How do I move/copy pictures to a USB?

I want to move and save some of my pictures in an exteranl hardrive. I am not sure how to properly copy and/or drag a copy of the pictures to a USB. Please help!
AH

You drag and drop them in Finder, much like you would using any other OS. Your USB device will appear on the right hand side under Applications, Movies, Photos etc, and you drag the chosen file and drop onto the connected USB device.

Sindbad. A suggestion, to let us know all the specifics of your machine: go the the help menu, and select System Info...
Copy the contents, and paste it in an answer there.
You might want to remove your serial number.
Thanks to that we will know: the exact version of Photoshop, your memory, where Photoshop is installed, the graphic card and its drivers, and also if you are using third party plug-ins.
Some other users reported that when launching Photoshop holding down the shift key (this disables the plug-ins), he was able to see the images.
The solution in that case is to search for updated plug-ins (or to report the plug-in manufacturers that their plug-ins causes issues in Photoshop.

    Hello SusieMacBook,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
You can definitely get these photos into iPhoto if they are the correct file type (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and PNG).  The way you import the photo attachments depends on where you check your e-mail.  The following article is for iPhoto 11 (but should work for previous versions as well).  It outlines how to import photos from Mac Mail, other e-mail applications, and web browsers, so just look at the section that applies to you.

    I hope this helps!

  • How do I move my pictures from iphoto on my mac book to iphoto on my new Desktop?

I am not sure what how to transfer all my pictures from iphoto on my old mac book to my new desktop computer. Any help would be appreicated.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

  • How do I move my pictures from I-Photo albums to a usb drive?

I am trying to move my pictures (in albums) from my MacBook Pro I-Photo to a USB drive so that I can show them on my new digital frame.  How do I do it?  And I somehow lost my icon for I-photo on the bottom of my screen....

1 - select the photo(s) in iPhoto and export (file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder - mount the USB drive and drag that folder to it.  I usually use the export custom size option to limit teh photo to the maximum pixel dimension of the photo frame letting me have more photos on the USB drive
2 - to restore the iPhoto icon in the dock launch iPhoto from the Applications folder and right click on the icon in the Dock sleecting keep in Dock

  • How to improve "Move/Copy to" context service

OK, so I created and used this fantastic context service that moves or copies files from on place to another.
I thought I was gonna be happy with it, because I used a similar one extensively when I've had "Move Items X" installed under Leopard.
Well, I must confess : even if the service does the job, it's still quite annoying for a few reasons :
    1. When you select "Other" it opens a window that is positioned such way that you always have to move it around to get to see all of it… or maybe the initial dialog window should disappear for the duration of your folder selection action.
    2. Now this one I think is more important. If anybody used Move Items X, you know that when you arrow select or mouse point to "Move To" it goes to a submenu showing the hard drives you want to move to, and after you select the desired one, it goes into another submenu with all the folders contained in that hard drive you just selected, and so on, until you get to the destination where you want to move or copy the files. So basically, the whole GUI looks and feels like the finder, except that it works even quicker.
I'm still ******* about this thing, because the way I see it, this entire "third party context menus replaced by Services" is supposed to be a time saver. So far it's really not, well maybe except for some services that require 3 to 10 actions chained up into a single workflow.
I even downloaded and installed some of those workflows from http://www.macosautomation.com/services/download . I'll go over the fact that most of them are probably things that you could use once a month or not even, the ones that I found useful and tested, didn't work… "There was an error…Check workflow or press OK". Provided by Apple…
Anyway… Anybody has an idea on how to make that "Move/Copy to" service look and feel like the one from Move Items X ?
That would be so cool… probably would take a guy who doesn't have any time to waist on this forum…
    Worth a shot though…

and so it has. It's been a HUGE improvement over leopard as it allows users to easily create services suitable for their needs without need for 3rd party tools.
however, automator created services never meant to be very fancy. you can not possibly expect a refined or highly customizable user interface from something like that. if you want that you still need 3rd party developers unless you want to write a service using developer tools yourself. but that requires serious programming skills. automator does not.
3rd party services and contextual menus are still around. they just need to be rewritten for snow leopard. your "move menu x" CM might be updated to Snow leopard eventually too.
So far it's really not, well maybe except for some services that require 3 to 10 actions chained up into a single workflow.

  • How can I move a picture in Premiere Elements 12 without having it leave a gap?

I have 133 pictures in a project with audio tracks playing while the pictures are being displayed.  I want to move some of the pictures around.  In Pinnacle Studio, a product I am familiar with, which unfortunately is not available on an iMac,  I simply select a picture, drag it to where I want it, and presto - all done, no gaps, and the audio track (which I have locked) is not impacted.  In Premiere Elements 12, when I move a picture, it leaves a gap of a black display where the picture was instead of shifting everything over like I assume most people would want it to do.
To make matters worse, Premiere then inserts a gap in the audio track at the location where I moved my picture.  Apparently the software thinks I don't want the music to play over my picture at its new location.  Then, when I try to select the blank area where my picture used to be and do "delete and close gap" it doesn't get rid of the entire gap.
I solved part of the problem by deleting the audio file, which I don't think I should have to do, but that's a function lacking in Premiere, not allowing me to lock the audio track.  So now the "delete and close gap" will work with the audio gone, but is there a way to simply move a picture from one location to another and just adjust all the other pictures so as not to leave a gap?
Am I the only one who thinks that not leaving a gap should be the default?  Why leave a gap just moving a picture from one location to another?  If the intent was to add another picture later, you just slip it in place.  I don't get it.
Thanks for any help anyone has.
    Rick

Have you looked at Delete and Close Gap as well as Delete for what you describe?
Nonetheless, adding or moving clips to an existing Timeline content without disturbing the existing Timeline content can be challenging and complex under certain scenarios.
Typical solutions include making these moves with a keyboard modified held down (Windows Alt or Ctr). I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so we will need to find the Mac counterparts for the Windows keyboard modifier techniques.
Also, if one move triggers a multi-chain disaster, then you should consider grouping block of clips so that they do not move while you are busy with your Timeline maneuvers. Check out the Clip Menu options for Group and Ungroup.
Some times in the "Mac condition", you need to use fn in addition to the command to achieve some of these Windows counterparts.
The following video tutorial on arranging clips and keyboard modifiers is being posted for informational non promotional reasons.
Premiere Elements: Arranging clips on the Timeline using modifier keys | lynda.com - YouTube
It is demo'd with Premiere Elements 8, but the principles are the same for later versions of the program.
Here is one variation of the issue on Windows.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE: Delete and Close Gap Failures
You should not have to delete audio to prevent it from being split by an addition to an existing Timeline. The keyboard modifiers should help you resolve this type of issue.
    Please review and consider.
    Thanks.
