I have run out of room on my 64GB iPad. It contains two series of a TV program and I want to keep the episodes. However I would like to be able to get at these episodes wherever I am located be it in Australia, Europe or the USA so would like to have them located in shared storage. What is the best way to achieve this. I am somewhat confused with my choices and my last update experience of losing a number of movies makes me nervous. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
All of your purchases are available free again from the stores. You can delete them and when you want to access them again just go to the store under purchased and select the ones you want. I do this all the time on my 16 gig ipad.

The extension is usually .mov, .m4v, or .mp4. But you can't just change the extension. The movies have to be encoded in a particular fomat. Anything downloaded from iTunes or plays in Quicktime player will be fine.

I recently added a number of movies to my iTunes library by redeeming digital copeis that came with Blu-rays. Due to limted disc space on my MacBook Pro, and for safe keeping, once I downloaded the movies, I moved the source files to an external desktop hard drive. When I'm home and I'm able to access that external HD via my home network, I'm able to watch the movies without an issue. However, if I'm away from home and I want to watch them, I'm not sure how to do that. I thought I could "stream" purchased movies from within iTunes - even after downloading them - using "iTunes in the Cloud" but can't figure out how to do that, or it simply isn't possible.
What are my options?I understand that I can't play my downloaded movies when my external HDD is not connected becuase iTunes is looking for the downloaded files. This is not the issue. The issue is that because my HDD is not connected (as in when I'm away from home) I'd like to be able to stream the movies via the cloud.
If I hadn't downloaded the movies when I redeemed my codes, would I have been able to keep the movies online via Apple iCloud and watched them anytime by streaming them or must the movies be downloaded in order to be viewed on my MacBook? I read that Apple allows movies purchased (or redeemed) via iTunes to be stored in the cloud via Apple iCloud so that they can be viewed any time, on any device. IF this is the case, how does it work? From what I can see, it looks like movies can only be "streamed" from the cloud when useing Apple TV; on my iPhone and MacBook Pro, it looks like they need to be downloaded in order to be viewed.
Can someone clarify this for me?
Also - Michael - when you said that If I've already downloaded the film but I'm away from my external HDD I should "Delete the entry from the iTunes library so iTunes only sees the iTunes in the Cloud version", what exactly would this mean? Would this mean that I could then stream the movie from the cloud or would I have to re-download it to my Mac's internal HDD in order to watch it?

How can I import a movie into iMovie 09 from a hard drive? The movie will open and play in idvd but breaks into separate files that can't be downloaded when I try to import. Can it be done? I am trying to create a disc of player highlights for a collegiate coach, and I am using movie files downloaded to my hard drive from a DVD created on a PC.
No unfortunately it won't open in quicktime either. It does the same thing that Imovie does, separates it into two file folders audio and video, and if i select video it opens to reveal 8 files that cannot be selected. VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB,VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VB, VTS_01_3.VOB. All of which cannot be opened or selected.
Opening it in Idvd and folllowing your suggestion works and I get a format code of NTSC. Is that the same? Thank you for your time and response.

I am moving all of my iphoto pictures into seperate folders becuase iphoto is great, but a bit cumbersome when I need to transfer all the pictures to a external drive.
1) After I move all pictures, how can I delete the iphoto pictures without destroying the ones I have in files
2) how can I ensure that I have sucessfully captures all the iphoto files so when I delelte from iphoto I have not forgotten any
3) is there a way to determine what duplicate pictures I have?
Thanks!If you Control click on the iPhoto Library, you'll see a list of folders - one named "Masters". Inside of this folder are all of your original, high-res photos. You can copy them to other folders if you like.
You can't delete iPhoto pics without deleting the ones in the iPhoto Library.
You can copy all of your Masters pics out of the Library, ensuring that you won't forget any.
I don't know of anyway to determine if there are duplicate photos - most (if not all) have a unique name assigned.

To start off, I absolutely do not understand iTunes. I feel that with every new "upgrade" it becomes more difficult to use.
We have 3 apple ID's for our home to make syncing easier and not have complications with devices. I have a window's computer with itunes which is "authorized computer" for all 3 apple ID's in family (mom, dad, child). We purchased a DVD with digital copy, installed and redeemed the code for the digital copy. However, it would not allow me to "redeem" on my child's apple ID. therefore, the digital copy went into my apple id. Now I can not sync the movie to my child's ipad/apple id. How can this be done? Please help! I know it can't be that hard, or is Apple just making iTunes worse and worse.The movie is from iTunes. You would think that a download from iTunes to a MacBook could be watched on an HDTV using Apple TV without any headaches bit this does not appear to be the case.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I uploaded photos in .jpg format to my iPad, but now all of those photos appear as .ithmb files and cannot be opened, even on the thumbdrive they originated from. How do I get them back to .jpgs?
Sorry, should've mentioned some more information. I synced the ipad to the folder of photos. The original photos had file names like "_MG_4865.jpg" and after syncing the folder in Itunes, all files were now found in a folder called "iPod Photo Cache" which was filled with many folders with labels like "F23" etc. (There were ALOT of photos.) In those folders there are several files with names like "T343.ithmb". Not a .jpg to be found and I can't view any of the photos.

Those songs that were purchased from iTunes will be available to redownload from Itunes for free. They are still available after you delete them from your phone.
Any that you did not purchase from iTunes, you can either use iTunes Match, otherwise you will loose these songs. -

I have QT Pro 7.6.6 and want to delete all audio (5 tracks) from a selected in-out section of a .mov file. Then, add new audio. How do I do that?
If I 1) knew TeX well enough to fix it, and 2) could get the guy to answer the phone or email so as to give me the sourcecode or to fix it himself, I wouldn't have bothered figuring out that the thing could be fixed one page at a time by a) getting a copy of acrobat pro, b) figuring out how to turn on all of the extra toolkits, c) finding the edit object button in randomly named toolkit, d) right clicking on the chapter title and selecting the e) ever so obvious "delete clip" menu selection.
At this point I would absolutely love to never have to touch an adobe product again in my life, but my hand has been dealt and if I'm going to print the manual for a software library that we've spent a cumulative $70,000 for, I have to figure this out and I really don't want to have to hit [Page Down], [Ctrl] + [A], Right click, delete clip for >700 pages.
I felt certain that once I'd figured out how to shift the pages down using ghostscript so first two lines of each page weren't getting cut off in the printer non-printable region, and finally figured out this that a relatively simple scripting solution would be immediately apparant. I mean, there are APIs for both applescript and javascript, but I'm mystified by how to get to the edit object feature from within them, much less how to tell that feature to delete clips for everything on a page. -
How to sent importet RAW files into the cloud? The files was importet from Canon EOS via camera adapter to the iPad. The Files was stored in the folder importet. But the files does not sync with photostream.

how do I transfer video files shot from my camera (Canon 5DMk2) which is in .MOV format into iTunes ? My photos and video files are first imported into Aperture then synced with iTunes. However, itunes does not capture the Video files but uploads the phtos from Aperture during sync.
I tried dragging the video files into iTunes but it still would not be captured into iTunes ?
Appreciate any help on this. ThanksOpen them in Quicktime Player 10.1. Then, use Quicktime's Share menu > iTunes. That will create an iTunes compatible version and automatically load it into your iTunes movie library.
