How do I move iPhoto photos to new iPhone?

I have photos from my 3GS in iPhoto. Can I move some of the photos to my new 4S?

Just sync them as any other photo.

  • How To Sync Backed Up Photos To New iPhone 5?

    Hi,
I was just wondering how to get my backed up photo album from my iPhone 4 to my new iPhone 5? I have backed up a lot of photos from my old iPhone and want to transfer them all to my new one, but when I sync, it only syncs my music and apps?
It won't sync my contacts and notes etc as wellm but have retrieved this through iCloud which isn't a problem, but I cannot get my old messages and photos to go through? I know you can just manually sync photos from folders but I would rather have them in my camera roll as it makes it easier rather than seperate folders, and want to make sure my geo tags are there as I have been to a lot of places around the world!
I have tried backing up my iPhone 4 over and over, and even got to a point where it said importing photos which was a good sign, but when I restore my iPhone 5 and try it it still won't pick up the photos or contacts etc? I have made sure I have selected my most recent backup so that shouldn't be the problem, but just wondered if I haven't put a setting on or something?
My friend who also upgraded from a 4 to a 5 literally syced up and was away?
    Thanks for your help,
    Leslie

What are you actually trying to do? If you wish to sync them to the iPod, that means have them on the iPod and in iTunes, but you specifically say you don't want them on the PC. However, like music on the iPod, to have it there it needs to be in the library (especially if you want to auto-sync), which is what you say you have to do.
You mention the library and transferring the podcasts automatically, which suggests that you are trying to put them onto the iPod to listen to, but then you mention enabling disk use, which surely means storing them on the iPod as data files which you cannot listen to. So do you want to put them onto the iPod to listen to, or just to store them?
How are you getting these podcasts anyway? The easiest way is to subscribe to them and let iTunes do all the work of finding and downloading them into the podcast part of iTunes and automatically syncing them into the Podcast section of the iPod. There are options in iTunes for keeping none, some, or all podcasts on the iPod, even once you have listened to them.
Provide us with a bit more information and maybe we can sort out the best solution for you.

  • How to Sync Modified iPhoto Photos to New iPad?

Hi, the question is really in the title. I have just returned from holiday and have edited 300+ photos in iPhoto. These have been synced to my iPad which is only showing the originals, not the modified versions. After searching these forums I found a solution for the iPhone - deleting the iPod cache file in iPhoto package contents - but this did not help on the iPad.
I have batch changed the names of the photos and re-synced but this has not helped. I suspect I could export them all and then re-import but iPhoto loses tagged faces doing that and having spent hours assigning faces I'm not keen on going through that again.
Has anyone cracked this particular issue, or could someone with an iPad try modifying a photo and seeing if it syncs okay - would be good to know if this is a local issue to me or a generic problem.
    Thanks.
    David.

    Hi, René,
that is not as it should be, so pardon my very basic questions - just to be sure:
How do you sync from iTunes? Have you set the "Sync Photos from" pop-up menu in the "Devices" tab in iTunes  to "Aperture" and not to your "Pictures" folder?
To sync the edited versions, you have to sync with Aperture and not with the masters folder on the Disk. Set Aperture to share Previews with the iLife Applications (in the Aperture Preferences > Previews tab) and to automatically create the Previews. Set the preview quality and size to your main display dimensions.
If you already have that, please post back and explain more how you are syncing with your iPhone.
    Regards

  • How do I move my photos from my iPhone?

I have a lot of photos on my phone. I want to archive them on my Mac, but not import them into iPhoto.  The phone doesn't appear in Finder, nor can I list the photos as files to be copied somewhere else.  Is there any way I can do that?

I think you'll need to use image capture to do this if not wanting to use iPhoto.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I move the photos I've made using my iPhone to my iTunes library and leave no copy on my iPhone?

I am using an iPhone 3GS and iSO 6.1.3. My iPhone states the iSO software is "up to date" and will check for another version on Dec. 13, 2013.
I have made photos using my iPhone 3GS and they are currently on my iPhone. I want to move them to my iTunes library, leaving no copy behind on my iPhone. I want these photos completely removed from my iPhone after they are copied to my iTunes library.
I've tried to adjust the Photo settings and sync my iPhone many, many times, but the photos remain on my iPhone and they are NOT in my iTunes library.
How can I move these photos from my iPhone to my iTunes library?
Thank you so much for your help or any suggestion I can try to achieve my goal! I sincerely appreicate your time and attention to matters of my concern.

I just used Windows Explorer (in Windows 7) opened my iPhone, copied the DCIM file and now I will attempt to import my photos into iTunes. I believe I answered my own question - I just thought there would be a way to do this via iTunes (I should have known better).

I deleted a photos from iphoto, later I found them in imoive, how do I move the photos back to iphoto?

    Hi Canadian Beaver Tail!
You may want to try restoring the photo in iPhoto, using the instructions suggested in the following article:
iPhoto '11: Delete or restore a photo
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2398
    To restore a deleted photo:
If you haven’t yet emptied the iPhoto Trash, do the following:
Select Trash in the Source list.
Select the photo you want to restore.
Choose Photos > “Restore to Photo Library.”You can also drag the item out of the Trash into an empty part of the Source list.
If you use Time Machine to back up your computer, you can recover a photo, an Event, a folder, an album, a project (such as a book, card, or calendar), or a slideshow even if you deleted it from the library and emptied it from the Trash. To restore photos, quit iPhoto, open the folder containing your iPhoto library, and then open Time Machine. To open Time Machine, click its icon in the Dock, or click the Time Machine icon in the menu bar and choose Enter Time Machine. For more information on using Time Machine, see the topics in Help Center. In the Finder, choose Help > Help Center, and then search for “Time Machine.”
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,

  • How do I move the photos in iPhoto to Lightroom ?

