How do I move event library from thumb drive back to Events Library?

I am in desperate need of immediate help. In trying to be smart and help the finace move his projects to my newer version of imovie I completely screwed everything up!!
I was trying to move an imovie project from one mac to another with a properly formatted thumb drive. I moved (not copied) the event library onto a thumb drive, this is not what I wanted and now the originals are gone. How do I move the event library back to imovie back off the thumb drive? Everything is fine when the thumb drive in plugged in but I need it back in imovie. When the thumb drive is unplugged I get the yellow triangles with exclamation points on several of teh project library clips.
I tried copying from the thumb drive and pasted to the desktop but I can't figure out how to get them back in imovie.
THANK YOU for any and all help you can give.

I figured this out. How simple that I just have to reimport them into imovie. Here is the next problem, now that the Event Library is restored there are a bunch of yellow triangles with exclamations points in them in the Project Library. What does this mean? How do I get rid of them?
Thank you

  • I got a new computer and some of my music apparently wasn't backed up to the external hard drive.  I have some of the music that didn't save on an iphone. How do I move the music from the iPhone into my iTunes library on the computer?

I got a new computer and somehow have lost some of my more recently purchased and or imported music.  I have some of that music on an iphone and some on an ipad.  How do I get the music from those devices into my itunes library without losing everything else?

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • How do I move an audiobook from "Music" to "Audiobooks" in the Library?

I've got one audiobook (403 parts) and it's listed under Music in my Library. I've just added the Audiobooks heading for the Library, but can't see how to move the audiobook so it's listed under that heading.
    TIA,
    Monte

With iTunes 8.x or later you have the option to tell iTunes to treat any audio file as an audiobook. Simply select the tracks, *Get Info.*, then on the options tab set *Media kind* to Audiobook. You can also set options to *Remember playback position* and *Skip when shuffling*.
Assuming, however, that the books consist of more than one file you may have problems if you plan to listen to them on an iPod. The Audiobooks feature was originally designed for books that have been stitched up into a single file and hasn't been updated to reflect the changes that now make multi-track audiobooks easy to work with in iTunes. The main issue is that the iPod lists all audiobook files by track title/chapter name so unless you rename every track using a scheme such as *Book Title, Chapter XX* (make that XXX for 403 parts) the tracks will play out of sequence. There are tools for creating iPod-friendly audiobooks for which Aldo on Audiobooks is probably the best reference. Personally I don't bother with the extra effort and just have an "Audiobooks" playlist folder containing sub-folders for each author and within these playlists for each audiobook. Although I still mark the files as Audiobooks to keep them out of my main music section when it comes to the iPod I ignore it's Audiobooks feature and use my own playlists for access.
Note that I've used leading digits in the playlist names to arrange these in chronological rather than alphabetical order.

  • How do I get my music from my IPod back in the library of my new computer, it tells me I can only Sync my IPod with one library but I don't have my old PC anymore?

How can I Sync my IPod in ITune on a new PC and get the music from the IPod in the library and avoid this msg:
You can only Sync one library with your IPod?

Use the backup of the media and other important files from the old computer to put them on the new computer.
iTunes only syncs with one computer/library at a time.
If you have failed to maintain a backup or no longer have the old computer, you may be out of luck.
iTunes purchases can be transfered from the iDevice.  Connect the device, do NOT sync.  Select File > Transfer Purchases.
This will only transfer iTunes purchases.  All other media will not transfer and will be wiped from the device when it is synced with a new computer/library.

  • HT1751 How can I move iTunes Music from one drive to another?

I'm having trouble ... hoping someone can help.
    Windows XP Pro.
My MP3s were on a networked Data Drive (Z:).  I drag the songs I want on iTunes from there to the iTunes program, and it's library
    was in the "normal" place (\Documents and Settings\MyName\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music ).
I copied my iTunes library folder onto an external drive and also copied the Z drive MP3s onto the external drive. I then put the MP3s
on a new computer with Windows XP Pro, downloaded the latest version of iTunes on the new computer, and then drug the iTunes
folder from the external drive onto the new computer in the exact same "normal" place as above.
When I open iTunes, my music is not there for some reason.  Is there any way to correct this sort of readding all my music and all
    my cover art?
    Thank you.

    Thank you for the response.
I cannot find the file   iTunes Library.itl   ...
I have the structure you mention:
<User's Music>\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl where <User's Music> is the music folder of the profile as defined by the operating system.
but that file is not there (I looked in the preferences of iTunes in order to find the location and that is the location it stated).
"iTunes can be connected to a library in a different location by holding down shift as you start it and clicking Choose from the options to Choose or Create a library."
I can do this, but again, there is no .itl file that I can find ... now I'm more confused         Of course, if I fire up my old computer, there is no drive Z any longer, so while all my music appears on iTunes, I cannot click on any as it then will not be able to find the song on the drive that no longer exists.
I am going to do a search on the old computer for that .itl file to see if it was just in some other place for some reason.

  • How do i move garageband files from my itunes back to my phone??

hi i made some songs on my wifes phone and now i got one so i want to transfer them to the new phone.... how can i do this through itunes??

