such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer which you can try first), which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on the computer.
Have you not got a backups of the originals on external drives ?

  • How can i move ALL of my Iphoto/aperture pictures from the internal hd to a external hd at one session?  just need to how to do this. (I know this is a long process; just looking for a faster method).

looking for a way other than post and click.

I'm not at all sure what you mean by "post and click", but if you wish to move your entire iPhoto Library, then follow these steps:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2506
As far as I know, you can set up Aperture to access its library on an external drive; I tried to find some info for you and found this support site for it - you might want to check it out. Also, you might want to check the manual on how to move the library.

  • How do I turn on my Notes on my mac for the iCloud without having to make yet another @me account?

All I want to do is save my hundreds of notes without having to email them to myself one by one.  So I switch the on button for Notes on my iPhone, and it prompts me to make an @me account.  I'm pretty sure I already have one but I make it anyways.
Then I go to my computer to switch on the Notes for my mac so that they can hopefully sync, but it prompts me yet again to make a new @me account.
Someone please help, I just want to save my Notes without having to make 5 accounts that'll be around forever.

That's not the way it's supposed to work. Once the account is created somewhere, you should be able to connect to that same account (same AppleID) on the other device(s).

backup the ipad2 to a computer running itunes using the usb cable
and then restore the new one with the backup of the old one
you can also backup and restore the same way on icloud but one only get 5GB for free which is rarely enough to hold the data

The Startup Manager may be necessary if the 'C' key fails:
Use the Option key, when possible instead of 'C' key to boot discs

  • How do I move all the photos from the i-photo library on one account to the i-photo library on another account?

I have recently bought a new mac mini running Lion, and yesterday I migrated an account off an older machine running Tiger.
I want to delete the older account from this machine as it is causing some problems with i-cloud, but I want to transfer the photos first and add them to a different account on the new computer.
So my question is How do I move all the photos from the i-photo library on one account to the i-photo library on another account?

Copy the iPhoto library from the old Mac to the Desktop of the new one.  Then download the paid version of  iPhoto Library Manager, which is now compatible with Mt. Lion, and use it to merge the two libraries into a new, third library.  This will preserve the two libraries in case the merged library isn't to your liking.
Here are screenshots of iPLM's coping and merging preferences:
When you're satisfied that the new, merged libraray is complete and working OK you can delete the two earlier libraries.

  • How do I move all my ipad photos to icloud? .

How do I move all my ipad photos to icloud? Since the last software update none of my ipad pictures upload to the cloud. i just want to empty all the picture to the cloud and free up the ipad.

You turn iCloud Photo Library on in Settings > iCloud > Photos. However it doesn't "empty" the pictures to the cloud. The most you can do to free up space using iCloud is to turn on Optimize Storage to keep a smaller device-sized version of the photos on your iPad. See the quote below from iCloud Photo Library FAQ - Apple Support
Can I use iCloud Photo Library to save space on my device?
iCloud Photo Library automatically keeps all your photos and videos in the original, high-resolution version. Follow these steps to choose how you store your photos and videos on your device:
In iOS, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings > Photos & Camera, then select a storage setting.
In OS X, click Photos > Preferences > iCloud, then select a storage setting.
If you turn on Optimize [device] Storage, iCloud Photo Library will automatically manage the size of your library on your device, so you can make the most of your device's storage and access more photos than ever. All of your original, full-resolution photos and videos are stored in iCloud while device-size versions are kept on your device. You can download the original photos and videos over Wi-Fi or cellular when you need them.
If you turn on Download Originals, iCloud Photo Library will keep your original, full-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and on your device. Download Originals is the default setting for iOS devices with the free 5 GB storage plan and for all Mac devices.

  • How do I move Elements 11 photos and catalogue from iMac to new iMac both running Yosemite?