How do I move the photos in iPhoto to Lightroom?  Thanks, I am a novice to Lightroom.

To access your Mac iPhoto images for use in Photoshop and Lightroom
    1. In the Finder, navigate to Users > [user name] > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
    2. Control-click (Right-click) the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
    3. A Finder window opens that shows the contents. The Masters folder (or called Originals folder) contains all of the photographs that are in iPhoto.
Photoshop cannot access this folder, but if you make a duplicate of the folder, the dupe will be accessible -- so:
    4. Control-click (Right-click) the folder named Masters (or Originals) and choose Duplicate.
    5. Drag the duplicate folder which is named "Masters copy" or “Originals copy” from the iPhoto Library Finder window to the Desktop.
    6. Open images in Photoshop or Lightroom from the file on the desktop.
    or
    7.  Rename the folder and move it elsewhere (probably to the Pictures folder), if desired.
Then access the files in the folder via Lightroom and Photoshop

  • How do I move 3741 photos in iPhoto on my iPad to iPhoto on my iMac?

How do I move 3741 photos in iPhoto on my iPad to iPhoto on my iMac?
My iMac lost all of the photos in the iPhoto library about 3 OSX updates ago (current system 10.9.1) but they recently appeared on my iPad. I have looked at all of the iphoto libraries on my iMac (3) and one contains 419 photos, one contains 3 photos and the main library has place holders with description information for 3741 photos but no photos. My iPad has all of the photos in iPhoto. How do I move them?

The answer is no. There is no originals (or masters folder) that I can find. Below are the following folders in iPhoto:
Events Folder: 71 place holders with decriptions including 6 recent photos
Photos Folders: 3741 Place Holders with descriptions
    Photo Stream: 1 photo
    Last 18 Months: 157 photos
    Last Import: 1 photo
    Cloud: 229 photos
1 Album: 3 placeholders with descriptions
    Slideshow: 1 placeholder with description
Many of the actual photos are recent and are duplicated in one of the abovefolders

How do I move a photo into an album in the new Photos application?

The simplest way is to show the Sidebar at all times - you can reveal it with options-command-S  ⌥⌘S.
With the sidebar visible, you can simply drag the photos from the Moments or other albums to the album in the sidebar. You can select and drag multiple photos at a time by selecting the first photo, holding down the shift key and selecting more photos.  If the album does not yet exist, select the photos and press ⌘N for "File > New album" to create a new album with the selected photos.

How do I move emailed photos to iPhoto using Lion? I've lost the previous drop down option.
    Thank you, Karen

There are multiple ways. I am not at my Lion machine at the moment, so I am not sure I can remember them all, but here is one: Click on the "Details" button in the upper right corner of the message. If there are image attachments, the drop down menu should appear.
Or, try right click on the image. I think I saw "Add to iPhoto" in the contextual menu.

  • How can I move my photos from Photoshop Elements 8 to a new computer also running Elements 8?

How can I move my photos from Photoshop Elements 8 to a new computer also running Elements 8?

I am not sure this is going to work. For one thing, the preferences file is in a different place in Mountain Lion. It is at: ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.pli st. I wouldn't try to move the .plist file, I'd be very surprised if it would work.
I would do a different approach and start with just recreating the mail account(s) you have on the new machine from scratch and let them download your mail from the server. Then if there were e-mails not on the server any more, but stored in the black macbook, I'd copy them from the mailboxes folder, from the old machine to the new. I'm not sure where they are in 10.5.8, but in ML they are at ~/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes.
At each stage along the way I'd do a backup, so in case it screws things up, you can revert to a functional Mail.app.

  • I have so many photos I only have 1G of memory left.  How can I move the photos to my external hard drive that is connected to my iMac?

I have so many photos on my Mac I only have 1G of memory left.  How can I move the photos to the external hard drive that is plugged into my iMac.

1GB? It's a miracle your Mac is running at all!
This is our resident iPhoto guru, Terence Devlin's, advice:
You can move your iPhoto Library to an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • Move iPhoto photos into specific project in Aperture

I am working on a project in Aperture.  I want to move a select group of photos from iPhoto into Aperture 3.5.1.  I know how to open these images in Aperture by switching libraries but I can't figure out how to actually move these photos into the Aperture project.  Most posts I found are based on Aperture 3.3 which is slightly different.
    Thanks.

I want to move a select group of photos from iPhoto into Aperture 3.5.1
    What is your iPhoto version?
To be able to import parts of an iPhoto library into an Aperture 3.5.1 library, you need a compatible iPhoto version, iPhoto 9.5.1, and your iPhoto library needs to be upgraded  to this version.
Open your iPhoto Library in Aperture and select the albums and events you want to export to Aperture.
Then use the command "File > export > Items as library".
This will write a new, partial Aperture library to your disk, with all selected events and albums, keywords, captions, edits,...
Now open your main Aperture library and use the command "File > Import > Library.
This will import the exported events and albums to your Aperture library. If there are duplicates, you may be prompted, if you want to merge or add the new items. Merging will only keep one of the duplicates.

  • How do I move iPhoto library to a wireless, remote HD?

How do I move iPhoto library to a wireless, remote HD?

    Same as any HD.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
But Note: A strong warning: If you're trying to edit the Library (that is, make albums, move photos around, keyword, make books or slideshows etc.) or edit individual photos in it via Wireless be very careful. Dropouts are a common fact of wireless networking, and should one occur while the app is writing to the database then your Library will be damaged. Simply, I would not do this with my Libraries.