At the moment iTunes can't add a folder to the file sharing area, only individual files. Looking at an iMovie project it is exported as a zip file with a .iMobileMovie extension and I don't really understand why the same hasn't been done with .band exports.
I have seen reports of success using iExplorer (formerly iPhoneExplorer) to add projects to the device but having completely failed to get it to work, or even show me the contents of the GarageBand app's folder on my iPhone I can't really suggest that as an option right now.
I have however submitted a bug report about the issue so hopefully it will be addressed at some point.

  • How Do I Move My Photos From One Drive To Another?

Can I simply do this in my "Folders" view by dragging the highest level "Photo Folder" to the other drive.
My computer's primary drive (C) is only 500GB whereas my second drive (D) is now 1TB.  For obvious reasons I would like to get my nearly 3,000 digital photos moved to the larger drive.
Running Premiere Elements 11 under Microsoft Windows 7 on a Lenovo W520 Laptop

    MGW of Boulder
The bottom bottom line may be to make the photo-moves in stages, one successful stage after another C to D drives.
And, then make Elements Organizer Slideshow Project (.psess) and Premiere Elements project.prel media reconnects
as they come, using whatever the program gives you in the way of media reconnect dialogs. Alternatively using the
    program's Replace Footage feature.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Replace Footage
Below is the unabridged version of the above.
The bottom line is that you are going to run to media disconnect/reconnect issues when you move, delete, or rename
files/folders  after the save close of the Elements Organizer Slideshow Project and/or the Premiere Elements 12 project
file which uses the Slideshow Project as source media.
The reconnect of the Elements Organizer’s Slideshow Project media can be as simple as double clicking the Slideshow
Project thumbnail in the Elements Organizer and watching as it automatically reconnects the media to the Slideshow Project.
Other times, the program is unsuccessful in the find/reconnect mission, and its dialog offers you the opportunity to “find them
yourself and reconnect the media to the Slideshow Project”.
In this scenario where Premiere Elements is working with the Elements Organizer slideshow, when you open the Premiere
Elements saved closed project, you should be greeted with the first of the “Where is the file…..?” messages.  Using the first
and directing it to the current location of the first missing photo can restore not only that photo but all the others in the folder.
In most cases, the reconnection of the missing files at the Elements Organizer level did not automatically reconnect the
media in its slideshow contribution to Premiere Elements. But, there was one time when it did.
When you write 30,000 photos to be moved…the variables are overwhelming. The main objective should be maintain the
integrity of your existing saved closed Premiere Elements projects files and that of the Elements Organizer Slideshow
Project files. I would use the Project Archiver to archive these existing projects. If you need Project Assets media whether
used on the Timeline or not plus the media that went to the Timeline, then use the Copy option of the Project Archiver. If you
just want media that went to the Timeline, then use the Archiver option.
Adobe Premiere Elements 11 * Archiving projects
The rationale behind the Project Archiver is that is makes copies of the source media and the project .prel file and places
them in a special folder. The project.prel in that folder then traces back to the source media in that folder and is independent
of the original source media on the computer hard drive.
If you want to get the Elements Organizer Slideshow Project (.psess file) out of harms way, you could consider copying that
file and saving it to a safe save spot on the computer hard drive. The Slideshow Project (.psess file) is found
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Elements Organizer
    Catalogs
    Name of Catalog
    Projects
And in the Projects Folder is the Slideshow Project (.psess file).
As I said in the abridged version of all this at the top of the post, you may not want to be this "guarded" and instead just use
the approach mentioned at the top.
I will think about this some more.

  • How do you move POP3 email from the iPhone back to the server or computer?

Is there any way to get email that was downloaded to the iPhone using POP3 back on the server or computer? (other than resending all the mail)

    You're welcome.
Although it is possible to access a POP account with more than one email client, a POP account is really designed to be accessed with a single email client only.
I access a MobileMe account and a business POP account with the iPhone's mail client. Since an IMAP account is designed to be accessed with more than one email client keeping all server stored mailboxes synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account, accessing an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client is much more preferable to me. All sent messages are available with each email email client used to access the account. Read a received message with the iPhone's mail client and the message will be marked as read automatically when checking the account with the email client on my computer and vice-versa. I create additional server stored mailboxes to store received and sent messages by category and I can transfer messages from the account's Inbox or Sent mailbox to the designated server stored mailbox with the iPhone's mail client, with all server stored mailboxes kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account.
If messages were removed from the server with the email client used on your computer to access the account - transferred to a mailbox stored locally on your hard drive, you can transfer the messages back to the designated server stored mailbox.
Need to delete and recreate the account with your iPhone's mail client, or need to restore your iPhone with iTunes, all messages that don't remain on the server will be lost with a POP account including all messages sent with the account from the iPhone - which can be stored locally on the iPhone only unless you always Bcc yourself with every sent message.
Delete and recreate an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client and all server stored mailboxes and the messages within will be available again automatically.
IMAP account access is the way to go with the iPhone IMO.

how do i move a song from my downloads to my i tunes library

Look in your iTunes Media folder and find the folder "Automatically Add to iTunes."   Then just drag your new downloaded file into it.
Assuming the file is in a compatible format for iTunes, any file you drag into "Automatically Add..." will be immediately added to your iTunes library.  (Or, if iTunes is not currently running, the file will be added the next time you start iTunes.)
