How do I move bookmarks imported from internet explorer from the folder so they show when I click Bookmarks

The imported bookmarks are in a folder whereas if I create a new bookmark in Firefox it just appears when I click bookmarks. How please can I move the IE ones over?

Are they already in the Bookmarks Manager, or are you getting ready?
The Bookmarks Manager works just like the file browser on the computer.
Bookmarks (files) can be moved, or removed the same way.

Photos that were synced from a computer won't show for copying to a computer. If you want to copy them back then you will need a third-party app on your phone such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer (e.g. their dimensions might be different and their colours may look a bit different).

I want to import bookmarks from Internet Explorer 8, but the import link under file in Firefox is ghosted out and doesn't allow me access. How can I access the Firefox import function?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Numerous websites linked to desktop icons won't open with Firefox as my default browser, but will when I subsequently designate Internet Explorer as the default browser. However, when I select IE, I cannot open Firefox. How do I fix this? CharlieA

When I designate Firefox as my default browser, I cannot open any destop link to any website, except Mozilla. When I change that designation to Internet Explorer, I can open all destop linked websites, except for Firefox. What do I do?

Sometimes Windows gives you weird error messages when you click a link in another program or double-click a desktop shortcut. These messages usually occur only when Firefox was closed and has to be launched before the link can be loaded. Is that what you're getting? This occurs when Firefox's registry settings get crossed up, as described in this article: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_error_opening_Internet_shortcut_or_local_HTML_file_-_Firefox Windows error opening Internet shortcut or local HTML file - Firefox - MozillaZine Knowledge Base].
If that isn't it, what happens exactly?

  • My bookmarks aren't showing up in the menu, but they show up in Organize Bookmarks

I have a problem with my bookmarks, cookies, history or settings
    == Description
    ==
    OS: OSX 10.6.4
    Browser version: Firefox 3.6.8
This has been happening for a while, but it's starting to get very annoying.
This problem does NOT always happen, it seems to happen randomly. It can sometimes be fixed by quitting and re-opening Firefox, but I generally have to quit and open several times.
My bookmarks and history will not show up when using the menu bar. (File, edit, view, hist, bookmarks, tools, window, help)
They do, however, show up in my bookmarks toolbar, organize bookmarks, and show all history.
I have tried updated torbutton, but that doesn't change anything.
    Any ideas?

  • Internet Explorer won't let Firefox download. When I click Run, it tells me it's timed out when it reaches 99%

Just bought new laptop and can't install Firefox. The program will run until it gets to 99% completion, then Internet Explorer pops up and says it's timed out.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files.
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files

  • How can I use Auto Import to name files after the folder they are dropped into?

I'm camera tethered on a new Macbook Pro Retina, Lightroom 5, all latest software and OS. Using  EOS Utility to connect and drop into a DROP folder. When Lightroom Autoimports, I would like it to rename the file after the destination folder. Capture One has this feature and I could have sworn I saw a drop down menu on one of the naming tokens in LR5 about a month ago.  ANY IDEAS?

The closest you can come is to create a File Naming Template that includes "Custom Text" as a part of the file name.  Then, you will have to change the Auto Import Settings to use this Template when auto-importing and manually type that folder name in every time you change folders.  There is no "Folder" token of which I am aware.

  • I have imported from Microsoft Internet Explorer favorites, cookies, history and they are not available after importing under the Bookmarks tab. How do I find the import of favorites in firefox?

When importing from Microsoft Internet Explorer I have successfully completed and clicked on finish. I am not finding my favorites under the Bookmarks tab. I have shut down Firefox and and restarted the browser and still not finding favorites. I also restarted the computer still not finding favorites imported from Microsoft Internet Explorer. How can I find the data imported from Microsoft Internet Explorer?

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks).
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

I just downloaded Firefox 3.6 and followed the instructions for importing Favorites from Internet Explorer. Firefox said the import was successful, but the Favorites do not appear at the bottom of the Bookmarks menu (below "Mozilla Firefox") as shown in the Support instructions. when i try to import bookmarks from internet explorer it say it's completed the import, but nothing was imported.

  • I use "From Internet Explorer" to store my new bookmarks but they do not show up in my "Favorites" - where are they?

When I changed from IE7 to Firefox (and am very glad I did) I migrated my large list of Favorites (which was divided into sub-headings to make it easier to find items) to Firefox Bookmarks. As I continued to bookmark web sites, I added them to to the sub-headings in "From Internet Explorer" from which I can readily retrieve them. However, when I wanted to copy them to my laptop, I discovered that the only "Favorites" I can find on my PC are the old IE7 Favorites - none of the additions made within Firefox were there. Similarly, the Bookmarks Toolbar which I now use is different from the Favorites Toolbar still accessible from my Windows Explorer.
Where is this information stored in Firefox so I can copy it?
My OS is Wndows 7 Professional.

See [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
    Moving bookmarks to another computer
    '''Using Firefox Sync'''
You can use Firefox Sync to move your bookmarks from one computer to another.
Note: Firefox Sync continuously updates itself as you change bookmarks, so it does not provide a true backup service, nor is it intended to be used as one.
Firefox Sync is the best way to keep your bookmarks (and other profile data) synchronized between all of the computers you use. See Firefox Sync - Take your bookmarks, tabs and personal information with you for more information and Share bookmarks, tabs and more with your other computers for instructions on setting it up.
    Using a bookmark backup file
'''You can also use a bookmark backup file''' from one computer and restore it on another computer. This is useful if you can't Sync the two computers, for some reason.
The bookmark backup file can either be a manual backup (see above) or one of the automatic dated backups located inside the Firefox profile folder bookmarkbackups folder. Place the bookmark backup file on your transfer media (e.g. a Flash drive) and copy it to the desktop (or any location) of the other computer. You can then restore the backup from the Firefox Library window, using the Choose File... option, as described in the Restoring from backups section above.