I've been researching best way to move my photos and catalogue from my current iMac to my new iMac.  I'm using Elements 11.  Both iMacs running Yosemite.  I know I need to deactivate the current computer's version of Elements if putting it on the new one runs me over the license limit - I don't think it will.  I have read enough to be pretty sure I have to NOT migrate the Elements 11 program to the new iMac because it won't work properly - I'll have to reinstall it from my installation disc on the new iMac.  So far, so good.
Now, I want the easiest way to get the photos on the new iMac, in the same folders, and preserve the catalogue and my current ratings on the photos.  I am unclear on how the catalogue works with its backup and restore function.  Should I move all my photos in their folders in exactly the same locations on my new iMac before installing Elements and trying to restore the catalogue?  I read about the ways to restore the catalogue and I am unsure about whether it just looks for the pictures in the places it expects to find them (which will be the same if I copy everything on to the new iMac first), or whether it restores the pictures where it thinks they should be (in which case I should NOT put the pictures on the new iMac before restoring the catalogue or I'll end up duplicating everything).   Also I have read - and been confused by - the options about restoring catalogue in new location, old location, etc.  I don't want my folders changed.  I have my pictures stored where I want them and I want to keep them there - and I'd prefer not to add some extra layer under the basic My Pictures on my iMac.
I have stored the most recent version of the catalogue, with all photos reconnected, on an external drive.  All the pictures in the catalogue have their meta-data associated with them.  I hope that this will allow me to preserve ratings.  Going through thousands of pictures to find the really good ones again is a time-consuming mess.  When I went from Windows to Mac 3 years ago - I lost the catalogue and all ratings.  When I upgraded from Elements 9 to Elements 11, I lost the catalogue and all ratings.  I do NOT want to ever go through that again.

I appreciate your answer and agree that it is correct, but you told me nothing I did not know.  There is an Elements technical paper which says this in much greater detail, but still does not answer the questions I was trying to ask.
The catalogue file seems much too small to include my thousands of photos.  Are you telling me that it has magically reduced the size of all those photos - from 64 GB to 33 GB, and added the catalogue information - so that the photos will just appear out of nothing but that smaller catalogue file when I restore catalogue?  If so, will you explain the options of same location, new location, new location with existing file structure, etc?
I understand installing the program.  I understand that I should backup the catalogue (I've done it).  I understand I will use restore to restore the catalogue.  I found all this on other sites.  I need someone, somewhere, to explain to me if I need to copy the photos themselves to their new location before I restore catalogue - or not.  And which option in restore to use.  I thought I explained this in my original question.  Any help on these questions about matters I do not understand will be appreciated.

  • How do I download all my photos onto an external hard drive intact without loosing iPhoto's features, important info and details? I need to delete pictures and files to make room in My mac's memory which is currently full.

    Hi
How do I download all my photos onto an external hard drive intact without loosing iPhoto's features, important info and details? I need to delete pictures and files to make room in My mac's memory which is currently full.

So you want to move the iPhoto Library?
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • Apple Senior tech lady deleted all my external drive data while sorting out other problem. How can I restore all my photos , music etc back to my Mac Pro?(I am so scared, I haven't connected to sync! Please help)

Apple Senior tech lady deleted all my external drive data while sorting out other problem. How can I restore all my photos , music etc back to my Mac Pro?(I am so scared, I haven't connected iPhone to sync! Please help)

It was tele tech. I couldn't open my Page Numbers etc. Frist tech chat idiot - following dumping few things in bin, asked me yo upgrade to Yosemite. But the problem still persists. This morning I was asked to do it via telephone and like yesterday, after wasting 20 min, I was put to this apparent Tech Queen ( my foot!). She eventually decided to reinstall  Yosemite asked me to connect my external drive while I connected to her. She was moving cursor asking me to move files and delete and I followed her like a dummy. It took 3/4 hours and she called me 3 times once the lengthy process was completed. I suspected from the beginng for the fact that why should be asking me to click all my backup from the very beginning! Eventually she said I deleted... Or someone else or may be my children ! It was a blatant lie. I run my small business from home and I was simply staying in front of the Mac whole day! Children were at school. Then she said I must have used another computer! I only have laptop and the iPad. I will talk to their manager first thing in the morning. In the mean time please let me know as to how can I transfer photos, music etc back to my laptop from my Iphone and IPad .? I am will connect to laptop as I am worried the new BLANK iPhoto may supersede iphone/iPad stuff? Will it? Please let me know. I am not a very tech savvy person. My son who could help me, is in Manchester Uni and Inam in London.
