How do i move emails within the archives?

when i archive an email i would like to be able to move them to subfolders that i have created. so far they go to the archives, but i can't move them to a subfolder.

You can't. The Library is your database of secured info. It can only be sorted by any of the 26 fields of information in ascending or descending order.
Assuming that the reason you asked is that you want to play certain songs in a certain order (maybe you should confirm this), create a playlist equal to your Library and manipulate it instead.
Or, you can edit song information, or add fields, in the library that help to sequence the playing the way you'd like, even if you're in shuffle mode. This method is far more technical and time consuming to enter the data and stay on top of it.
Playlists are simple to create and easy to manipulate.

  • How do I move notes within the Notes App to a different account?

    My iPhone4 has iOS 4.2.1, and I didn't realize until today that that came along with an updated Notes app that allows syncing with email accounts. Somehow I managed to unknowingly move about half of my notes to one of my email accounts, which deleted them from my iPhone's memory (although, still visible in the Notes App when synch is enabled). All I want to do is move these notes back to my iPhone so that I can turn off sync (without losing access to them) to hopefully avoid losing/misplacing any more notes, but I can't see any obvious way to do it. Any ideas?
    Extra Info: This may have happened last night when I went through and viewed all of these notes so that I could delete old, useless ones. I didn't edit any of them (oldest was last editted July 2010), but that is the only thing I can think of.
    Also, today, while exploring Settings, I discovered that the email account they all moved to (an IMAP, if that helps) was set as the default account (in Settings-->Notes-->Default Account drop-down menu). Hoping this was the source of the problem, I changed default to the "On My iPhone" option, went back to the Notes app and viewed all my notes again... Didn't work.
    Hope all this helps clarify the problem--really don't want to lose these or future notes.
    Thanks!

    should I just cry uncle and go to the local genius bar for instructions lol

    In Lightroom mobile how can move photos within the collection????

    What you can do is to move (or copy) a photo form one collection to another. This can be triggered via the top right app menu item from grid view. Same menu is available when you open up an image for editing. Hope that helps. -Guido

  • How do I move emailed photos to iPhoto with Lion? I've lost the drop down option.Karen

    How do I move emailed photos to iPhoto using Lion? I've lost the previous drop down option.
    Thank you, Karen

    There are multiple ways. I am not at my Lion machine at the moment, so I am not sure I can remember them all, but here is one: Click on the "Details" button in the upper right corner of the message. If there are image attachments, the drop down menu should appear.
    Or, try right click on the image. I think I saw "Add to iPhoto" in the contextual menu.

  • How to use database file within jar archive

    Hi. I'm quite new in Java programming, and I'm wondering if what I did makes sense or not.
    In my applet I'm using a MS Access Database file, which is contained in the same Jar Archive like the Applet class file. I tried and tried to use this Database file directly but it wouldn't work. Than I read in some other forum that it is not possible to use the database file directly within the archive. First question: Is that true?
    Than I desided to extract the DB file in the init() method of my applet to the default temporary foulder. When the program is closed I use the destroy() method to delete it again. Everything works well now. But is this the typical way this is done?
    Thanks for help!

    Hi,
    here is the code which extracts the database file out of the jar archive (the same archive in which the class file is):
    //get the user temporary folder
    File TempFolder = new File(System.getProperty("java.io.tmpdir"));
    //create (empty) db file
    efile = new File(TempFolder, "steelSections.mdb");
    // if database file is not yet extracted
    if (!efile.exists()) {
    //get an input stream for the database file
    InputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(
    "FaST/db/steelSections.mdb"));
    //create an output stream for the db file on the file system
    OutputStream out = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(efile));
    //-Buffer to copy the data
    byte[] buffer = new byte[2048]; //buffer to copy the binary
    for (;;) {
    int nBytes = in.read(buffer); //read data
    if (nBytes <= 0)
    break; //no more data to read
    out.write(buffer, 0, nBytes); //write data
    out.flush(); //close out and in streams
    out.close();
    in.close();
    If you have the db file in an other jar archive file you need a referenze to the entry in the other jar archive. I'm not sure how to get this, but I'm sure you fill find a solution by searching in this forum...
    Good luck!

  • How do I move photos within a journal (ie from 1 page to another) in iPhoto

    How do I move photos within a journal (ie from 1 page to another) in iPhoto

    iPhoto is not very smart with multiple photos...
    I don't think you can move multiple photos and I suggest the following turnaround, using the "combine pages" option mentioned in my previous reply.
    Create a blank page that you move next to the page(s) where the photos you want to move are;
    then move your pictures there one by one (use the new page as a temporary parking space),
    then merge this new page were you want to move the multiple pictures, using the "combine pages".
    This would save time if your journal has many pages, so you don't have to move each photo through multiple pages but just to the next/previous page.
    I just made this up but I tried it and it works!

  • Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox, and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox

    Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox (the emails are there fine), and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox. I have moved them out of the inbox to other mailboxes again and again, but then they keep showing up in the inbox again as soon as I click on any mailbox other than the inbox. Very frustrating.
    This has only happened since I installed Mavericks on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. It happens on both of them.
    Any ideas how to fix it?
    peter

    This may be one of the known issues with Gmail and it's IMAP settings working with Maverick's Mail.
    It all comes down to if you have the ALL MAIL folder visible or not via IMAP.
    If you do not, then you get the behavior you are describing.
    If you do have ALL MAIL visible, then there isn't a problem.
    Odd, I know.
    Anyway, check out this article on Wired which describes the problem and work around. You may have to click on the NEXT button at the top of the window to advance to the proper gallery image that describes this issue:

  • HOW points get you privileges within the community

    1. Create an account.
    2. Receive welcome email: "Welcome to Apple Support Communities! ... "Participate: Check out the community by reading existing discussions and see what the latest buzz is about. Got answers? Post responses, enlighten the community, and earn points! See how points get you privileges within the community."
    3. Go to link to see how points get you privileges.
    4. Read what points are...
    OK, so it explains how to get points and that they give you privileges, but no mention of how points get you privileges or link to that information. Not that I really care, but pointing it out. Is it just another "status" in our communities for people to feel good about [authoratative, look at me], or does it really provide something worthwhile relative to being helpful and providing Apple's support for them?

    Refer to ... 'More like this', this page, right hand column, bottom entry ... 'What's the benefit of accruing points in Apple communities'
    Carolyn Samit's excellent answer details all the levels and the justification for taking part in community discussions.
    Personally, simply scouting around the different sections is an education in itself and I would heartily recommend you to take an interest.

  • I have playlists on my original iPod but are not in the library.  How can I move them from the iPod to the library?

    I have playlists on my original iPod but are not in the library.  How can I move them from the iPod to the library?

    She can choose to either enable the setting on her iPod to Manually manage music and videos.  With setting enabled she can sync content to her iPod from multiple computers without it affecting whats already stored her iPod. For more information on syncing content to an iPod manually see this article.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1535
    However, I would recommend copying whats on her iPod to her iTunes library first.  There are several ways to accomplish this.  See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer discussing the different ways to do it.

    Much the same way as you originally did.  Download it and use your serial number to activate it.

    If you registered it when you first installed it then your serial number might be available in your Adobe account online.

    Can you explain in more detail what it is you want to do? I'm not clear how moving messages to a flash drive would make them appear as they do under Lion.
