How do I move an upgraded version when I have thrown away the 'original' version CD?
The first version of Photoshop I owned (and registered with Adobe) was version 6. I then purchased an upgrade to CS and this year purchased an upgrade to CS4. I recently tried to install CS on another computer (AFAIK the EULA allows me to install it on two machines), and when I did the install failed because CS couldn't find the older version from which I upgraded. And unfortunately in a fit of housekeeping, I threw out a lot of old software earlier this year. What do I do? And will I be able to install CS4 on a new computer when I buy a new one later this year?
Relatedly, I when I went to check my registrations on the Adobe Web site, it only shows my registered copies of CS4, LR1 and LR2. It no longer shows my registrations of PS version 6, CS, Photoshop Elements version 1 or PSE version 2. How can I get all of those registrations 'restored'?

The CS4 installer just requires a qualifying serial, not the original install files, so that's less of a worry.

They are certainly there, but may not exist in a format that allows them to be pulled live from a database. Creating a support case and requesting them by mail should bring them up.

If the libraries contain all the media - which is the default - then all you have to do is drag them to the external drive using the Finder.
In any case, start by dragging a library to the external.
Now open that library in FCP X, select it under "Libraries" and open the Inspector - you should see something like the picture below.
Most likely, for Media, the location is "In Library", which means that most or all content should be inside the library. To make sure, click "Consolidate". This will copy anything that may have been stored outside the library, so that the library is completely self-contained.
You can now safely delete the copy of the library from the internal drive.
Tip: one of the things that uses most space is transcoded media - especially optimized media. You can safely delete that by going to File->Delete Generated Library Media. -

What version of iPhoto did you have and what version do you now have? Of the OS? If you are upgrading from iphoto '08 or earlier did you download and RUN the iphoto library upgrader?

When I try to download the latest version of iTunes from apple.com, I get the message "Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate."When I open iTunes and try to download the latest version there, I get the message "iTunes has an invalid signature. The download has been removed." I have also gotten an Internet Script Error stating that an error has occured in Line 0, Char O and that "Access is denied to images.apple.com/global/scripts/lib/iepngfix.htc." This problem has never occurred with earlier versions of ITunes. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Are you downloading iTunes form an Apple website or somewhere else? If the answer is somewhere else, try downloading it from Apple. Click on iTunes in the black menu bar above and go from there.

When I tried to download the new version of firefox I get an error message that says "your computer must be restarted to complete an earlier upgrade" when I restart it says the same thing. I cannot use firefox at all at the moment. When I try to uninstall in the control panel, the same message pops up.
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

When going from a Mac-based Ai to a PC based Ai, the documents "Font" are not found on the PC version? (mostly Helvetica) where and how do I get those Fonts? And/or, can I use the Mac version of these Fonts?
Thanks, RichIn order to be cross platform you must be using the Open Type version of all fonts to cause the least disruption. Macs can read and process the Windows .ttf type format but PCs can't process Mac formatted type. Most recent versions also cannot use the older PS Type 1 fonts.

Which I get. But clicking on that link you provided does not give you the option of choosing between 32 and 64 bit installers.
Yeah, that was certainly a 32-bit installer file being referred to in the other message, too. (The 64-bit installer file is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)
Just in case it's an issue with your normal browser not working properly with the system-detection equipment on the page (there's a javascript control that checks for operating system specifics, and is supposed to deliver the correct Mac or Windows installers), let's try a different web browser for the download. If you use Firefox instead of IE (or vice versa), do you get offered an iTunes64Setup.exe instead of an iTunesSetup.exe? -
When I try to update Firefox it repeatedly says Firefox must be closed to proceed with install even tho Firefox is closed. I have ATV2 and the correct version of ITunes yet when watching a movie from ITunes, ATV2 will drop it mid way through and then will claim home sharing is not activated in ITunes. Can anyone offer advice please?
yepp, I have done numerous tests today, skipped router and hard wired betwenn PC and appletv3. same problem.
same network, but from my laptop, works like a charm.. so its not reproducable on all machines.
